I will definitely use this firm again for all of my SC real estate closings. The process was very smooth. Staff was very professional and responsive to my needs and concerns or questions. Mr. Nantz performed the closing in such a professional manner. He answered all of my buyer's questions; very knowledgeable about real estate. I was extremely pleased.

Reply to Mr. Nantz response:
As a reply to the response, here is an excerpt of the email the realtor we hired -who referred the law firm which was retained to obtain a death certificate and probates - sent to Mr. Nantz, begging him for an update, contrary to Mr. Nantz's claims that he has contacted the client to no avail.

"Trey,

The last definitive update I was able to obtain from you was you thought we might close by mid July. I had the foresight to extend till July 31st in anticipation that we might miss another deadline.

Mid month you told me you would write an email to the seller explained where we were, what to expect and next steps. Here we are the 28th and still no email.

Come Wednesday we are again out of contract and I have zero information to relay to the seller. He no longer trusts me, believes a word I say and i can’t say that I blame him. In every transaction I conduct I try to maintain an open line of communication so my sellers know what to expect. The lack of communication in this transaction has totally frustrated me like never before. I do understand that there are many parts of this process out of your hands but even a simple email saying there is no update would have sufficed. Instead I am waiting for emails that never come make phone calls to the office that are unreturned and I know that your staff probably cringes every time I call.

If I had known this was going to be the case, I could have better prepared my client. I told him he was in good hands but instead now I have to tell him I have no answers.

This deal will be a blown deal in 3 days and Lisa and I are going to find ourselves with a lot of egg on our faces. Brian McCarron"

Initial Message
My client, who is an elderly disabled person in Massachusetts, hired this office to obtain a death certificate and a probate on a couple of lots in the summer of 2017. The attorney requested $1500 upfront. With the exception of update in response to one email that the local broker (who had referred him to my client) complaining about the lack of communication and obviously work: his response was "it takes time - and I already used up all the funds and had to pay for some expense" - when asked to produce statements, we never heard from him. We still don't have the documents. My client is in the process of filing a complaint with the local Bar Association.

I have worked with Trey and his team many times in real estate closings. The staff has always been helpful as well as Trey when I need something taken care of. Their new online monitoring and closing process helps tremendously and keeps everyone on track. Would recommend this office to anyone who wants a good, successful closing!

We closed on-time and for the quoted amount of money, so they avoid one star, but the customer service experience was terrible. I'll third the sentiments about the rude paralegals - had unnecessarily difficult communication with two separate ones before and after closing. At closing, asked for paper and PDF copies of the closing documents and received neither until I followed up a month after my closing. Was made a promise at the closing table that still was not fulfilled four months after closing. After emailing each month to ask for it to be done, I was finally told, in no uncertain terms, that it was my problem to deal with. So I went ahead and took care of it in one phone call. Strongly advise you to find another closing attorney.

**UPDATE** - I just got my deed and title insurance in the mail, 9.5 months after closing.
**UPDATE 2** - 1 year, 1 month after closing, found out the survey Trey references below was never recorded with the county, resulting in an overassessment of property taxes.

Tries to bribe you at closing. Flamboyant with jokes while flicking pen and straightening papers. As well as closing gift to get good reviews. I thought the ADD of making sure every paper was lined up would translate into excellent paperwork. I don't care how exciting it is as long as it's done right. At least I did close on time and was able to move in.

However, after the closing which I paid $1,600 and seller paid $250 there was a problem with the title. Not a very complicated one. Two people bought a house, one person died, that person's share went into a trust. The other person held onto their half. Sounds fairly common. However, after being blown off the first two times I asked about it they told me they would look into it and got quite upset when I came in there a third time after telling my lender without fixing the problem or giving me updates.

So far, it's been about about a month and have not had any updates other than a common we're working on it when I told my lender. I'm assuming all you would need was the seller to sign a title transfer over but have not heard anything or explained process. I don't know, that's why I paid all that money so you could do it right.

I understand this is a lower priority concern for them and they may be putting it off. Plus they already made their money what's their incentive now. I don't want it to be forgotten about. I go by the philosophy if you do something right away it will be done with.

Dishonest and untrustworthy to the maximum! DON'T USE THIS LAW FIRM! This law firm should be a zoo or better yet a circus especially in regards to that one clown in particular. I'm not saying any names, but we know who he is.

Mr. Nantz, You are an attorney and familiar with a Power of Attorney (POA). My son, Perry Feaster, Jr. a veteran of the U.S Army (Honorably Discharged) was given the authority to handle this matter on my behalf and signed the closing documents in your office in my absence.

Additionally, I was on the phone with my son for the entire ordeal in your office.. He was not escorted from the property as you exclaim. He was not rude to these ladies, he asked to speak with you and your staffs ignorance is what escalated this issue.

You and your staff were derelict in your duties to handle this matter. I have the email correspondence on July 16th 2019 advising that you would "mail the final policy," but I hadn't received said documentation (dated July 17th 2019) until my son received the paperwork in your office today. The preceding documents you sent weren't recorded with York County, SC.

You were on site, shaking and hiding behind your female subordinates instead of being a man and owning up to the issues regarding my concerns to conclude our business.

BEWARE!!! DO NOT USE THIS LAW FIRM!

I acted as power of attorney for my mom whom bought a house in Rock Hill, SC on May 22nd 2019. Numerous request for both the final documents and to speak with the attorney Trey Nantz were ignored. We were advised today that the final documents weren't filed in a timely manner because they had to terminate an employee that didn't do their job.

This information should have been communicated weeks ago instead of hiding/ignoring us.

When I stopped by the office today to speak with the attorney after having my phone calls and emails ignored, the police were called even though I wasn't irate. I was accused of being "intimidating," #BigBlackMan because I asked to speak with an attorney.

The paralegal, and office manager advised that Trey Nantz wasn't on the property... but he must have wings because he mysteriously showed up and furnished the documents we requested.

I should have read the reviews and requested a different closing attorney.

DO NOT USE THIS ATTORNEY! YOU'VE BE WARNED.

I've closed many transactions in York county with many different attorneys. I have never felt as at home and as important to a transaction as I have with Trey and his team.

It took an entire month to get a check from them. Even after my realtor had called multiple times with the response "it's sitting on his desk". My first impression of this office was not good. Hopefully this is a rare occurrence.

I've experienced the same process as the Kelly who made a review 3 months ago. Lack of communication no return calls or emails and wondering where my proceeds are from a sale that was finalized yesterday at 10am. I have called several times only to get the general voicemail. Have sent several emails to Jaimie most go unanswered for 24 hours. According to the response to Kelly's review this is atypical for this company. Well 2 reviews on the past few months with the same issues seems pretty typical. I have responded to all of their last minute request for my out of state closing in a timely manner and I expect the same. I would not recommend this company to anyone who would like to know what's going on with there closing.

The person who bought my house chose this firm to handle the closing, so my experience with them wasn't even my own doing. First, Shelby, the paralegal is horrible with communication. If you are lucky enough to get her on the phone she is rude and forget ever getting her to respond to an email. She sent me some forms that they needed from me to move forward with closing, payoff, etc. I sent them back and couldn't even get a confirmation email that she received them. So due to my family leaving the state prior to the actual closing date I had to sign off on everything early. My agent set up an appointment and confirmed the day and time with me and Shelby both. I show up at their office on said day and time and no one has a clue who I am or why I'm there. They then had to scramble to get the paperwork together when I informed them that I was leaving the state and would not be back for the closing. So I sign off, Trey is very nice and they turned the situation around. Great! Fast forward to day of closing, Shelby emails me two final forms that need signed and sent back. As I'm getting ready to send everything back (mind you I just moved cross country so I'm at a UPS store trying to handle this) she puts everything on hold and says the numbers changed. She won't answer my questions and of course my emails go unanswered. To this day I have never received a reply to any of my emails. Anyway, so after waiting on her to once again scramble at the last minute to get her stuff together I finally sign off and I'm done... wrong. They were supposed to wire my funds to me that day, I didn't receive funds until I called the following day questioning where the money was. Miraculously it showed up an hour later. So now I'm finally done...wrong again. Fast forward three weeks, I receive a call from my mortgage company wondering why I didn't make a payment this month. These idiots at Nantz Law Firm never sent the payoff to my mortgage company. Wow! Naturally I call the law firm first thing the following morning and Kayla and Shelby both give me the run around and become very evasive and you know it, Shelby yet again fails to respond to my emails. So the entire day passes, no return phone call, no email, no communication whatsoever. Fast forward to 9:30 the following morning I have to call them back because obviously their customer service is horrific. Trey finally takes my call and informs me the transfer is done with some lame excuse as to why it was held up for three weeks. This place is disorganized, unprofessional and completely lacking in customer service and communication. Although Trey and Kayla seem nice enough I would not recommend this law firm.

Arrogant and incompetent. Trey Nantz is a spoiled little child playing at being a lawyer just like his rich daddy. Don't expect any results, he's all about show. He wears funny clothes and has no substance or talent. Seriously, this little man is pathetic and should NOT be hired for any reason. He is VERY dishonest and untrustworthy!
