Scott was able to review a settlement contract for my Mother's estate. While this wasn't his normal type of case, he was able to advise me in a manner that suited my needs and got me a positive outcome. He has also helped a few of my friends and family obtain favorable outcomes in divorce cases and obtain Civil Protection Orders against an abusive spouse.

I chose Scott primarily because he’s listed as a Super Lawyer for family law. My experience with him was he over engaged in meaningless discussions and having to recap conversations and direction that had already been discussed (and of course charging his hourly rate to do so). He missed 2 pre-trial hearings and sent a jr attorney instead (and I do understand that things happen).

I feel like he is way more concerned about being viewed as “easy to deal with” by opposing counsel and the courts than with representing me. He didn’t fight for anything and basically rolled over to avoid conflict. I dropped in on him unexpectedly to witness his performance on a pre-trial conference call and he was so nervous his hands were shaking and he was stuttering - and he got handled by opposing counsel without any pushback at all.

Later, when I told him I was disappointed with the lack of fight for issues discussed, he dropped me as a client, filed a motion to withdrawal as counsel, and filed a notice saying that I understood that I couldn’t be granted a continuance due to changing counsel. Not so coincidentally - my $5,000 retainer was nearing its end and He knew additional money would not be paid for such poor representation.

Bottom line - my experience with him is that he makes excuses why he can’t show up, he’s a pushover, isn’t (Client) result oriented. I will be reviewing options for escalating a complaint to the bar and seeking a refund.

Absolutely not worth the high hourly rate. I believe he comes “recommended” as a super lawyer and by his peers because he avoids conflict. Unless the conflict is with me - and even then it’s communicated via email, after he already removed himself from having to deal with the conflict. Not a fighter.

I've known Scott for many years I'm always asking him questions about the law. He always tells me if it's personal we have to discuss it alone. He takes his ethics very seriously and I respect him for it. Great dude.

Great thorough advice

I am disappointed with my return on investment while retaining Scott. I spent approx 25k in 6mos with little to no results. It felt like he was being managed by the opposing attorney. Once I replaced Scott the case began to move in a positive direction.
