Mr. Bonsib and his staff are amazing. I retained the firm to defend my juvenile daughter on five (5) counts ranging from attempted first degree murder to misdemeanor assault charges. Mr. Bonsib and his paralegal, Amy were a godsend during this difficult time. Mr. Bonsib began preparing for trial after our first meeting. My daughter was acquitted on all counts and a defense was not presented during the trial based on the preparedness of his firm. To anyone looking for legal representation in a criminal matter, please use the services of their law firm. Mr. Bonsib is the absolute best at what he does.

Hired attorney Robert C Bonsib for a federal white collar indictment instead of hiring a public defender. Big mistake!! All this man (I am not calling him a lawyer) wanted was $25,000 for a plea deal. Do not be fooled. He tells you he will represent you even if you go to trial. I refused a plea deal because I knew my case evidence. After hiring him he had me (The client) looking at evidence that the government gave him as required. He had me looking at documents where I did not find anything. Why was I looking? I paid him $25,000. No legal assistant or anyone was looking at the evidence. After I looked at what the government gave him and could not find anything he set up an apt with prosecutors office so they could try and scare me into a plea deal. I refused. He was right with them. He did not prepare properly for trial. The week before trial he had me meeting with his Jr lawyer to get her up to speed on my case. When he was cross examining me practicing for trial, he was getting dates, case info and questions wrong and i had to keep saying something to him. I gave him 10 witnesses and he never contacted any of them. During trial he let his Jr attorney cross examine a friend who the prosecution had called and the Jr attorney was acting like the prosecution. I would hand him notes and he would ignore them and on one occasion he told me to be quiet. During closing arguments, he did a slide show about the responsibility of the 12 jurors working together to come to a decision. I was sitting at the table realizing I did not have a fighting chance. I was convicted. I do not blame the jury. It was up to my lawyer to object to what the government was saying and he did not object to preserve my right to an appeal of my conviction. After my trial, the next day the government DOJ typed up a report of my conviction. Most of what was reported was lies. I called Bonsib up to ask him how can tge government print lies? Bonsib told me "they can print what they want". I had had enough and it was too late. I told him what I thought about his representing me. Bonsib then told me I did not pay him enough money and that he should have received double what I paid him. I knew then that he did not represent me on purpose because he thought he would get $25,000 for a plea deal and not have to go to trial. Easy money. I fired him and hired another attorney for sentencing. I knew the evidence was not right so after my conviction for 2 months I poured through the evidence. I was right. A document the government used at court as evidence was fraudulent. The original document had a paragraph removed and replaced with a paragraph that had been typed up. Mr Bonsib was told and asked to let the government know and he refused. I hired another attorney who knew about the evidence for sentencing. Paid him $20,000 and he refused to bring out the evidence and told me that if I brought it out at sentencing the court would see it as me not being remorseful. I had the fraudulent document in hand during sentencing but was scared, afraid, confused and exhausted so I said nothing due to advice from my 2nd lawyer. I received a sentence of 10 months based on my restitution amount. I appeal my restitution but could not appeal my conviction because Bonsib did not preserve the record by objecting. The judge refused my Stay pending my appeal and I served my 10 month sentence. I won my appeal and my restitution was reduced and would have placed me in the probation category. I could have filed ineffective counsel by both attorneys, but it would have cost thousands of dollars more. Big attorneys like Bonsib know they can get away with ineffective counsel because they know little ordinary Americans do not have the financial resources to go after them. Beware!!!!!! Do not hire Bonsib. He's not the only federal defense attorney.

I was charged with 1st degree attempt murder in Calvert County, MD. I fired my old lawyer and hired Bob ( Mr. Bonsib ) with only 2 months untill trial.
