I own a Landscape Design/Build company. I was contracted to perform some drainage remediation necessary for the close of a home.
The Paralegal that was involved in this closing failed to effectively communicate with the seller, buyer, and myself regarding my payment.

I realize I’m the lowest man on the totem poll in this transaction. When I finally was able to get Marcy Benson on the phone she was very short, rude, and offered no apologies for the mistakes and lack of communication.

To me, this revealed a lack of character. I don’t recommend using their services.

Horrible experience with my closing , the paperwork was so wrong continued that way with corrections having to go back and forth at the last minute, even the math was wrong!! Marcy had a poor unprofessional attitude and Michael Johnson's emails were rude and condescending. I had only a verbal contacts with this office and found each experience severally lacking in any kind of professionalism. there are too many other attorneys that can handle a closing ,pass this one by .

This office has handled multiple personal and business closings for me. Mr. Johnson, his paralegal Marcy and all of his staff members are courteous and professional! My documents and paperwork have always been ready at closing and reviewed thoroughly with me. Great place to do business with!

Couple months back I had a closing with Michael Johnson and associates, they were so professional. They had all the documents ready and they even went through them thoroughly with me, my husband and the other party. They took the time to answer my calls or even email me in a timely manner. They brought out a delicious candy bowl into the closing. If i can give them a higher rating then five I would. I don't know how they do it. They are a really busy firm but they still had time to treat there clients with courteousness and their time to make sure we all left happy. I will be recommending them to anyone who is buying a home. :)

I was a little concerned given the negative reviews, but my closing went through without a hitch. Mr. Johnson and his staff were friendly and efficient.

We used Michael Johnson and his firm to close on our new home purchase. We arrived a little early and were greeted promptly. We were then directed to our closing room and offered a refreshment. Michael was very well prepared and quickly got us started on our paperwork. He finished without an hitch and was extremely friendly and curteous. Highly recommend!! Thank you!

I've never experienced more unprofessional service than I did from this office and in particular Marcy Benson, a paralegal there. The buyers of my home chose this attorney and for convenience I used them too. Marcy refused to take my phone calls when I had questions and would only communicate thru email which most of the time was vague. I also had to ask several times for something before I would receive a response because they were "busy with clients" ... I thought I was a client, I paid for their services but was not treated as such. On the day of closing my funds were not released and there was no communication to me why my money was being held. After calling the office several times the next day I was finally emailed by Marcy that she needed a copy of a check that I paid to have grass cut yet she never communicated this to me. My final documents were never sent to me either, I again had to contact Marcy to receive them.
Working with this law firm left a lot to be desired and the experience was horrible.

We went to sign the papers for our house, and the numbers weren't right, so they whisked the papers away and came back with a higher payment that didn't include HOA fees (and it was supposed to). I asked for an explanation, none was given. It was, "You don't have to go through with this if you don't want to." (We were relocating from NY, and clearly needed housing, so that was a bully answer and attitude.) (Strike 1.) Then a few days (weeks?) later, we got a check in the mail from them (made out to us) that was exactly the annual amount of our homeowner's insurance. (Good thing I knew that, and took care of it on my own.) (Strike 2.) I kept waiting for a copy of the deed and a survey, but it turns out that's "not part of their service." (Strike 3.) To top it all off, the staff can best be described as brusque--unfriendly, uncaring, and unprofessional. They were not helpful and they did not adequately explain anything. I do not recommend.

DO NOT use this place, they strung me along for 2 weeks performing an alleged, "Title Search", no responses to my calls to Marcy or to my emails to Michael. Also the receptionist, Lauren is extremely rude and hung up on me after I'd been calling for three days looking for an update. STAY AWAY from this place.

I absolutely love working with Michael Johnson and Joanne Ballou and the staff here is amazing. As a realtor professional it makes my job easier when they respond quickly to lender requests and are accommodating to changes of buyer closing times. I always enjoy my closing experience here and so does my clients. If you want A+ service, positive attitudes, and a get the deal close mentality then this is the office for you!

Unresponsive, negligent, his employees do not understand SC law and are very careless in their work. Mr. Johnson, though aware of all of this negligent activity relating to the sale of my home (he represented the buyer, so obviously I did not choose this firm), remained silent until third-party legal action was threatened.
