Divorce is painful for everyone involved. For me the process was protracted and, at times, adversarial. I was frequently anxious and scared about what was going to happen. I came to Brown Law for assistance in ending my alimony obligation since both parties had reached retirement age (as stipulated in our Decree).

I intially met with Marco and he was attentive and persuasive. Their fees are structured such that you don't feel like your writing checks every month.

My assigned attorney, McKenzie, worked to communicate with my ex-wife's attorney, who was less than responsive and forthcoming. Through perservence and good fortune, we managed to strike a very favorable agreement with my ex-wife.

Mr. Brown is dishonest in his practice and in his online representation of his qualifications, accolades, and professional memberships and associations. Mr. Brown had his employee lie in a sworn affidavit when responding to a complaint filed against him. And, while Mr. Brown claims to be a member of the New Mexico State Bar, Mr. Brown actually had his license to practice law in New Mexico suspended in 2013. A large portion of his positive online reviews are misleading as they are written by his employees and personal acquaintances rather than actual clients. Using Mr. Brown was, by far, one of the worst experiences of my life. RUN!!!! Mr. Brown is an incompetent, dishonest attorney who cares little about his clients, and spends more time billing for his services than actually working the case. Don’t hire this person, he’s a joke!

Just called this office and it was a waste super stingy just to talk to a lawyer. Looking at the reviews I see why, glad I dodged this bullet. This by far was the hardest experience I have had to go through personally in my life and I would not have done with anyone other than Brown Law. I'm extremely dissatisfied with his how much they nickel and dime every little thing. A SIMPLE divorce with no kids or house that I was led to believe wouldn't cost more than $2000 by Marco has cost me at least $7000. They pretend like they care and call you twice a week only to bill you for each "check in call". I feel like I was taken advantage of at the most vulnerable time in my life. They will get the job done but it will cost you and they will leave you hanging once they have your money.

It turns out that I did not need to retain Marco Brown's services because my ex and I were able to come to an agreement.

The staff and attorneys at this law firm are amazing they're very caring and attentive to your needs as well as keeping a good communication with their clients. However in my experience of a very basic custody battle I found that the amount I had paid when all was said and done was very high considering the average cost is in between $1200 and $4500 nationally, and it was almost $1,000 above the high that I paid for a basic custody battle with no hang-ups. Again this law firm is great my only issues are with the cost.
