I hired Martin Law, specifically Mary Lemiuex-Fillery to fight the Long Term Disability company that terminated my benefits. I had 6 months in which to file an appeal to fight the termination decision and didn't seek out Attorney Fillery's help until there was about 1 month left to appeal. I was scared that I didn't leave her enough time to file an appropriate appeal. Her and her staff quickly assured me that there was plenty of time. Needless to say, the appeal was denied (which is very typical of insurance companies to do regardless of how sound an appeal is). I thought it was done and over with. I was upset because not only did I lose a monthly income, but I also lost my health insurance and life insurance. That's when I was advised that we could go into settlement talks and even appeal again to a higher court. I was lucky enough to have her on my side because she negotiated a pretty good settlement. It ended up being more than the range that we expected. I still need to wait for life insurance coverage for a couple of more years because my disability renders me uncoverable. But with the health insurance, I got the health insurance I needed without having to pay a penny out of pocket. This offset the fact that I wasn't getting a monthly payment and evened out in the end. I would recommend the attorneys of Martin Law to anyone who needs representation.

This is the second case I have hired Joe and his team for. They have always been willing and able to answer questions, and address concerns. Ninety percent of the time when I would send an email or leave a voice mail some one would get back to me within an hour. On the occasions where I would send an email after normal business hours I have received an answer by 9am the next day if not that night. Also Joe does his best to take care of the fine details of your case allowing you to focus on healing. Go elsewhere! I hired them a year ago for my disability case, was called everyday until I decided to go with them and signed the papers and have not heard from them since. I called 2 times and emailed them with specific questions about who my lawyer is, and both correspondences were treated as annoyances and they must have one line for any question which is ..."we will contact you when we have a hearing date it takes up to 18 months"..that's fine if that had been relevant to my question..I signed with an attorney who is no longer there(found out bc I got a letter from them asking for updates and signed by a different attorney) The attorney I think is handling my case has been in practice for 1 year , I didn't agree to this. I sent them an email in August with all my updated medical info etc and auto reply email confirmed it was received and I guess it was lost bc the info in the letter I received in Dec asking for an update had all the wrong information,...no doctors have been contacted for records and I can't get a live person or a copy of the agreement/contract I signed a year ago...pretty certain I am firing them!

The firm neglected to take my VA case without me even having the opportunity to talk to a lawyer. I have all supporting evidence for my claim and I guess that didn't matter either. They didn't even give a reason for declining, I can only assume my case was not big enough for them to be bothered with.

Any one who has been injured on the job knows how overwhelming and frustrating it is to work with Workers Comp, when all you want to do is get healthy and move forward. When I was injured working for the Commonwealth of Pa. I contacted a very good friend of mine who is an attorney. I had been injured (Hernia) at work laying water mains 3 years ago. My employer and his insurance company decided they were going to deny my claim and send me back to work knowing I was unable to perform my duties. They really thought they could just deny my claim and I notified all available formans and inspectors the moment my stomach completely gave out. And I was ignored as serious as a work related injury is I was ignored plain & simple.
