Hiring a criminal lawyer can be a stressful experience. Most of the lawyers I talked to said things designed to scare me, quoting insanely high retainers and giving me very little time to talk after doing so. As it turns out, my case was not quite as serious as these attorneys were representing, in the sense that the punishments I was being told about were never anything I was realistically going to face. Kimberly was about the fifth or sixth person I spoke to and the tone and tenor of our conversation was night and day from the ones I had earlier in the morning. She explained to me that i was not in fact facing jail and that I would most likely receive a deferred sentence, which is exactly what happened. I really appreciated her honesty in regards to expectations and the real need or lack thereof of hiring a lawyer to defend me in this case.

All I can say is, she is a great attorney and there is no question the representation you will receive and the results you will get will be outstanding and beyond what any other attorney will be able to achieve. I hired Kimberly for a really, really difficult case where the consequences appeared to be severe and extremely detrimental. I hired Kimberly for a serious felony case. Unfortunately, I got into a situation where I had to defend myself and the injuries to the other person ended up being more significant than I anticipated. I was charged with DV Assault and DV criminal mischief after an altercation with my now ex boyfriend where I called the police in fear for my life. Luckily I have a lawyer sibling(out of state) who told me not to plead to anything at the next day arraignment.

I've worked with many different professionals both formally and informally and could tell that Kimberly knew the ins and outs of DV cases and was going to be able to both be honest about my chances and work for the best outcome. My case was dismissed without a plea deal six days after the incident by the DA and while that was a relief my arrest and charges were still on my record. I work in a profession where background checks are run all the time so Kimberly Diego set to work on getting the entire case sealed which was recently approved by the court.

In addition, the cost for handling the case pre-trial was reasonable and half of what another lawyer quoted my sibling about my case. I had a case where a guy said i punched him it was his word against mine and with my record the court wasnt believing anything but the other guy.
