A woman falsely accused me of stealing from her. I had never been accused of a crime by another person in my life, and had no idea what I should do. I spoke to the police, told the truth, and was charged for misdemeanor theft simply because of what this woman said about me. I was dejected when I received a court summons. The one thing I knew was I was going to defend myself against somebody, a stranger no less, lying about me. I needed an attorney. After some research I narrowed my search down to Mr. Routsis and another lawyer. I called them both and left messages at their office. Within 30 minutes, Mr. Routsis' assistant Elizabeth called me back and asked me to describe what happened in detail, and that Mr. Routsis would call me later. I thought she meant the next morning, but the same day, not long after I talked to Elizabeth, Mr. Routsis called me again and had read the notes from earlier and asked me more questions about what had happened. The other attorney did not return my phone call until two days later after I had already agreed to have Mr. Routsis represent me. Throughout the entire process Mr. Routsis and Elizabeth were outstanding. They are everything you would want as far as having somebody defend you legally. Every time I had a question, it was answered immediately. Mr. Routsis never sugar coated anything, he was honest about the process and laid out every possible scenario for me. I was arrested on the Stateline border of Nevada during a ski trip and was charged with 3 category B felonies and a gross misdemeanor on false allegations that equated to life in prison if convicted. My world came crashing down right before my eyes.

When I first spoke to William over the phone, I was met with the voice of a calm and collected man who appeared to have a high level understanding of the law. I dont know much, but I know I was innocent; and Like many others, I was discovering the realm and rules of the criminal justice system, from a first time offender point of view.
My case involved 2 charges and the punishments had I pleaded guilty at my arraignment, like many others, would have been extremely severe to say the least, so I sought legal counsel.
I sat down with 2 criminal defense attorneys (NV state vs. I) before searching the web and learned about Mr. William Routsis. My court date was approaching, so I picked up the phone and made the call. On the other line, a young lady by the name of Elizabeth answered and inquired about my charges. I called on a Friday and after we spoke, we agreed to schedule a sit down with Mr. Routsis (on a Sunday of all days). The day came when we rang the door bell and a shaggy haired man opened the door to greet us with a welcoming smile and an enthusiastic glow of energy. After having a brief introduction we sat down in his office and talked about what had happened. He looked me in the eyes and asked if I believed I innocent? I said yes, and I asked if he believes this a "Trial base" case? I wanted him to know I was ready to fight my wrong doers before a judge, for the fear of serving time scared me. He was patient and actively listened. Having spoke to previous counselors, he did not strike me as get rich quick, bar-passing, leave you hanging sort of lawyer. It's As is As compassion as he striked me, he does not like to lose.

My civil rights violated, I sought counsel and wanted counsel I could trust. I needed to place my entire situation behind me as soon as possible, still feeling the trauma from my violations, I wanted to move on with my life. If I wanted to, I was assured by Mr. Routsis I could re-open the case for lawsuit at a later date. Was I treated as a victim for another’s purpose? I do not know.
