I was incredibly fortunate to have Karin Porter representing me after being arrested in Fairfax County for DUI and driving on a suspended license. The videotape of my DUI arrest was particularly damning.

I received a Reckless Driving charge in VA on the way home from Outer Banks NC, being from Maryland I know all the speeding laws in MD being 30+ over is Reckless Driving anything under would be a regular speeding ticket. Just like everyone else I was going down RT 95 at 91MPH, at 3:45 AM. In a rush to get home after a long vacation.. ofcourse the speed limit drops to 65 at some point and I didn’t realize.. so the officer clocked me at 91 in a 65. After reading the severity of the charge I decided to lawyer up and head into a VA Courtroom ready to get this reckless off of my driving record. I called a few lawyers, Steve Duckett and Price Benowitz was one of the 1st to respond to me, I had talked to 2 lawyers before and they all tried to scare me with the “mandatory jail” thing. Safe to say when I spoke with Steve he wasn’t anything like that. He calmed me down gave me a list of things to do before court (26 hours community service, letters of recommendation, and online traffic school) I completed all of the recommended things before court.. apparently we had one of the worst prosecutors in the state of VA, Steve told me she is one of those people who pick wings off of butterflies for fun, so at that point I was a little worried, but Steve and his professionalism killed her with kindness and reached an agreement before we even saw the judge. He got my 91-65 Reckless Driving dropped to a 87/60 or 17 over speeding ticket with 0 points, no suspension of my drivers license and no insurance costs going up! I am 100% satisfied with the service Price Benowitz and Steve Duckett provided for me! While they are on the more expensive side, it’s really about the comfort you want to feel while standing in front of a judge. And I was 100% confident in Steve to get it done and that’s exactly what he did! I would use Price Benowitz and more specifically Steve again if god for bid I got myself in another situation like that again!
