THIS IS A LAW FIRM THAT SENT ME 2 CHECKS FOR OVER PAYMENT,DEPOIST IN MY BANK ACCOUNT,THEY WAS RETURNED AND COST ME OUT OF POCKET,IF REGULAR PEOPLE DID THIS THEY WOULD BE PROSCUTED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Worse company ever!!!!I asked and asked for a balance on an old debt and they said it is my responsibility!!!!Hasn't offer me a settlement because I have been paying and paying for it and done gave them lots of money for eight or nine years now.They should just let the debt go cause I have a learning disability and they don't believe that either!!!!

this is by far the worst company i have ever dealt with in my life. its not that they are a debt collector, thats what they do, i get it. However, the level of disrespect they treat people with is not ok. they will talk to you like you are a pos and they are the all mighty.

Fenton McGarvey are a bunch of money hungry vultures who will milk every penny they can out of you.

Debt was paid in 2017 and I have paperwork to prove. May 1st of 2018 Fenton & McGarvey placed a bank levy against me and wiped out my checking account. They will not return calls nor do I ever get to speak with a real person. I have sat on hold for the next available person for over 2 hours on 3 different occasions and have left at least 15 messages on their voicemail. This company is awful. I'll give them the rest of this week more week then I will seek the advice of a competent lawyer to get this settled. I dont understand how they can legally still be in business with the many complaints against them.

Not interested in payment plans or auto-drafts. They bypassed sending me letters and sent one to my employer instead over a debt my ex incurred in my name. He left me with our kids and his bills, and I woke up to find my bank account drained by this company. My rent is due and my kids and I are facing eviction after they garnished child support from my account. I never received a notice to appear in court or defend myself or work out a plan I could afford. And this was after I had already paid HALF of the debt owed. They prey on people in debt, lack human faculties that would allow most debtors to negotiate based on circumstances, and there isn't even a paper trail of communication with them. No notices in the mail, no phone calls, no receipts of payment. I couldn't even get my account number from them to pay online, and it won't accept payment online or disputes without it because they don't accept a dispute. They are disgusting thieves.

I'm not in collection. But I'd Stay away from this FIRM! As an employer Received a check for a team member who wasn't ours. Called them to report. Suggested they double check before sending out a check to the wrong franchise. Customer service person responded (with his mouth full of something) "I suggest you chill out." Wow - real professional!

Very deceptive company. Took money out of my 70 year old parents account because I was a authorized signer on the their account. Placed a lien on my house for more than I owe. Called company 3 times about these issues and all I got is the run around no straight answers. Can’t get a supervisor to return my calls.

This place is Horrible

I haven't had any issues with them, they've been easy to work with and were understanding when a family emergency occurred that consumed my income for a period of time. I've been making my payments on time for almost 2 years and have had zero issues or complaints. I was able to change my payment amount around without issue and was given a pretty good payoff deal. This is a debt collector, they aren't meant to be your pals, but for a debt collector I've gotta say. Not too shabby, appreciated the professionalism and courtesy throughout the entirety.

Update to review based on recent interaction. I had this account paid off in FULL on 11/14/2017 and i was then billed again on the 17th of this month. When i called to get a refund of the amount that i was billed, i was told that they will not be reimbursing me for the amount even though they have now taken more than the agreed upon amount. I have already contact the better business bureau to have this resolved, but thought that it would be good to put this out there.

Just trying to verify liens, this firm kept me on hold for 30 minutes and then the representative hung up on me when I did not have the full SSN. After that experience, I can only imagine how they treat people who aren't trying to give them money. If 0 stars was an option, that would be my review.

Awful experience with this company. I just made a payment two weeks ago on a payment arrangement and nothing was ever said about filing anything against me. Shame in this company. I'm in the process of contacting The Attorney General's office and filing a complaint. This company has to be stopped with their under handed practices.

How are they accredited through BBB? I would never use this company for any service. They did not honor their agreements!!!

Intend to Defend. Even if you pay in full before an agreed due date, they still may pursue legal action in hopes you won't show up in court. In most states, if you don't appear in court to defend yourself, the plaintiff WILL WIN by default-even if they fail to appear. Then, you will have a judgment against you for an amount you already paid them. These type of places will try to collect twice! This is the part that seems very illegal to me. Be careful. Do not take anyone's word over the phone. Keep records of screenshots, ALL agreements, transactions and any other paperwork from this company. You will need it. In the end, after they wasted my time and money, it worked itself out. However, if you look online, you will see horror stories from others.

I called this "law firm" trying to get basic information from them as they have sent a relative a notice of suit. However, when I called I talked to a representative and simply asked whether he could tell me t statute of limitations in the state of WV. He said he had no idea. When I asked how they kept up with who they could legally sue he became irate and screamed at me saying "Who are you and why are you calling here? If you don't have a lawsuit with us don't call." I called a second time....a female answered and I politely asked for their license number to do business in the state of WV. She also became irate and said "who goes around with a license number in their pocket?" This was on speaker so my family sat there shocked. I again asked about statute of limitations and was told I need to get a lawyer along with some other screaming comments from her. I then informed her that they were obviously the subject of numerous lawsuits and that she clearly was too stupid to have a job if she could not answer basic questions. These people are vultures. No legitimate firm would behave this way. I doubt there is a lawyer even on the premises. I look forward to seeing my relative go to court on the breach of fair debt collection practices.

Horrible they say I only paid a certain amount when I got the whole list from my job and have paid over 4000 extra and they give a fax number that doesn't work!!!!

Worst law firm ever

Phone system has long hold time which gives you the option for a callback. They NEVER return phone calls but best believe they'll send a sheriff to your door if you don't pay.

Liars who don't give a receipt for payment made. Do not pay in full they will still sue you.

They are liars. Do not give them any money because they'll sue anyway...even if you pay in full. If they get a judgement and you want to pay your garnishment, they'll lie and say they will drop it and they won't.

I cant rate this law firm because they do not deserve a rating. This firm sucks. I had made arrangements to pay off a bill and then after making several payments I get another statement from them that they are putting a lien against me! So then they decide that they would put my checking on hold. That should be against the law. I don't have much, but what I do have is mine, I worked for it. Contacting a lawyer today!!!

They kept changing the remainder of my amount. I tried to get in touch with a manager and NEVER got a call back. This law firm sucks and needs to get all the correct information because it seems like their systems are not up to date. So over this firm I finished paying off my debt and they told me I still have a balance which is not true.
