Took my money and never heard from them again. Except for asking for more $ for doing nothing.

I met with attorney Deborah Phillips in January one week prior to my set court hearing. During this meeting we formed what I thought was our game plan and the entire reasoning for my obtaining an attorney. I was on a one year suspension of my driver's license, and put the BAID device in my vehicle to legally drive. I had several issues with the BAID device along with several documents of evidence to back up the issues I went through. Not only did my vehicle blow up exactly one month to the day of putting the device in my vehicle, but I almost lost my job on several occasions due to being stuck from the device. I took the device out of my vehicle in September of last year. To add insult to injury the state extended my suspension for three months claiming that my explanations were not valid even though I had the evidence to back up my claims. I hired Mrs. Phillips in January to obtain my license prior to April 2nd 2019 as the initial suspension was to be up on January 2nd 2019. She was supposed to write a letter to the State representing me asking for a hearing as quickly as possible. She was also handling the fine portion of my case. I got her all the documents she needed the day we signed the retainer. Again this was in January. I tried contacting her several times. I was continuously told that she was not in the office, or was working from home, and that she would call me back. I NEVER heard back from her until the date of my last hearing, which was the last Wednesday in March. She called me late morning just prior to the time she was to be in court for my hearing. I was very firm with her and was trying to understand how NOTHING had been done with regards to appealing the State of Illinois pertaining to my extended license suspension. It didn't make sense to me considering my licenses would legally be reinstated on April 2nd and here we were roughly a week away from that date, yet nothing had been done. She really didn't have many answers for me. She said she would contact me after court that day to further discuss. I NEVER heard back from her. I continued to call the office to get an update on the hearing, but was again told, she was in court, or working from home, and would call me back. My last conversation with the office consisted of being told that she has been ill, and my hearing was continued. Now today, on April 4th, 2019, the attorney finally called me back, and guess what? They are withdrawing as my council and terminating our retainer. I almost wanted to laugh, but when asking what reasoning they were taking this action on, I was told by Mrs. Phillips that it's due to communication. I about fell out. Are you serious? What a slap in the face. Do not use this law firm. A lot of these 5 stars are most likely friends and family of those at the firm. I am filing a claim with the BBB, Hyatt Legal, and several other places. Don't even waste your time on the telephone call. Good day.
