This law firm is nothing but a revolving door of new law school grads that do no more than file court documents and bill hours. I had 4 lawyers handle my case in a year. When I was assigned a fifth, I terminated my contract with them, and hired a real attorney. If I could give them a negative star I would. Save yourself thousands of dollars and hire anyone else!

I’m posting on behalf of my husband who was extremely dissatisfied with their services. We initially spoke to an attorney from the firm who listened and sympathized with our situation and said he could definitely help us. We were looking for representation in a child support matter. We drove from Colorado for our consultation prior to the upcoming hearing and we were told the attorney we spoke with previously would not be the one representing us, instead it would be Ed Ryals. We were seeking an aggressive attorney who would not back down from opposing counsel, we did not not receive that from Mr. Ryals. He met us at the court house for the first hearing the day after our consultation and he walked right past us because he couldn’t recognize us from the day before as he forgot his glasses. Without his glasses he wasn’t able to read the notes he had taken from the day before, essentially fumbling for words not putting up any defense. Due to the facts not being presented my husband was held in contempt and a $10,000 cash only bond was ordered which wouldn’t have happened had Mr. Ryals presented the facts. In total Mr. Ryals appeared twice in court ( lost miserably both times) and due to us having a credit card on file it was billed $15,000 before we caught it and they’re still claiming there’s another $5,000 owed! They literally made our case worse by allowing fees to be awarded that should not have been.That is coming from another attorney that represented us after Stange Law Firm and they have the audacity to bill without our authorization for services that were not rendered. The charges were for numerous hours Mr. Ryals claims to have spent preparing yet he put up no defense. We don’t recommend this law firm but definitely do not let Ed Ryals anywhere near your case.

I have used this law firm for the last 9 months or so. They have done little to nothing for me. They have gone to court 1 time for me and have charged me over $5000. I am on my 3rd lawyer with the firm. The first 2 lawyers I had quit after I paid them a couple thousand $$$ each. Now the firm wants me to give them another $5000. Buyers beware...

Teresa Moreno took over my case since my previous lawyer left the firm. I wish Teresa had been my Attorney through this whole case. She responded quickly to my emails and questions. She also sent me a monthly client letter informing me of updates and also my trust account balance. I highly recommend her. If I need a family lawyer in the future I would definitely ask for Teresa Moreno.

My Attorney was Teresa Moreno out of the Edwardsville, IL office. During and after my divorce, I had dealt with 4 other attorneys. The 4 other attorneys accomplished less in 2 years than Teresa was able to in a few short weeks. In addition, she never left me uninformed as to what was going on.

The process of divorce is stressful and can consume you. Not getting correct or little to no information then being surprised a few days before court is unfair to a client. Teresa at no time left me uniformed. She challenged me to make sure I was saying and doing all the right things. She was detailed and wrapped up the case quickly with the best results I could hope for.

I would recommend Teresa to any client going through a divorce. She will represent you fully and not coddle the opposing council but will be respectful and establish a working relationship with them. This is very important to resolve issues quickly and cost-effectively.

Update: I had started my business relationship with Stange as a client of Kristen Strieker, who is no longer with this firm and upon which this update does not reflect. My case had still not been finalized when she left and I was transferred to a different lawyer. From there everything went completely downhill. This firm has no idea how to treat their clients. Client care was rude and did not take my concerns with billing and the legal process seriously. I was constantly unable to 'reach' anyone that would help me. I was charged for legal work that I was never given any proof that it was completed. I was charged for preperation for a hearing that was canceled due to weather, then within a week Stange tried to withdrawal from my case, but of course not after billing me first. This is borderline malpractice. Over $1500 for 'preperation' for a trial that was canceled and for work I was never shown. At my final hearing I was the one answering informational questions to the judge b/c my 'lawyer' has no idea of any of my case details. In the end, I had to file things on my own to get them completed b/c this firm incorrectly filed it 4 TIMES with the circuit clerk. (Of which I proof) DO NOT USE THIS FIRM. I will be sure to let anyone I know not to use this firm, and I will be a loud voice b/c I work very closely to this industry.

Tom Gatheman is my attorney and has done an awesome job with helping with my case. I hired him Jan. 2014 to help with a child support/custody case and he has done triple the amount of work than what my old attorney did. My case has come a long way in the last six months compared to the 4 1/2 previous years. He is very dedicated and does his research for my case. Tom is always prepared for court and I believe he will help me get what I deserve in the closure of my case.

I had recently contacted this office to handle a delicate matter involving my child. I am from PA and needed counsel in IL. I contacted them via email from their website and received a prompt and courteous response from the client intake person. She forwarded me the proper documents to have a consultation with Kristen Strieker. This was supposed to happen on Wed. at 9am. It is currently 1:15 pm and i have heard NOTHING from anyone at this office. Perhaps it is just because i am out of state and a father, therefore not as important or perhaps it is just because they were simply to busy to help me. regardless of the reasons for ignoring me I feel very disappointed in this firm ESPECIALLY with all the positive reviews. Thank you Strange Law Firm, as well as Kristen for ignoring me and making this the absolute WORST experience i have ever had with a law firm.
