I was charged with a DUI and hit-and-run in Kansas. I was given Jay's name from several folks as the "best of the best" to defend this type of case. I interviewed Jay and 3 other lawyers that were referred to me. I ultimately hired Jay and it was the best decision I could have made. Jay has been amazing throughout this entire process, which has been difficult from an emotional, social, and career standpoint. Because I didn't want to go to trial and risk a DUI conviction, Jay worked his tail off to get me the best possible diversion deal. He's been available to me every step of the way, including giving me his cell number and responding to my texts and calls almost immediately. Jay is brutally honest and doesn't sugar-coat things, which I truly appreciated -- it helped me to appropriately evaluate my next steps instead of having false hope. I would hire Jay all over again and I highly recommend him if you find yourself in the unfortunate circumstance of needing of a criminal defense attorney.

Like that previous guy wrote, do not give this man Jay Norton your money. He is a professional con, like many attorneys. This man will try to ease you in slowly, give you time to think, and then in you go in got the kill! Don't get desperate because you believe he will "help you out". He can't help you more than you can help yourself because he already knows the system and will work you in like a worm feeding on dead prey. Don't buy into his garbage fake reviews like the one's he wrote below (people don't even talk like that!).
Again, be careful people, this man is a professional and he has been doing this his whole life! You have been warned!

Jay is the most knowledgeable lawyer I have ever worked with. In the time he represented me there were multiple times where he explained the law in a particular area only to be proven right by the judge. In addition to his expertise I appreciated the fact that he explained the law to me, explained the options I had, and provided guidance yet ultimately looked to me for a decision. When dealing with a life changing situation like this it was invaluable to have a lawyer that has your back like Jay did!
The negative review by the other individual seems bogus. My case went almost two years so I've had significant interaction with him. Jay is a straight up individual.
After being charged with a DUI I was scared and did not know what to do and called Jay on a Friday evening. He offered to meet me first thing the next morning (obviously a weekend) and work through the specifics of my case. Jay was honest and did not sugar-coat the risk of my decision but put me at ease with his knowledge and confidence around the legal process. Jay impressed me most when in a preliminary hearing he was able to present evidence that was new to even the judge and prosecutor with printed copies in hand to prove his point successfully. While advising me, Jay left the decisions in my hand every step of the way. Jay never encouraged me to plea or take a charge as I said from day one that was not an option in my mind. The case ended in a jury trial where Jay fought for two days to defend my innocence. The result of this work and time was a verdict of 'not guilty.' I could not give a higher recommendation - Jay works with integrity, is confident in the courtroom and knows the law better than anyone else I have experienced. I refer him to anyone who finds themselves in a tough situation as I know he will fight as hard for them as he did for me.
Comments like "crook" and "dishonest" sound like someone who does not understand the legal system. I knew walking in the door there were potential ramifications for the perceptions of my drinking and legal involvement the night of my arrest. Never did I consider my counsel a 'guarantee' no matter how great of a reputation he has. I lost sleep plenty of nights knowing Jay would do what he could - but the legal process particularly with a jury is uncertain. I would encourage those who have lost their cases under his representation and feel the need to label to take into consideration the factors that might have influenced this loss. Why slander someone's career and name when much has to do with the process and your own decisions. I know I made the right choice with my representation and would say that even if I had lost the case because he fought for me every step of the way.

This guy is such a bad and unprofessional attorney! Doesn't call back, doesn't email and in the end, what happened? I got left hanging holding the bag, now my license is gone and I'm on diversion? Why did I even pay this guy. Do not give this guy your money, he is a super con-artist.

I would highly recommend Jay. I had my DUI in 2018 and it was a hit and run as well as following too close. Jay was an amazing lawyer all throughout the process. Most of my court dates he was able to waive my appearance. He is always honest and straightforward. He worked out a great deal with the prosecutor on my case. I was bad at communicating with him but he still kept me informed on what was going on. Every decision on my case he would let me choose between my option of what I wanted. All of it through was on my decision. He’s very knowledgeable in his work and he has fought for me throughout the process of my case. One time I was late to my trial and he was able to convince the prosecutor to extend it and they did. He explained everything to me on my case and he is an amazing attorney and very professional. If you find yourself looking for a great lawyer that would fight on your behalf, someone that is an expert at his work and knows the law. I would highly recommend Jay Norton. He would be your best option!
