I received a letter from this company about toll fees that I had already paid to Elizabeth River Tunnels. They were rude on the phone, and demanded I send a receipt. ERT can send them a receipt, this has been paid and settled for over a year.

Elizabeth River Tunnel Scam, yes you have to pay it. Yes it's whats wrong with our country.

Received notice of toll after 2 months. Website was down for a week. Received notice of non payment a couple weeks later. Went from $5 to 25 dollars.
Certain i paid it but received notice of debt a month later. $80 to clear my debt.

This is absolutely shady. Everyone needs to make money, how about we let our tax dollars pay for the roadway.

They are money hungry and not sympathetic

Victoria, the representative I spoke to would not let me speak to anyone above her authority, claiming her manager “was busy and not there”, I told her that I did NOT receive a bill for the tunnels, or a late fee bill. And she claimed it’s my fault they sent it to the wrong address, IF they even did that. Which I find hard to believe considering I’ve gotten every other bill sent to my updated address. After asking multiple times to speak to her manager she disconnected the line. I hope whoever is above her reads this because this is against any law offices in policy’s and I will be following through with a formal, written complaint. See you in court.

Incredibly rude customer service reps. I spoke to one who talked down to me throughout the whole conversation, even though, as I suspected, she could not prove that I actually owed a debt. To top it all off, she made up another debt that I owed from a "different toll road" right there on the spot! Extortion. These people ought to be sued.

This company buys fraudulent Elizabeth River Tunnel Toll debt. Elizabeth River then tells you there is nothing they can do and you must contact them to work it out. When you call them, they are nasty, won't let you speak, and then they are more interested in collecting their debt, then understanding the situation. The Virginia Commonwealth should investigate this scam.
