My father recently passed & we located a will & trust completed with this law firm in 2000. The paralegal with our probate lawyer contacted the law firm for contact information for one of the witnesses to complete an oath that is needed for the State of Florida. They had not received a response so I left a message with one of the attorneys. My message was professional and stated I was inquiring what was holding up the process. I was then called by an extremely upset lawyer from this firm saying that I was accusing them of not returning calls. When I asked if they could provide us with contact information for a witness, he said that they don't keep records past 7 years and that he had no idea what I was talking about. In all his years he was never asked this information, even for wills being submitted to courts in FL. He continued to berate me for "accusations" and was unwilling to help us contact witnesses that their firm provided my parents. Our paralegal then received a call from an assistant there saying that she could put some "feelers" out. Before doing a will with this law firm I'd confirm in writing that they keep records longer than 7 years and if they provide witnesses then I'd make sure they will provide contact information to authenticate if you move out of state.
