Very professional and timely for Real Estate transactions

My fiancé and I are extremely dissatisfied with our experience here and do not recommend this firm. We closed on our first home and used Wulfhorst because of the short commute to his office, which I DEEPLY REGRET.

To begin, upon closing we wrote our earnest money check and it was delivered to them by our realtor the next day. The check was not cashed until 3 WEEKS LATER... and did not clear from our accounts until almost the week of closing. We called almost every day asking about the check to be told by the receptionist first that the lawyer was out of town for the week (understandable, figured it would be taken care of once he returned the following Monday). That week rolls around, didn’t clear, we call again and she said Tuesday the checks will be deposited. Thursday rolls around, we call, she said the check was brought there Tuesday and she did not know why it hasn’t shown up yet. Friday rolls around, we call and ask, she said “I personally took it there myself today”. But you said you did Tuesday? Okay.

The check did not clear until a week after this conversation. Considering it was a $1k check, I’m pretty concerned about the lack of concern, effort, and understanding of real estate law as a time sensitive practice.

As soon as we saw it cleared from our accounts we let our mortgage company know and sent the bank statements... given they had a 3 week setback at fault of the attorney, we know they were on a time crunch to get all of our paperwork done in time for closing. The underwriter stayed late to ensure everything was complete. So thank you to them.

Wulfhorst received our closing instructions the day of our closing and COMPLAINED ABOUT IT BEING LAST MINUTE. I’m sorry sir, but if I’m not mistaken you should thank them for not delaying our closing date because YOU failed to deposit a single earnest money check for weeks. Another note, my name was left off of the deed, which he corrected the day of but not without complaint.... our realtor ensured that in the contract my name was definitely on there as well as my fiancé... maybe a mistake by them? I wouldn’t be surprised.

Flash forward to the day after closing... we are trying to find out when we can get there to pick up our keys. The title process is online and should take no more than an hour... but we didn’t get our keys until 2:30 I think? We called the receptionist several times who told us our realtor was currently on the line with Mr. Wulfhorst. Texted my realtor right away asking if he had gotten any word, and he HAD NOT CALLED THERE ONCE THAT DAY. A blatant lie from the receptionist... again, I am extremely dissatisfied with them. It felt unprofessional and made the whole process 100x more stressful than homebuying already is.

Very unresponsive and hard to get a hold of. When you do get ahold of him he gives you the run around and is NEVER prepared for court. I have had two continuances both time the charges could have been dismissed. The first court date he called before court and told me that if I didn’t pay him before court, he would not represent me. On top of that, he was an hour and a half late. Today he told me he would be there and he never showed. I’ve paid him outrageous amounts of money to get this resolved and I’m very dissatisfied with his work and neither times he never explained why he was late and never showed up. He is the laughing stock of lawyers in N.C. He is a thief and crook. He never once made time for an actual face to face meeting with his CLIENT and when he represented me in court he told me and I quote “I’m in a hurry we need to get this done, so you are gonna plead guilty and we will get a continuance.” He never once considered my opinion or took them into consideration when given. Now I’ve missed multiple days of work for a boy that does not have a sense of time management or courtesy of his clients or any responsibility at that matter. You would be better representing yourself then to consider Todd Wulfhorst as your lawyer.

Unresponsive and not thorough - mistakes made and not helpful.

Lawyer refuses to communicate or return calls. Lawyer gave a time for an estate to be settled and when that time came and went he refuses to communicate or anything. This was a month and a half ago and still nothing. I am now homeless and it's a direct result of Todd Wulfhorst

Closed on a refinance for us. No problems at all, very friendly people.

Todd has helped me many times. I am about to use him again.

Wulfhorst was our property lawyer and I was very dissatisfied. He tried to impose his notions on our contract despite that the seller and I agreed on certain terms. He was also less than friendly at the time of purchase. After the home was paid for in full, it took 11 months for him to complete the paperwork. Three of those months the paperwork had been signed and ready to release, and despite frequent calls I kept getting the run-around. Only when I showed up in person did he release the paperwork, and didn't even speak to us or give a reason for the delay. He may be a home-town boy but I won't use him again and I will discourage others from doing so as well.

Bad experience (not the lawyer, the ones answering the phone)

the worst lawyer you could hire. not only is the receptionist a lying piece of crap. the lawyers their make it there goal to put you in jail. don't use this place!
