I have used Michelle's office on numerous occasions. I would not close elsewhere.

As the seller, I opted to pick up my check after closing on a Friday (we closed on a Friday after two postponed closing days). When I was notified that the check was ready for pick up, I arrived shortly after to find the office locked up tight with the lights out... at 4:30pm when the office hours are until 5pm... Interest on my money added up in HER account instead of mine. No note, no call, no email, no text... and worst of all... no apology when I finally got my check on the following Monday.
Very nice office. Great location and Michelle was always available to answer my questions. I would definitely recommend this office.

We moved down from Chicago and could not be more pleased with our closing process. This office was highly professional and knowledgeable. I definitely recommend Michelle's office.

I used Michelle's office for my closing and could not be happier. They made the entire process a piece of cake for me. I would definitely use them again if I buy another home in NC.

I moved down from Michigan and was very worried about the entire moving process. I had so many things to juggle such as getting the family (and the pets) down to NC, starting my new job, getting the kids ready for school, scheduling movers, etc.. Michelle's office made the process very smooth and easy. I did not have a single worry about my house closing. I highly recommend this firm.

Another happy home buyer!! I have used this office for over 10 years and love it. Margarita is always so friendly. Michelle always explains things so well to my clients. She puts my first time home buyers at ease. I would not close anywhere else.

This office is an absolute disgrace. The attorney refuses to communicate with her clients. She denied her request to speak with us via phone or in person to clear up an issue that she had reading a survey. In this line of work a real estate attorney should be competent in reading surveys and plats, however, she is not. She was unable to comprehend that a .1 acre deeded portion of property being conveyed to a neighbor along the property line was not in the yard of the purchase property. Although several experts were willing to discuss this with her, including the surveyor, she refused to communicate aside from through email which was getting nowhere. She then required that we pay for two incomplete sets of title work once we canceled because closing with her was clearly not an option. We had use this office two times prior and never experienced anything like this however, those were clear-cut closings and no communication was required until the day of closing. Clearly all this attorney is interested in is booking back to back closings, getting the checks from them, and being completely unavailable outside of the closings. Beware if any issues arise she will not address them appropriately, she will refuse to communicate with you, she will do your paperwork incorrectly, her and her office will lie to you multiple times, they will refuse to answer the phone or emails, and then they will charge you for their inaccurate and incomplete work . DO NOT CLOSE with this office. We finally have changed to an extremely competent attorney office around the corner who had no problem looking at the survey and plat ( and sitting down with me three times in two days to go over all of the information that Michelle’s office would not) it was obvious it was her mistake in reading them and we are now back at square one starting with this new office delaying our closing yet again. These properties were supposed to close almost 2 months ago. There are multiple other issues as well. The seller of the property received her documents with the incorrect address on it, emails and phone calls were made to correct this, a month later she had still not received new documents. The seller of the second property had made arrangements to go and close with office on May 30 and on May 29th had not been contacted that there was an issue (which again wasn’t actually an issue but a lack of preparation on the attorney offices end). Had she not spoken with me, the buyer, she would have never known that they were not to be at her office the next morning to close. Communication is clearly their downfall as well as incomplete and inaccurate work . Do your research. I was steered away from this office but chose to give them a chance again since they had done other properties for us… Big mistake. Incredibly rude, incredibly unprofessional and their customer service is despicable. I cannot warn you enough to stay away from the Law offices of Michelle Vereckey.
In addition her response to several other one star reviews seems to be a trend here that she claims people are not her client once they review her poorly... I am happy to add an uploaded photo of my invoice to her to prove that I was a client if it helps protect anyone else from going through this.

This was the most horrifying and unprofessional experience I have ever had, costing me not only hundreds in unnecessary expense, but also extreme stress, emotional turmoil, and almost the purchase of my home. I would never recommend or use this firm.

This firm is amazing! I used Mrs. Vereckey's office to buy and sell property and they made it so easy to close. I definitely recommend this office to anyone in need of an attorney who knows what she is doing!

Michelle has closed around 100 real estate transactions for my clients and all have praised her great service and communication: before, during and after the transaction! I have also been a client of the firm personally and have had nothing but great experiences with Michelle and the entire firm. I attend closings at many attorney offices every year and none compare to the great service and communication that Michelle and her staff provide.

When I purchased a home in Waxhaw NC the realtor suggested using Michelle Verecky for closing. I am very pleased that we did. The whole experience was smooth and easy. She did a great job and her staff was responsive, efficient and knowledgeable. I have recently contacted her for assistnace in a different matter. Highly regarded by my wife and I.

I have used this firm for counsel across a spectrum of services including a real estate closings, my personal trust, an easement dispute, and business contracts. The professionalism and responsiveness of the staff is exceptional. All of the people at this office are friendly and helpful. I have never failed to reach Ms. Vereckey - she even provided me with her mobile number. The advice I have received has been exactly what I needed and in many cases more than I expected. Ms. Vereckey is adept at translating complex legal issues into a framework a non-lawyer can understand.

We had an extremely poor experience with Vereckey PLLC on a land purchase. My prior review with details generated a legal response from Vereckey PLLC resulting in this amended version. We would have pursued a Better Business Bureau complaint against Vereckey PLLC to recover the disputed monetary amount, however; BBB does not handle claims about the quality of legal services. I will never utilize the services of Vereckey PLLC again.

As a first time home buyer I was very nervous to go through the process of buying a home. Michelle's office contacted me as soon as they began work on the file, and kept in contact with me throughout the process. When closing time came there were some delays, not from the attorney, and she still worked me in on a Friday so I could move in over the weekend. The documents were also thoroughly explained to me, I would definitely recommend this office for any real estate matters!

This attorney is extremely unprofessional. When I tried to speak with Michelle Vereckey regarding a concern she was very rude. The firm did not inform me of a closing issue they had knowledge of a month prior to closing and I only found about the problem when I called the night before I was set to close. I would not recommend this firm to anyone and the agent I worked with also stated the firm was not helpful and would never be recommended again.

Words cannot describe how scary it is that this woman has a license to practice law.
I don't even know if Michelle Vereckey actually works because she has her paralegal do everything, including give legal advice.
I recently closed a real estate sale and we decided to use Vereckey out of convenience (The house was in Monroe). BIG Mistake! I was the listing agent on a house that had an upcoming foreclosure sale date. We found a buyer and went under contract. Vereckey pulled the title report and there were 2 old judgements that had been discharged in a 2012 bankruptcy. Vereckey's paralegal told everyone involved that these judgements were valid and the house could not close. They clearly were not valid judgements. The bankruptcy petition showed they had been discharged debts.
Vereckey's paralegal's advice was that the seller or buyer needed to pay $55k in invalid judgements or the house could not transfer title. Not once did Vereckery herself step in and talk to the Realtors, buyers or three other bankruptcy attorneys we had advising on the judgements. Everything went through the paralegal.
Had any of us listened to this awful legal advice, the buyer would have paid $55k in invalid judgements to close, or the house would have foreclosed, the seller would have a foreclosure on their record, and the buyer would have lost his dream house.
We took the closing to another attorney who understood the law and had no issue obtaining title insurance and closing the deal. We had to pay extra to this attorney to rush closing because Vereckey sat on the file for a few weeks before giving us a clear answer on the judgements.
Vereckery's paralegal (Because remember Vercerkey never answered emails, took phone calls or was involved in this file in anyway) then pursued the buyer for a $250 doc prep fee to cover their work on the file. Their website outlines the work included in a doc prep fee: Preparation of loan files and disbursement of funds. They did neither of these things.
The only thing this law firm provided was horrible, incorrect legal advice through a paralegal. They are incompetent and clearly inexperienced.
Stay away!
