Concha can be trusted to have your best interest in mind, and if a case doesn't look good he will be honest with you and lay out your options, the ball is always in your court though!
He is a busy guy, but follow all instructions/recommendations, submit paperwork in a timely matter and trust his process!!!! Be patient, he's on it, legal matters take time to produce the best outcomes but it's worth it.
I will say the only negative experience my family or I have ever had was in 2016 when a new receptionist was hired. She made us uncomfortable to work with Concha and we were hesitant to continue doing business with the practice at that time. Since then Brenda has returned and continues to make everyone that walks into the office feel like family.
Working with Concha truly has been an empowering experience, I always know I'm in good hands when I call (or email).
TLDR: trustworthy, transparent, but be patient + follow instructions!
His assistant totally rude they late in the office have to go next door to find out about them and when finally she arrived very rude don't even greet us, been there waiting until she decided to talk about 20 when our case was really an emergency
I came in yesterday with my husband. Contrary to what we experienced with the last attorney, Concha actually had the steps laid out in front of us and the costs were disclosed up front. Scattered around the office were awards upon awards of his achievements and I can see why. He looked us in the eye and gave us the whole story, the good and the bad, he gave us the truth. He gave us a plan and realistic time frame to have everything filed and paid. I really liked that he didn't try to scare us into dishing out all these fees right now.
In fact, it really seemed like the money wasn't even that important to him. I came extra prepared and was able to skip a small process that he normally gets paid for and from the looks of it, he didn't even care!
We expected that we would get an off reaction because we are a same-sex couple. This could not have been farther from the truth. When we disclosed our marital status, he didn't miss a beat and continued as he would with any other client. He assured us that because of the supreme court ruling we are just another married couple in the eyes of the law. I truly felt that my husband was in good hands.
Based on my experience (take this as you may) I feel that David Concha is the ONLY immigration attorney to go to in Charlotte. It looks like he studied law to help people and still has the same enthusiasm as the day he made that decision. I believe that money is not his driving factor. His rates are half of what we originally thought and I feel that if he had no bills to pay, he would do this voluntarily. I made sure to get extra business cards to hand out to our friends as I truly recommend him to the anyone in fear of the current BS laws that affect immigrants. When we left we had a much brighter outlook on the situation. We know what to do, we know not to do, and most importantly, we know who WE will be contacting if things go south.
(more details to follow as our case progresses)
BRAVO David.... BRAVO ! ! !
Not only would I recommend David as a lawyer that thoughtfully considers the individuals he represents but also as a person who is loyal almost to a fault.
This attorney had no problem accepting payment for my husband's case, but never produced ANY results in any way, shape or form. My husband never even received an interview. In fact, I had to return to the United States just to go to the USCIS department in Charlotte, and inquire as to what was going on with the case. After an ENTIRE YEAR of absolutely NO information, Mr. Concha only went to inquire about the case once I myself had already returned to the country to do so. At that time, we found out that his case had conveniently been "lost" (it was sitting on the shelf the whole time) and "forgotten." After getting the process started AGAIN, Mr. Concha's secretary proceeded to tell me I'd have to find a co-sponsor since I hadn't earned enough to sponsor my husband myself. Of course I hadn't! I had moved out of the country to prove "hardship" of living abroad. Why didn't Mr. Concha tell me I'd have to show proof of certain finances in order to win our case? After informing the attorney's office that I couldn't find a co-sponsor, his secretary said that there was nothing Mr. Concha could do then. Basically, without a co-sponsor we were screwed. So, my husband tried to enter illegally, got caught and was sent back. Once that happened, Mr. Concha's secretary said there was nothing the attorney could ever do, that my husband was barred from the United States for life, and our original documents were returned. All this over the course of almost two and a half years. I would have illegally entered the USA, too, had I been seperated from my children for that long! What a joke. Save your thousands (not to mention YEARS of struggle for a simple petition) for an attorney that actually cares enough to inform you of the process involved, what all you'll have to do to win your case, and doesn't have you constantly speaking with a receptionist who doesn't know what's going on, or really even CARE. That's the bottom line of it all...
THIS ATTORNEY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HIS CLIENTS. If he did, I would not be a single mother of three small children (one disabled), having to live off of government assistance to care for my family. It's sickening really. My husband tried to do the right thing to be a legal resident of the United States, and now it's my children and I who have to suffer. Now I understand why so many just live here illegally.
