A relative of mine hired her for a divorce. After not answering any calls for over a couple of weeks we did some research on her and read dozens of bad reviews. We then froze the payment. After freezing the payment she finally contacted us via a different number and claimed that we never called her even though we left messages. She then began to threaten us because of the frozen payment. We told her we would pay for the services rendered and that we no longer needed her services. We asked for an nvoice. She sent several threats and wanted us to release the payment instead. Finally she sent us an outrageous invoice where she charged us several hundred dollars for researching Google for bad reviews of herself because she found out we left a bad review for her on Google. She also now was charging $125 for the "FREE" consultation and charged us for the threatening text messages she was sending us. Furthermore, she charged us several hundred dollars for calling our credit card company about the payment that we froze. These are all items that we should NOT have been charged for. On top of these items she came up with other items to charge us for that were not attorney functions. Basically, we gave her a $2,500 retainer and she only filed the original motion for divorce and had the defendant served with the divorce paperwork. After that is when she completely started avoiding our calls. To add to the fire, the defendant was representing himself at the time and sent his response to the divorce via certified mail to the response address Brooks Wiggins had put down on the divorce motion. This was also the address of the office where I went for my consultation. The letter came back as undeliverable with the reason of "vacant". This is what really caused us to start calling her even more and leaving messages to which we never received a reply. This is why we froze the payment. It seems that according to the bad reviews she'said stiffed a few people and we didn't want to be her next victims. So keep in mind, she literally only filed 1 motion and filed for service on defendant. At most that may have been worth maybe around $600. However, she invoiced us over $2,400 at this point once she finally replied. We let her know exactly why we were relieving her of her services and instead of being professional if she really wasn't intending to rip us off, she grew angry and started threatening and accusing her own client of fraud. She is far from professional and a terrible attorney. Don't waste your time with her. Do your research and read all her reviews. By the way, she made us remove our bad review and then had friends put up 10-15 five star reviews the following day. If you read her good reviews just look at the date they were all posted. Also, I believe she also used anot online freelancer site to purchase some of her reviews as they are obviously not written by native English speakers but have American names. The reviews don't even make sense.
She threatened to file a law suit against us at which point we invested some money to do some serious investigating. One shocking fact about her is that she married Kenneth Dunlap, a true criminal with MULTIPLE FELONIES for BREAKING AND ENTERING and DOMESTIC ABUSE for beating his ex-wife, Robyn Dunlap. No wonder she chooses not to take his last name. Dunlap is a hardened criminal who at some point turned informant for Saline County in a high profile case to avoid prison time. She is well aware of his criminal background as she herself represented him for a breaking and entering felony charge. Her colleague represented Dunlap on previous charges as well. It seems very unprofessional to me that an attorney not only marries her client, but a criminal at that.
Either way, don't take my word for it. DO YOUR OWN RESEARCH and you'll find the same information that I found.
BOTTOM LINE - Don't use this attorney unless you want to go through the same stressful hassle that we had to deal with!

Ms. Wiggins has been our family attorney for over 9 years. She is easy to get a hold off and always willing to answer any questions you have. Her number has never changed and you can't miss her office right across the street from courthouse in downtown Benton. She is a fierce attorney and will fight for you. My family highly recommends her. If you want your case handled the right way then hire her.
