Bill Doutt from Cannon Hadfield Stieben & Doutt was my personal injuries attorney twice when i got into two bike accidents two years in a row. Both times another party was liable. Because of him, I was able to pay off my medical bills and have some extra money to live on while i recovered from my injuries and trauma. The settlement included his wage so i didn't have to pay anything. He is very gentle, kind, level headed and a good listener. I share these compliments without the up most sincerity. I have encountered more lawyers since working with Bill because of my activism and I am still very impressed with Bill Doutt. Sorry for this extremely long review. It’s hard to express how amazing Cannon Law firm is because my case migrated with them when they started their law firm, so my details might not be the same for everyone. I will say this; all the employees including partners of Cannon Law firm treated me with respect every time I came in. They kept me in the loop on my progress. While my car accident was severe, I was expecting my case to go its full 3 year waiting period and then into a lengthy trial. However, they did better than that. For my case they put together all the facts really well, presented the information to the insurance company and 7 months later, the insurance just settled my case for the full amount. However, there are caveats to this for anyone reading this review. Every case is different and there are a lot of variables involved, therefore not every case will go this smoothly. Also, I think that respect goes a long ways. By trade I am in science/engineering and an IT expert. That is my area, so I didn’t tell them what the law was, I was very patient, and let them do their job because they have other cases than just mine or maybe even yours. Cannon Law firm is so amazing I am going to use them in the future for anything that is their field of expertise which is wide ranging (awesome!). For what it’s worth when I found my attorney (Gordon) at Cannon Law firm it was a great relief and a lot of stress was lifted. Sam and their team are equally amazing. They do such awesome work and the people are so great before my case came to a settlement offer I bought them a gift card so they can all get lunch at Jay’s Bistro, a great place to eat if you haven’t eaten there yet. As you can possibly guess the gift card is because they are amazing people and people like them don't come around too often and I wanted to show my appreciation.

Now for my 2 cents not related to the law firm. I have talked to about 12 -15 lawyers here in Larimer County (Fort Collins / Loveland) and 1 highly recommended attorney in Denver. Here is my wealth of knowledge that I hope helps you out. Don't be afraid to talk to lots of lawyers, don't settle on a lawyer, and have realistic expectations. More importantly pick a lawyer you are comfortable with, mine just happened to be (Gordon & Sam). When I started looking I was thinking 25% was fair. I quickly learned that 33.33% is the standard starting rate for an attorney. So I had to cope with that realization. I then learned that most attorney's have a sliding rate from 33%-40+% if they go to trial. I wasn't comfortable with the sliding rate. There are very few attorneys that don't have a large sliding rate. They have their reasons for the high sliding rate, but I disagree with them and think it's part of doing business. So I kept looking till I found an attorney I was comfortable with (Gordon). For me I wanted some one that had no sliding rate or a minimal one, and more importantly I wanted someone that was going to treat me with respect and like a human being that is recovering from a major car accident and not someone that is just a number or dollar sign to them.

Moreover, if you need rehab from an accident don't skip out on it, rehab is extremely important and I have seen the differences in the recovery for people whom finished rehab and those whom have not. Even when you get to the point where you feel fine but there is still rehab left to do, there is a reason why there is still rehab. Car accident cases have a very natural process when it comes to resolution. Unfortunately, it's not a quick process. However with the right attorney, its a rewarding process. When you get your settlement I highly urge you to invest the money to have it make you more money.

After my case has finished the last stages of settlement, I will be posting all of my negative reviews for all the bad attorney's I have met in Northern Colorado and Denver.
