Kelly Peterson is a very experienced attorney who works hard for his clients. I would highly recommend him. Has a great staff.

Kelly Peterson is by far the worst attorney we have dealt with. We have been dealing with a very complicated custody battle with my husband's ex wife and hired Kelly when our family attorney was unavailable for the dates of the hearing. Kelly took a $1500 evergreen retainer over the phone with the stated understanding that we would need to replenish the $1500 at the end of each month or his services would cease and desist. After 1 week and the first hearing, when he came unprepared and unfamiliar with the emails we sent containing the information he requested, we knew we had to part ways with him as soon as possible. Also, he went into a negotiation with the GAL attempting to offer terms or a deal on my husband's behalf which we had no knowledge of until afterwards. He seemed visibly frustrated and suggested that my husband should just avoid going to the following hearing. Now his automated system is trying to double bill me for services we're already paid for in advance. If anyone else is having a similar problem, we'd love to hear about it, maybe we can compare notes. :)
I'd give him negative stars if I could, to counter all the other 5 star posts written by " real " clients of his. If you can imagine the kind of person it takes to conjure up all the fake positive reviews you'll have a vague idea of Kelly P.

Very friendly people to work with. They work super hard and they get the job done. it took a lot of stress off on me during my divorce because they answer all my questions and help me in any way possible.

First Kelly sat down and looked at my entire file with me. (My previous attorney never read it). He had me do stuff for myself. He provided a sample chronology which was helpful. He’s very organized. Now the other side is he has no compassion and even said 165 miles won’t stop my ex from killing me. He does what he wants even when you are the client and it’s your child & life affected. He talks to you like you are being cross examined. He didn’t present evidence that showed 100 broken court orders that the other side did. Even taking my child out of state during my parent time twice. He said other clients tell him that he doesn’t understand. The other side made an offer 2 days before court. Kelly never explained how it worked and even added stuff that benefited the other side. He screwed me a lot by not presenting huge things like me going years without seeing my daughter. My ex got away with financial and emotional abuse because Kelly hid it for him. He also got a ton of parent time. A lot of time I felt like he wasn’t on my side. Maybe he is pro man. He also didn’t pay the GAL which the court ordered the attorneys to pay. The court said I couldn’t have any direct contact with the GAL. He paid multiple times then the last one assumed I would pay. I was actually in contempt because he didn’t pay. Then I kept saying I never even saw a bill. Come to find out after me arguing with them they never sent it to me. He also has you sign a form in the beginning so he can drop you. I said I couldn’t afford anymore after 10s of thousands $$. He literally submitted it to the court immediately. He also requires your credit card number so it’s not like he wasn’t covered.
Now he had me sign that the custody evaluator report was part of the deal. My ex was supposed to pay this now I have to pay possibly thousands to get this report. It’s been 6 months and am finding more that Kelly didn’t protect my best interests. I continue to find out major issues that he should have done to defend me!
7-10-18 I just found out more negligence. My ex had taken my child out of state twice when it was my parent time. Kelly did nothing even after me constantly mentioning it. He buried it. There is a federal law against this called Parental Kidnapping Prevention Act! Also Kelly charged me full price for travel which is obscene and not the standard. So the idea he saved me money was absolutely a ridiculous.

I saw and spoke to several different lawyers prior to my consultation with Kelly. Each one made my case seem extremely complicated, difficult and frustrated me. Sitting down with Kelly lifted a weight off of my shoulders. I had a unique case. Mr. Peterson read through my information and discussed what action would be needed. It became quite evident that he had the experience I needed that the other lawyers I had spoken with lacked. Prompt action was taken in every step of the way. I got the results I was looking for.

I wouldn't even give this man one star! He has his assistant Ryan do all the work and doesn't even go over it. His assistants wrote up a protective order in concern with my granddaughter safety. It was written up incorrectly and the court employee caught it thank goodness! We paid over two thousand dollars for a lot of work and stress on our part and got nothing but a mess from this law firm! Thank God I was there for my daughter they would of taken advantage of her no doubt about it!! She was your client! But she found an awesome attorney to protect her and my granddaughter. Opposing wow!! Good one!!

I was nervous about using a Guardian Ad Litem at first because of some horror stories I heard about Guardian ad litem's siding with one or the other party out of bribery or they connected with the person better. I don't think I would be in the situation I am in without the help of Kelly. Our custody battle initially was a he said/she said battle, which isn't an easy to battle to fight, but bringing in a third party that had the kids best interest was really what helped my kids overall. They may not be happy about everything. They even told Kelly that they were not happy with some of his decisions and that they wanted another attorney, but in the end, they are happier and in a healthier place.

Kelly helped me gain temporary custody of my daughters. We were extremely prepared going into court. Our case was tight and clearly spelled out with a lot of hard evidence. Kelly guided me on much of the process so I didn't have to pay him a ton of money for all of the legwork. I had a ton of evidence going in and we had to whittle it down to 25 page per the court rules. However, Kelly creatively found a way to get more of my defense/evidence in front of the judge if we go to trial. Kelly Peterson jumped to conclusions, made false accusations, and did not even review my case before heading into the court room. It was a complete disaster. He wrote off documents, that later on, proved to be very important. He then told me that I should be like him and how he handled his divorce.
He told me that when my ex was being physically aggressive towards me, he just didn't know how to communicate and I shouldn't read into it so much and call it domestic abuse- even though that is what the police had called it in my reports.
I could not get this guy off my case fast enough.
Waste of time and money! He is completely conceded and arrogant. He also admitted he was very pro-dad in his legal work - which would have been nice to know BEFORE hand.
