I worked with Spencer Thomas and cannot speak to the quality of the other attorneys at this firm.

Mr. Thomas took a case for me in 2015 on an employment issue. For several months I emailed him repeatedly asking for simple information about the progress of my case. He failed to reply at almost every instance. Finally, shortly before our court date I sent him a somewhat panicked email, needing to know if I needed to find another attorney and reschedule the court date. He finally replied, so I did not do so.

On the date of trial, immediately prior to walking into the court room, Mr. Thomas asked me very basic, I mean, EXTREMELY basic questions about the case. It very quickly became that he did very little, if any preparation for trial.

After trial, where I lost, the opposing party approached Mr. Thomas and asked if we wanted to settle, probably knowing I was going to appeal and find another attorney. Mr. Thomas suggested that I settle, so I agreed. However, when I emailed him and asked him for information about the settlement, again, he failed to reply.

I do not know about any of the other attorneys at Esplin & Weight, but I wouldn't trust Spencer Thomas to walk my dog.

Scott Weight has been absolutely amazing to work with. He is very knowledgeable and an extremely hard worker. He always responds to emails and voice mails the same day I contact him and takes calls if he is in the office (things you would expect from a professional but don't always get). He has helped me through a difficult modification of a divorce decree. He has always been professional and his fees are incredibly reasonable. You won't find better value for your money anywhere. I cannot say enough good about Scott or the legal services he provides. I highly recommend Scott Weight.

UPDATE: I had court last week with Scott. He was extremely prepared for the hearing. He knew the facts of the case better than I did. Spencer Thomas has been assisting me for about 5 years now for multiple different cases. He is effective, friendly, and he cares. (this is risky for a lawyer that has to work with these people regularly) He focused on our needs, not his own many times. He had a baby girl during our trial and despite the birth of his child, he continued to stay late in the evenings to meet the demands of our trial. He listened to our concerns and our needs and actually took that information to the judge directly when we needed him to do so. I will definitely use him in the future when and if the need arises.
