What a joke! This place is horrible, the absolute worst. Fall behind on one payment and you're absolutely screwed. They will not work with you at all, there's no options once you miss a payment besides garnishment, I've tried several times to work something out to be able to pay this and all they say is no no no. Absolutely the worst company ever I would never do business with this place. I'll be quitting my job and working at McDonald's, you can take 25% of my $100 paychecks. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!

My wife has has a good experience working with them. The only thing I wish they had is auto-pay service. They kinda leave it up to you to remember to pay without any sort of reminder and my wife forgot one month and they did not even call to let her know and charged her 400 more on top of the 400 in attorney fees and the original balance and said they where going to look into removing assets like a car to pay the balance. She had quite a few panic attacks. I think a courtesy call before they go to those measures would be nice. I know they are just doing their job and it's our fault for letting debts go to collections but courtesy last chance to pay call or auto-pay would be nice. Although it's in their best interest not to offer those services.
Update: They called me and said that I do have an auto-pay option which is nice and I will be enrolling in it. I wish the lady who set up my case had offered that in the first place! Thanks!!!

Scam artist, Bottom feeders.. worst than parasites. Unprofessional. Couldn't hack it as a real attorney, so he became a debt collector. Sad. I really pity anyone who works here, you gotta know no respectable person would.

I am trying to pay my payment that is due, and their website to pay with a credit card is down! It won't pull up for me and I cant call them because it is a Saturday. There is nothing I can do.

Look i dnt work there but ive spoken and dealt with them in court. I was happy with their courteous and professional manner. Theyre just doing their jobs i was offended when they couldnt give me legal advice or info so i sought out my own to figure out what was right. I think its important to educate yourself on handling matters like this. All of the workers I spoke with were kind. Sorry to those who had a bad experience but mines was good. We're currently settling our debt with them, and have to call them every month and still receive the same nice professionalism from every person. Aloha

Needed help with a situation where I was sent to this law firm despite making payments to my doctor, I was apparently sent to collections, which is a story in itself. I tried getting information over the phone from Olson Shaner, and never in my life have I spoken to ruder people, and not to mention predatory. People who are not lawyers do not understand all of the terminology they use, and they treat you like you are a moron. I hope these people can live with themselves, because they are horrible.

I only give one star because this is the only way we can leave any comments. A collections account of $115 showed up on my husband’s credit report a couple of months ago. It was for a $60 copay for a doctor’s office that they didn’t collect at time of service, and then sent the bill to an old address. We never got it. No big deal, we called the number on the credit report to get it taken care of. The number was for N.A.R. They redirected us to the Attorney’s office; Olson Shaner, stating they couldn’t take the payment and we would have to work with them. When we called the number N.A.R provided the recording referenced a website that we could make the payment on. Cool. We went to the website, and it was a jewelry store. What the??? Back to square one. We called N.A.R again, and kept getting the run around so we dropped it for a couple weeks. When we called Olsen Shaner again about 2 weeks ago, we finally got a real live person, however we were then informed the debt had gone from $115 to $468?!?! My husband tried to get them to take a settlement, they said no. He then asked for paperwork that he signed that showed he would pay over 7x the amount of the original debt. They said they would mail it…still waiting on that document. My husband decided to call back the same day and was put in touch with another lady who said her coworker was mistaken and that they would take a settlement. This was on a Friday. She told us the paperwork would be sent to my husband and she would call the next week. The paperwork came, the call did not. On the paperwork it shows the debt now upwards of $556, but they would settle for $500. We called again today, now we are back to dealing with N.A.R who is representing themselves as Olson Shaner, to try and get the settlement decreased and get it taken care of. We were informed that they were not going to reduce the amount and that they would setup a payment plan, but that they were going to still enforce an accrual of 18% per day interest. How is this legal???? All we tried to do from the day we found out the debt existed was pay it, and now we've succumbed to this; complete frustration and no resolution.

Changed from a one star. Very frustrating company to work with. After several days of trying to settle this debt with what I believed was a very fair offer, I finally spoke with Justin and he was the first person there that seemed to care that I was actually trying to make things right. Every time I called I was spoke down to and honestly made to feel like they didn’t want me to pay the debt and that they were more interested in going to court and keeping the VERY high interest rolling! BUT..... in time, the accepted my offer, allowed me to settle this debt, and move on with all of our lives. Didn’t care for the experience as I’ve never had so much trouble with a debt collector as most of them are either willing to settle on the spot, or they inform you that the debt must be paid in full. Terrible over all experience with Olson Shaner (Justin is the exception to that) but at the end of the day (or in this case nearly a week) they were very fair and I was able to settle the debt at a price I believe, and obviously they did too, that was fair for all parties involved.

Scumbags period. And to the idiot 5 star reviewer it’s obviously the owner or a worker doing a fake review of these scheisters.

This place is worse than a towing company, don't ask for a emailed receipt that is too difficult for them and don't ask for a signed receipt saying paid in full they won't do that either places like this need to be shut down

Scandalous, you have to be one heartless person to give business to these people. I'm not perfect and some of my back surgery bills had to be put off, I have been paying them off, slowly, but apparently forgot about one. I have received TWO notices from these scam artists the second being a judgment against me from a court date I was never given. These people are lower than pond scum. Will be filing q complaint with the bar association and with the BBB. I suggest EVERYONE do the same.

I had. Collection bill go into this company from not paying the bill for two months ( forgetting) I had never missed a payment. I had to write a letter to this place asking if I could make payments. I didn’t know the correct way of writing the letter so I asked a family friend attorney write it asking to make payments. Not hiring the attorney, I call Shane Olsen to ask if I could get a balance to see what I owe and not one time or one person will speak to me all because an attorney wrote my letter. So as my interest builds up I do not know how much I owe nor will they send me receipts or a paper saying what I have paid or what I owe. This is the most stilupid collection process I have worked with. It was either pay it all 3,000 at once or they don’t speak to me and I have to probably pay on this for longer than I need to be.

I am in tears writing this. We were one payment away from paying our bill off, but due to one accidental late payment we now have hundreds more on our balance. I am just horrified... There is no sense of caring at all here. The original bill should have never even ended up in collections, as we were in the middle of trying to figure out where the mistake on our insurance's part was made when we were served. It seems like they take any and all chances they get to get more money out of people. I feel taken advantage of, and completely uncared for. We had huge plans to pay off multiple bills this month, this being one that would make a big difference for us. But we are set back by one accidental late payment. Every other payment we have made was well within the agreed upon times.
I am so frustrated, and sad that this company didn't even give us the courtesy of a call. We did not do anything to deserve this stressful, overwhelming situation. Our two little boys sure don't deserve to have parents stressed out so much over one bill.

As an EMPLOYER, this is the worst garnishment I have ever had to deal with! The people who answered the phone were unhelpful; the cover letter for the garnishment was threatening; they require a 4 page questionnaire to be completed and NOTARIZED for EACH PAY PERIOD! This is ridiculous!

This place has the worst people to deal with. They all claim to be Supervisors and if you miss one payment they will not work with you. I have a remaining balance due of about $150 left. Now it has jumped up to almost $500 again. Funny that they will send you an email to agree to a payment plan; they have your address and phone number but you will get no phone call or email or a letter saying you missed a payment. Instead they will mail you more court papers. This is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. You people that work there should feel ashamed of yourselves for being so horrible towards people just trying. Go get a better job!

I’ve never in my life been through a experience like this & this company has made it hell to work with!

We worked with this place to resolve a debt we let fall through the cracks, which we were more than willing to do, and the process was pretty easy. They set us up on a few payments, sent us the agreement, we made the payments on time and that was that. Nope, not quite... We received a letter a couple days ago saying we were in violation of our agreement, and that we still had a balance due on our account. It was a small amount, but that's not the point. I called this office to see if we could resolve the issue and have them explain why they didn't calculate the still accruing interest into the payments so when we made the last payment, the account would be settled. The only answer I got was, "Sorry, you agreed to those terms, you still owe us money." This is extremely unethical and very predatory behavior that is used to trick people into making the full payment and incur more fees onto their account. I have filed a complaint with the Utah Attorney General, which let's be honest, probably won't do anything, but these guys are the worst of the worst. Anyone who has to deal with these guys, please don't trust anything they say and pay very close attention to what they send to you.

I would give this company 0 stars if I could, absolutely worst experience ever trying to pay a debt, they wont give you any acct info, or work with you unless you can pay the debt in full. The rep I spoke to was absolutely rude and ignored all my questions and just kept saying I could make a payment but they were still going to take legal action, she never disclosed how to even make a payment. When I asked to speak to someone else she hung up on me. Poor company all the way around!!

Yeah, most people do not admire or like debt collection companies especially if they have let their debts go unpaid to the point of having to be sent to a debt collection attorney's office. You get services, you should pay for them. Period. Whomever provided the services to you just wants to get paid and would much rather not have to jump thru hoops and have to send it to collections just to get paid. Had you called the original creditor when it was still owed to them they would most likely have been more inclined to work with you on the balance. It sucks but it is the simple truth. You must remember if you are being sued you are not their customer or client so they owe you nothing. They are just doing their job and trying to get the service providers the money they are owed. By the time it goes to an attorney's office the debt has at least been owed for a year or more at that point. I would not like to get sued either but it would be my fault if I did! Logic goes a long way.

Very dishonest with their practices. Greed and low moral precede Olson Shaner. I know they have to represent their clients so they perhaps are getting the brunt of an even more unethical company, namely North American Recovery who collecting a medical debt after I had my baby. Mountain West Anesthesia was the orginal creditor. I moved and never recieved billing from then and became aware of a collection of more than $900 they are attempting to collect for an orginal debt of $244. I am super sad disappointed and frustrated that this is allowed to happen. I have called to settle the debt but they are unwilling to negotiate the debt. Their billing practices were unethical and dishonest. Stay away from Olson Shaner, North American Recovery (NAR) and Mountain West Anesthesia. You will regret it otherwise. Good luck.

Chip Shaner is a horrible person, probably the worst human besides (Trump) that I ever had to work with. He falsely accuses his co-workers of things that are simply false and then he is never man enough to apologize once he was proven wrong. I quit because of him. He made working at Olson Law Office equivalent to working in a prison cell, I dreaded going to work because of him. You couldn't look out the window, listen to music, look at your cell phone, take a bathroom break longer than 5 minutes or else he would accuse you of wasting time. Chip is extremely sexist, so if you are a female I highly recommend not working here-just run away as fast as you can. You suck Chip Shaner

Found out I have a writ of continuance for a past garnishment gaining interest on a $0 balance of 24% I received no notice of a pending bill I had to pay or that interest was even accruing. They spoke like a broken record that it's my bill and my responsibility. How can it be my responsibility if I didn't know anything about it. Absolute crooks fishing for money.

These are the most dishonest people I know. They make interns talk to people on the phone because the attorneys have no spines. The review where the guy says they're the best is one of their spineless paid for henchmen.

This group is horrible to deal with. I NEVER received a phone call only letters at my work place which were not even sent timely. I was dealing with a tragic death at the time as well. I called and explained this and tried to settle with them and they REFUSED to reduce their attorney fees which were more than the actual debt. Uncompassionate jerks. HORRIBLE! I would recommend staying away from these inhumane individuals. I hope someone treats them as poorly as they have me when dealing with a TRAGIC experience.

Absolutely the worst and most unprofessional conversation I have ever had. They do not LISTEN to a word you are saying and just keep talking over you and in circles not answering your questions. Apparently they can garnish your wages receive the Explanation of Benefits from insurance that PT RESPONSIBILITY IS ZERO. Turn around and discover that you saw an out of network provider even though with my insurance it does not matter what provider I see- IT IS COVERED. It is not their responsibility to communicate with me. WOW!! Not only that but don't expect them to ever receive anything you send them by fax or by e-mail, they will give you the run around about that as well. If I could give negative stars I would!

These people are absolute crooks!! Unbelievable ambulance chasers that will do anything to make it more difficult for you to pay on your account so they can charge more ridiculous and huge fees! Places like this should be put out of business by the BBB!! I'm going to turn in my experience to Get Gephardt. They served papers to my 13 year old autistic son and think that's a valid form of communication. Due to their miscommunication, a dental bill of about $150 ended up costing us over $850 due to lawyers fees, etc. I normally don't write reviews, but these people are so unethical, I've never seen anything like it (except maybe with used car salesmen)!! I hope the people that work in your office feel good about what they do for a living!! Get a real job!

Absolutely the shadiest attorney's office ever! When they "delivered" court proceedings papers, they left them on a table just inside the door. I didn't find them until the next day. No one signed for them!! I called to find out more and they didn't have many answers, but they told me, "leave a message for my supervisor and he will hopefully get back to you in a few days." What kind of office is this? Doesn't seem legal and very shady!!! I would never trust them with either of our businesses!!!!
