Tried to collect on a bill I paid and even faxed proof of the payment clearing my account. Also famous for trying to collect on medical bills for dates of services where you weren’t even seen by the doctor just to get paid again!!! How is he still allowed to practice law.

This place is nothing more than a bottom feeding ambulance chasing cult. Thay have stolen my mother's social security check and trying to throw her out of her home she is 80 years old and terminal sick and doesn't owe them a dime it's over a bill my wife owes that thay refuse to take payments on it's all or they take your home. The utah bar will be notified of there practice.

I am so disgusted with this place. For someone who’s supposed to be a collection agency they sure do refuse to take payments from you! The tactics they use are: Confuse You, Harass you, Refuse you, Serve you, Lie to you, Stall you, Garnish you.
They are so ridiculous, they had me so confused I paid them, I had paid Granger Medical off 3 times and still Parry’s office were saying I owed them and they collected on it. Didn’t matter what I told them either. Funny thing, I got a refund check in the mail yesterday from Granger Medical for over payment. They refused to make any type of payment plan but I figured out why, they trick you into thinking that you are done with them and years later they come back from the dead with $1000.00 of added interest. I would call them out on their straight up lies so they don’t contact me for a year because......that’s the statute of limitations. This place is shadier than Grey!! Then in December 3 weeks before Christmas they swoop in and clean out your savings acct. There is no heart with this guy!

This law firm collects for the medical industry. Everyone understands collections needs to be done but it can be done in a human way. Every once in awhile you run into an organization that is so void of humanity. This company has the greatest collection of bad people the world has ever seen. These people never start a call with hello or end with goodbye. They threaten the whole time. I wonder how you can train a group of people to be this mean. In my mind I envision someone being let out of dark dungeon, given Unicorn blood to drink while they are listening to acid rock music. I actually made the mistake of helping this organization get their phones and internet back on by pulling some favors just a couple of weeks ago. I saved them I'm sure over $100k . Still it is beyond their ability to be human. If you are looking for a collection company you should move on.

I have to say that I had a lot of fun manipulating this attorney. I was surprised at how bad at his job he is!

He attached two debts to me that were not mine. One from an adult daughter, and another from a company who I used to work for. Not sure if it was out of laziness on his part, or incompetence, but for some reason he went after me for these debts.

As someone who has owned, purchased, and sold many businesses, I am not easily intimidated. I also have a lot of experience with working with debt collectors, having hired my fair share throughout my career.

Eddie was unbelievably unprofessional. He shouts like a toddler, attempts to talk over people, and seems to think that talking like a child will get him his way.

All the traits that you don't want in a debt collector! Such tactics are not effective, and only serve to alienate your client base. A debt collector should be firm, professional, and above all, work to maintain the relationship between the company they represent, and their customers. At the end of the day, you want to retain the business of people who got behind on their bills.

Eddie and his group represent their company clients so badly that they destroy the relationship between the client and the customer.

In any event, since the debts were not mine, and since little Eddie seemed to think he could get his way by being aggressive, I have to admit that I really enjoyed manipulating him. To the point that I drew out our little interaction for months! He was completely inept at stopping me, or getting any money from me!

I shouldn't admit how much I enjoyed messing with him! But given how small he acts, and how unprofessional he behaved, I really didn't have any heartburn over proving to him how poorly he does his job.

In the end, we reassigned the debts where they belong, and made a fool out of him in court records.

If Little Eddie had been coming after me for my own debts, rather than lazily assigning others debts to me, I would no longer do business with the companies that he represents. Though my suspicion is that these companies do not actually realize how unprofessional he is, and how immature his behavior is towards their customer base. They would cringe if they did!

This office is a fraud they called me at work and I honestly thought that the call was a scam the lady Alisa named off all of my children's names in a vary condescending way . She said that if we didn't pay the collection that it would effect our credit she stated that we had 90 days we irremediably decided to pay the ransom despite proving to them that the services that they say was in collections in fact was never sent to collections by they service provider and in fact was paid the day of service They assured me and my wife that if we paid the fees that we could save our self's the trouble of the possibility of negative impact. I called and spoke to Jared the attorney at this firm he assured me that any and all negative on my credit profile would be manually removed. The people at this firm are operating a strong arm fraudulent ring they extorted 900 dollars from me the question is where did my money go if not owed for services rendered. At this point because I have been lied to time after time laughed at and threatened I will do everything with in the legal limit to be sure that the next guy isn't taken advantage of like me and my family have been. I will not lay down and allow this tort firm to seek and distress the common working man and women through the legal and credit system to be continued Clara the office manger obviously has trained her staff to be manipulating lairs to extort family's of there wealth its not the 900 dollars its the principle fact that they extorted me and my family held my credit for ransom then when they got what they wanted laughed about it and sought to do more damage because I followed up and checked there word to me that they would delete all of the fraudulent activity on my credit profile. The fact that these folks have had total disregard to the damage that they have caused to my family's financial well being is what makes the act of this office so criminal we work 6 days a week and pay or debts so people like these people can destroy us and laugh about it all of this for 59 bucks see you in court.

Edwin Perry will refuse any payments you try to make and threaten you to get you to pay. I get it they are bill collectors but there is a right way and a wrong way. They cant legally threaten you. They just figure if you cant pay your medical bills you probably wont be able to afford an attorney to fight for you.

The easiest way to get them off your back is to write a response to their claims within the 30 days that the notice gives. Make sure you send it to the address listed on the paper you were served with and call a few days later to verify it has been received. If you have a response of file, even just a letter saying you're not sure if the charges are correct, they cant get a default judgement on you. If they get a default judgement, they can garnish your wages and lock your bank account and take your hard earned money and for some it's their SSI. Know your rights and don't let these spineless scoundrels steal it from under you. If you're able to call the original creditor to see if you can make arrangements to pay on it, that might help also. Parry's office will actually have to take you to court and prove their case if you respond. I replied and had already started paying on the debt owed both to the clinic and paid off any other balance I had with express recovery that they didn't have in the current case. They told me I owed them $440, but that included the amounts I had already started making payments on to the clinic which they still had in house. Once they added interest, the attorney fees and the amount they had to pay someone to serve me, they told me the total amount owed in 1 full payment was $1050. If I could have lol lol lol lol'd a hundred times I would have. He asked me how I wanted to pay for it and I said I WAS NOT going to be those crazy outrageous fees and I was going to submit my response (fight back!). I asked for the total amount I owed on all my accounts with them ($243), which included about $20 interest and paid that off via their website. I printed all my proof and sent my response it stating that it was a paid debt and that they were collecting on an amount that was still in the clinic (which the clinic hadn't asked for their collection efforts on) and that I had already made arrangements to pay. I got a notice today, stating that they TRIED to get a default judgement against me, but they were DENIED (lol lol lol lol lol) because I had responded, so FIGHT BACK and SEND IN YOUR RESPONSE. It could even just say, it's not mine on a piece of paper. If they feel like the case is worth pursuing, they'll take it court and they have to do a lot more work, but don't just let me have it for free and make sure you have your backups! Even if you haven't tried to settle the debt, it's still worth it to try respond. The saddest thing about the way they're conducting business is the fact that they are taking from some of the poorest people in the community. REAL BIG JERKS!!!

Don’t let this company take advantage of you. You have rights! Get on the Federal Trade Commission website and file a consumer complaint. Look up the laws pertaining to Fair Dept Collections Practice Act and make sure they are following the law before you pay them. Ask for verification of the debt. Don’t them them intimidate you. File a complaint. It only takes a few minutes. Go to FTC.gov. I can’t tell who’s even collecting the debt because it says Express Recovery in Edwin B Parry Law letterhead. From what I’ve read these reviews seem to be accurate with my experience as well. Keep all your documents. File a complaint!!

There isn't an option to give zero stars or negative stars or I would do it. They garnished me and my wife's checking account for $556.34 day before yesterday. So naturally I called. I spoke with a gal named Holly. she told me that the total judgement was for $2717.07 from 2011. I told Holly I needed to talk to my wife before I paid the remaining balance. (2160.73) Honestly I couldn't even remember what this was all about so I asked what the original collections were for. There were four of them, three of which were not even in my name. I asked Holly if there was a settlement amount they would take and she told me no. (Lie #1) So I said I would call back, which I did. Spoke to a guy named Jarrod. Told him I was prepared to pay the remaining balance just to get it done. I asked him if there was a settlement amount he would accept and he told me if I paid $1981.33 along with the garnishment of $556.34 ($2537.67) the judgement would be satisfied. That was $179.40 difference. Holly lied. I paid the balance of $1981.33 thinking this would be the end of it.
When I was still previously on the phone with Holly, I asked her when the next garnishment was going to come out because I was worried they would drain the account. She told me they couldn't do anything for 21 days. (Lie #2) the next day after I had paid in full, they held another $629.58 from my savings account. So naturally I called in again. Jarrod answered again. I was relieved because I knew he would remember me which he did. I told him that there was a hold for $629.58 from my savings account and he started getting totally defensive absolutely rude with me saying that he had already explained what was going to happen with the payment and that he wasn't going to argue with me! I hung up on Jarrod. So at the end of the day they have a hold of a total of $3167 for a judgement for $2717.07 from 2011 that wasn't even in my name. These guys are liars and thieves.

I had the bad luck of speaking to Jared Wilson on the phone, he is by far the most rude person I have spoke to on the phone. I am surprised that he still has a job with Edwin Parry's office. He treated me as if I was a kid and would not give me the respect that I deserve. I know I owe money, and I am more then willing to pay my debts, but after being treated like trash from one of your employees it really makes me rethink things. Please handle this and monitor the calls of Jared Wilson and make sure none of your other customers are treated like worthless trash.

I was served a notice that I had a balance with Rocky Mountain Power. I was unaware of any balance so I called Rocky Mountain Power. They were able to find that I did. I inquired as to why I was not informed of it when I turned on the power at my current address. They did not know. So, I asked for the balance and they gave it to me. The balance was very high. They said it would be alright if I called them later to pay it and I did. I payed the balance in full and a collection fee for Express Recovery Services.

I later began receiving notices from the Law Office of Edwin Parry stating that they were suing me and I needed to pay the balance on the account. I communicated that I had done that and asked them to cease their legal actions. They did not. But, when I went to the court to plead my case and show that I had payed the balance in full the court had no record of the case. There was not a case to be heard. They could not find me by the case number on the letters, my name, or any personal info.

I took this to mean that Edwin Parry did not pursue in accordance with his office's letters. But, letters kept coming stating they were obtaining a judgement. So, I wrote to Mr. Parry. He stated that there was a balance on my account. I disputed that because I paid the balance in full.

I called Rocky Mountain Power again to inquire of the validity of any further debt. They stated that there was still collection fees in the amount of $223.90 and that they had paid the previous $99 to Express Recovery. I asked if this was a legitimate balance that needed to be paid and they said yes. I offered to pay it immediately. They transferred me to Express Recovery Services. After waiting for over a minute of ringing a teleprompt informed me to wait longer. I finally got a very nice and cheery person on the phone. I stated that I wanted to clear up the confusion and pay the collection fee balance that I confirmed with Rocky Mountain Power. She stated okay.

I was transferred to Edwin Parry's law office. Who proceeded to claim that I owed them over $1000.00 in court costs. I explained that I approached the court on the prescribed dates of their letters. There was no court cases to be found. She stated that I was mistaken. I explained that I most certainly was not. I also explained that I wanted to pay the collection fee that I thought was paid in full previously. She stated that any payment I made to her would only be a partial payment towards "ongoing court and legal fees". She advised that I obtain a lawyer.

This was very suspect to me. I ended the call and called back Rocky Mountain Power. They apologized for the inconvenience and allowed me to pay them directly for the remaining fee. "Inconvenience"

This Law Office served me and sent me many letters expressing that I was being sued and judgement obtained against me. I could not argue any case in the court because there was not any case in the court.

I have written the court in complaint.

They have been very rude and condescending every time I have talked despite me politely working with them. They sent legal documents to my employer to garnish my wages despite me paying them. I had to have a long conversation reading transaction numbers from my bank proving I was paying them before they "found the transactions" and credited me the payments. It makes me wonder how many payments they "lost" while taking money from me. This is a very shady predatory organization. Double check everything to make sure they aren't padding their pockets with your stolen money that they lost and are not crediting you.

The first time I talked to someone they were VERY rude! we got into a pretty big argument... The fact that they don't take payments is a tad ridiculous to me. I am a single mom and have a hard time as it is.. I am not claiming that I don't owe a debt but the fact that it went from a debt collector to them in a matter of a week after my bankruptcy was over is a little bit much!!! the second person I talked to was a little nicer but still quit a bit rude. and this time the women was so much nicer even though my bill pretty much doubled with them... I am sad that we have to deal with that rude of people on the phone when we have a hard time as it is... Get it together people!! be a little nicer it will go a lot farther than you think it will..

Awful business. My car accident and prior injury bills got lumped together and I couldn't pay them off in time. Parry's office eventually got a hold of it, and even with my auto attorney and car insurance working with their office to settle the debt, they sent someone to my house April 28th with a court summons dated the 4th of April.

Before receiving the summons, I was never notified in writing that I still owed any portion of the debt, and once I had the summons in hand they'd tacked on an attorney's fee. By the the time my auto attorney and I were able to contact their office again and decide that it was wiser to simply pay the debt than go through the risky process of hiring another attorney to represent my prior injury case, they'd filed a complaint with the court and added on court fees.

$178 jumped to $654 very quickly, and Holly, the representative I talked to on the phone, talked over me and was unwilling to hear my case. At the end of the conversation she just asked what I wanted to do about my current balance. I wanted to move on with my life and not drag out another process involving attorneys and medical clinics (I'm still waiting on the car settlement from a year and a half ago), so I put the full balance on my credit card just to get it removed from my account with them and be done with them forever.

Whoever I talked to last time was very helpful and nice and answered all my questions.
Whoever I talked to today was extremely rude. Whether I'm wrong or not, there is no need to be that rude to anyone. I even pointed it out and he denied it. I had questions. Sorry you didn't want to answer my questions or couldn't because you don't keep copies of the letters you send to me.
Also sending a bill with the wrong total is kind of outrageous in my mind, but they don't have to send the right total apparently. You as the client just have to know that isn't what you really owe.

I have to say that they are one of the few lawyers that work with collection angecies that I don't mind working with. Everytime I have contacted them to make a payment on the debt they were trying to collect I was met with kind and courteous people. The only time I was ever met with hostility was with the first call I made because they didn't believe that I was going to make payments on the debt I owed . And when I called to make the initial payment they told me that they were surprised that I called and kept to my promise of payment. They are nice if you treat them the same way you want to be treated.

Fight them. They are not willing to settle, not willing to even talk to you, and even when they are in the wrong, they ignore it. I received incorrect information from a law clerk who informed me that I didn't need to file a response (This was through the court house, not through Edwin Parry) and a default judgement was entered. They call you and harass you for payment. They are stealing good taxpayers money. They are rude, mean, and discourteous and frankly inaccurate. I was attempting to settle a bill and when I spoke with the person they said I had until the 25th to make a payment and we agreed on a three month plan to get it taken care of so that I would never have to hear from them again. I reiterated over and over again so I have until the twenty fifth and I have three months, to which they said yes. Then I received a call twenty days later, two weeks before the twenty fifth, informing me that I was delinquent because they had posted a ridiculously high payment that I only had five days to gather the funds for! It is a ridiculous experience and honestly because of it and my experiences with them I will never again go through University of Utah Hospital, where the original bill came from.

We received notice of being taken to court on March 23. We went and hired and attorney. They contacted Mr Parry a number of times. They submitted the paper work and he refused to acknowledge the fact and took us to court even though we had made an offer to settle the debt. He totally ignored many attempts to communicate and did not follow procedure in acknowledging and contacting our attorney. Instead he bullied us by forcing the garnishment after we had attempted to take care of the bill. We followed the law and Ed did not and he used the Third Judicial Court to do it by not providing them with the information that we had contacted him and attempted to make good on the debt. We have information about contacts we made trying to make a deal. Our attorney also contacted MR Parry a few times personally. We feel bullied and abused by this man. He has caused hardship on our family because of his lies and tactics. He is a poor example. He took advantage of us!
