She is dishonest and over charges. She promised to personally handle my daughters simple divorce case but instead dumped it off on Adam who was simply incompetent.
For months her firm did nothing but send outrageous bills. We finally cut our losses, hired a lawyer in Utah County who accomplished what we asked at half the price and in half the time.
My daughter and husband have both written bad reviews on her but somehow she gets them removed. I am convinced these positive reviews are bogus. Avoid her like the plague.
Accountability. Rebecca Okura is unique in her active participation in each case. That is rare for a lead, partner attorney. The head of the firm treats your case as if it's her own, very attentive and passionate for her clients. Her involvement and attention to your case will make you feel like you're in very good hands, and you are. Highly recommended Long Okura.

I cannot recommend this firm highly enough. The coordinated way in which they handled my case was both professional and cost effective. The staff was friendly, well informed, and I never felt anything but that I was their highest priority. At all turns they sought my input, and advised me in a manner that was never condecending. I would absolutely use them again. The decisive way they won my case was amazing to watch. They never misled me or promised anything. They told me the hard truths about my chances and then fought their best. The openess, honesty and integrity of Long Okura has made any advocate out of me.

I've never had to deal with an attorney for anything before, so when it came to my divorce I was hesitant to say the least. Due to cost and not knowing where to start with a lawyer, I tried to take care of the process myself through OCAP. That ended up being a nightmare with so much back and forth signing and notarizing multiple papers through out the 56 pages I had to print even though half didn't pertain to my situation. After spending hours trying to decipher OCAP I decided to call around for an attorney.
Long Okura was the first one up when I googled divorce attorney in Salt Lake. Gave them a call and reception set up an hour consultation for me the next week. I was placed with Ms. Katie McLain and she spent the hour walking me through the different options. My divorce was pretty straight forward and simple so I decided to go with 'self rep assistance' in which Katie typed up and filled out all the paper work leaving my wife and I to just meet and sing and noterize, then head to the court house myself to file. I filed those papers the same day and went back to Katie a few weeks later to get the final papers taken care of. I would like to add that due to a work situation, at 3 p.m. Thursday I had to try and schedule the final papers meeting for the next morning. That turned out to be no problem!
All in all, it cost me $450 for 3 one hour meetings (consoltation, divorce write up, and final papers.) Katie was more then helpful answering all my questions and helping me take care of this process from start to finish.
I would definitely recommend Katie and Long Okura to someone needing help with their situation.

I do not think I can put it in words how much I detest this law firm. There is no way this firm deserves 4.4 stars. (I swear some of these reviews are fabricated.) Words to describe Adam Birk and Long Okura: unhelpful, price-gougers, slow, inefficient, PRICE-GOUGERS.
Adam was extremely inaccessible, unhelpful, and slow. Seemingly like progress was being done, my mother's divorce took over a year, and still NOTHING HAD CHANGED. Finally, after over $20k spent, we looked for a different divorce lawyer. It's incredibly shocking to see the bills come in with large and random sums each time. It was so ridiculous!!! We are looking into contacting the state bar to have them look into this disreputable firm, as other reviewers have seemingly looked to do as well. If you have a couple $10,000 to spare, then choose Long Okura - where all your money goes to trash.

Over the many years I've known Rebecca Long Okura, from a very difficult child custody case to name changes to business contracts (of all things), she and her firm have been beyond fantastic! I would highly recommend her for any family law scenario....

It is my intention to give a raving review of attorney/mediator Jenna Hatch from Long Okura Law Firm. She was exemplar and professional in every way. Her experience with family law from the perspective of my wife and I has been unparalleled. In September of 2014 she represented my wife in a case against her ex-husband and saw it through until February of 2015. I won’t lie, hiring a lawyer is expensive. Along with the cost, it is a complex and difficult journey to try and pave a pathway to a better life for everyone involved; especially the child(ren) involved. That is why it is so important to choose the one that has the absolute best experience in family law and makes you feel (literally feel) that a positive suitable outcome is possible. In our particular case, my wife had a very unpredictable ex-husband who always interpreted the decree however he saw fit. Over the course of a few years he had taken advantage by having the kids every weekend instead of every other weekend as their signed decree stipulated. This ex-husband also had not made a single payment of child support for two children during the course of several years. My wife felt helpless to the whims of her ex-husband and knew that unless there was some form of outside pressure he would never be held accountable for anything. My wife and I, having researched many attorneys (and been told repeatedly that there was nothing that she could do law-wise), approached Jenna, and she felt strongly that we had a case. Other attorneys lacked at the mediation aspect that my wife’s decree required. We discovered that Long Okura Law Firm was a solid bridge between mediation and the law system. Having researched a couple of attorneys there, Jenna made an immediate impression of someone who would fight on our side and appropriately enforce accountability from my wife’s ex-husband. Methodically, Jenna was professional and systematical about every aspect of communication with my wife. Whenever she had questions (and there were a lot of questions because of her ex-husband’s unpredictable behavior) Jenna was reasonably available and extremely helpful. It is because of Jenna’s experience with family law and respect for her client, that she knew exactly what to say to help put my wife’s mind at ease. My wife’s ex-husband wasn’t going to listen to anything that my wife asked of him. It wasn’t until he began receiving paperwork with a professional letterhead and court papers that his attitude began to change. At first it was awful. Her ex-husband retaliated however he could. Our lawyer knew that he would likely respond this way and she knew that we couldn’t back down; that a bully will not stop being a bully because you give him an inch. She clearly recognized that in order to hold a bully accountable we had to not buckle into his threats. After all is said and done, my wife has a new decree in place, security, child support being paid, accountability, and happiness. There is nothing more beautiful than hearing my wife declare that she “feels happy and safe.” From a very personal perspective on my part, I am watching the weight lift from her shoulders. She can feel the potential that these decisions provide a much brighter future for her children and herself. There is a new instilled hope that the future has opportunities that would have otherwise not been possible. I am thankful on so many levels to Jenna Hatch and Long Okura for all that they have done. Our recommendation of both Long Okura Attorneys at Law and Jenna Hatch is, well...let me say to those that feel entirely hopeless...”Hope.”

Jenna Hatch was fantastic to work with. She clarified everything and was very helpful through a difficult divorce process. She was able to finish the paperwork for us within a matter of minutes (as opposed to my ex's attorney who took weeks to figure out what was going on). I would recommend her for your legal council.

Jenna Hatch is a fantastic attorney! She has experience and knowledge to know when and how to hold a strong legal stand. With Jenna as my attorney, she had plan A, B, and C in mind and allowed me to choose the route I felt most comfortable. She allowed me to feel autonomy and respect as I made major life-changing decisions. Jenna and the staff at OKURA were helpful and always quickly replied to emails and phone calls.

Adam Birk assisted me on my divorce and he was so worth it. He was also the lawyer for someone and work and she, too, has praise for Adam. He was my adviser on a consultant basis for self filing. Is this the right terminology? Well, he helped me feel better about things on filing and was a great person who took an genuine concern abut me and my situation. I couldn't have survived as much these last six months if it wasn't for him. He was with me during mediation and helped me stay focused on what I needed to survive a post-divorce marriage. He kept my best interests in mind at all times.
Thank you again Adam.

If you can love or even like an attorney when you are going through something as hard as a divorce, I feel that being able to rate Long Okura as 5 stars speaks for itself. Adam Birk represented me recently and with Rebecca's help, he navigated me through the parts of the divorce that I needed a lawyer to do. He was calm and even keeled while being able to explain my rights and potential needs as a soon to be single mom, which is what I needed during such a tumultuous time. It helped me know that what we were trying to negotiate was the right thing, not just what emotion dictated or felt good at the time. He gave me facts and when he wasn't sure, he wasn't afraid to tell me he would check it out to be sure. I appreciated his honesty, even when the news wasn't always what I would want to hear. While I am devastated to be needing his services, I am grateful for what Adam was able to offer when I needed his help.

Working with the staff at Long Okura has been a mostly pleasurable experience throughout a difficult period. Over the past year, Stacy and Rebecca have represented my interests while I have been mostly away from the proceedings. Stacy Roberts especially was very professional and always kept me appraised of everything needed to make the process as painless as possible. The legal process can be intimidating and seemingly never ending to those of us not accustomed to dealing with court related matters and Stacy was extremely helpful during the entire ordeal.

I worked with Long Okura on several occasions during and after my divorce. Simply put the service was outstanding. It is difficult being a single father, the laws are typically set up to favor mothers (which can also be good sometimes). What I really liked about my experience with Rebecca is she very positive and encouraged the development of a solid, respectful, and functional co-parenting scenario while ensuring my rights as a father were protected.
However, there were times of much difficulty, as is the case with 99.99% of divorces. I was very appreciative of the advice and support I received during these difficult times. It is incredibly difficult to make the transition in life to not seeing your children daily. Rebecca was able to ensure that I am able to continue to maintain an active and productive role with my child. This is the most important thing in my life, and I feel comfortable that the situation is secure.
In the end, divorce sucks, but sometimes it is for the best (for parents and kids). And is sucks even worse when there are children involved. I am in a great situation in my life right now, and part of it is because of my divorce and the healthy relationship I have with my child, but also with my ex-spouse (it took time, but a good ear and advice throughout didn't hurt).
