Jake Hinkins was the lawyer we used for our surrogacy journey. I believe I was the first surrogate that he had worked with, but he was fantastic and very knowledgeable when we went through the contract and court phases. He helped to make sure that the contract was fair, and covered all of my bases as the surrogate. We were running on a tight deadline due to the nature of surrogacy -with needing to have documents submitted and finalized before the egg donor could be cycled, and such- and he was great about making sure everything was done before those deadlines were near. Everything went off without a hitch, and the intended parents were overjoyed to welcome their twins into the world knowing that all of the legalities were taken care of well before the babies were born.

We had Kurt Laird help us with our will and trust. I didn't know much about what needed to be done and he walked us through the process, patiently explained things, and helped us understand what we needed to do. He stayed with us throughout the process and made us feel secure and confident in the end result. It was a great overall experience and I would highly recommend Kurt to anyone!

My case with Jake was a fairly straightforward custody case that spanned multiple years and went through a 2 day trial. When searching for attorneys to take my case I chose Jake over the attorneys I would have gotten a discount through work with because of the great things I heard about him and his expertise.

Through the stress of the case, Jake’s confidence in his own abilities and his professionalism definitely gave me an appreciation for him and his firm. In my familys opinion. Jake is a scam artist. He starts off strong then gets busy. He quits answering calls and questions. Has other attorneys fill in (even at court) then blames you for not listening (there were 3 of us in the call with him on speaker and all heard the same. He's the only one who claims different). he never answers his phone and is bad about returning calls. I'm from out of state and almost all communication was in email form. My case was simple. I found my daughter after 10 years. Its still open. he quit today. The day after fathers day. He told us 1 year tops its been going on 2 and he's taken us for a large sum of money. He also knows he's the only attorney I could find to take a case from my state across to Utah. He played my family. Good luck. You'll need it for this guy.
