3 words to describe Marji: confident, responsive, proactive. Marji was extremely personable. Explained everything in detail. She knew what to expect, and was always prepared. I highly recommend Marji if you are considering bankruptcy. I guarantee you will be satisfied after hiring this BK attorney!

I am a criminal defense attorney in San Jose, CA and I needed a referral for a bankruptcy attorney in Salt Lake City for a client. I reached out to lawyer friends who suggested Marji. She was wonderful! Kind, patient, and knowledgeable. This is an area of law that is complicated and, of course comes at a very bad time in a person's life.

Marji was the best attorney in the entire organized court room. The judge even thanked her in a way that was obvious she was so relieved that it was the first case that was clean with sharp corners, all t's crossed and done with perfection. Marji is easy to talk to and gave reassurance when needed. I'm so grateful I was recommended to her. As I wouldn't have dreamed of anyone doing it better. Thank you from our family.

I am 70 years old and I had a lot - A LOT - of medical debt. I had been working and struggling to pay my monthly payments for years. THEN, I had to quit my work due to a medical condition. There was no way I could pay my debts without a job. I had no choice but to declare bankruptcy. I felt overwhelmed with all that I assumed had to be done to prepare for the bankruptcy. I was so humiliated that I couldn't pay my own debts and embarrassed to even go to the first appointment with Marji. However, she treated me so kindly and respectfully. She was able to help me feel at ease as she simplified and walked me through what I needed to do to prepare. She emailed me step-by-step instructions for every deadline and every single thing I was required to do.

When the time came to meet with the trustee, I felt prepared, calm, and confident. It was interesting to watch the cases that were before us. Every single one had problems of some kind. One did not have all the information filled out and so it took longer. One didn't know the answer to one of the questions and so it also took longer. The third one was totally unprepared to even be there and was told to gather the information and then come back when she was prepared. When it was our turn, thanks to Marji's expertise, organization and follow-through with me, all our i's were dotted and all our t's were crossed! We were done and on our way out in about three or four minutes.

She genuinely cares about her clients and makes an extremely stressful process about as stress-free as it can get. I am so thankful that I found out about her. Without reservation, I highly recommend Marji Hanson!

Marji Hanson helped me through a very rough time when my 23 year old business was forced to close. Her knowledge & experience was obvious during my entire Chapter 7 Bankruptcy experience. She provided me with the information I needed to make some very hard decisions. She is supportive & compassionate while being realistic and direct. I will recommend her to anyone who requires excellent legal advise.

Marji is amazing. She makes this process so easy and stress free. She is always had prompt responses to my millions of questions, and never made me feel like I was bothering her or wasting her time. When it came time to go to court, he calm presence helped me not to be nervous. She told me what to bring, what would be asked, how I should answer and it all happened as she said. I really enjoyed working with her during this process. If you have to go through this, Marji is the person you want by your side.

I cannot say that I "loved' the experience, because ; after all "who loves going bankrupt? That being said; I must write that We were very satisfied with our treatment from Ms. Hanson. Professional, objectively caring, and respectful. She provided us with expedient responses to our questions as we made our Chapter 13 payments for four years. Going to her office the first time was a bit traumatic because of the Bankruptcy.....and our financial failure. It's in the past and cannot be changed,so it's onward and upward.
In retrospect;it probably would have been better to go with a Chapter 10. That way we would have 4 years since the discharge. This is a significant factor when attempting to secure credit after the discharge date. In the case of Chapter 13,the bankruptcy is not discharged until all payments have been completed.
We are attempting to re-finance our home and take advantage of lower interest rates,so seasoning of the discharge date,is considered by prospective creditors. Incidently; we have no intention of borrowing money against our home for "other" purposes than to reduce interest and payments.

I did a lot of research before choosing Marji Hanson as our bankruptcy lawyer and not only was she extremely competent, meticulous and organized but compassionate, caring and very easy to talk to. She was even recommended to me by other lawyers. I used to do videos for trial lawyers so I've worked with many during my career and she is my all-time favorite! These past year 2 years that brought us to the point of filing bankruptcy has been the most difficult time in our lives, but Marji Hanson made the bankruptcy process completely stress-free. Obviously, I highly recommend Margie for a lawyer that's not all talk and flash. She is honest, straightforward, affordable and actually cares about her clients!
