I'm not sure what's going on, but nobody is answering the phone and when I call a message comes on stating the mailbox is full and to hangup. I don't know what to do.

Doesn't ever seem to have a receptionist to answer phone calls and when the voicemail does work, they promise to return your message "promptly" and NEVER DO. Bad business for a lawyer's office to have. The simple return phone call could keep my son out of jail. Severely disappointed and now wish I had another lawyer for my son.
Not saying that this makes him a bad lawyer just not good business but he did arrive to a court appearance with my son and was late.

Today my son had a appearance with Judge Klein due to a letter sent from the court stating Attorney Justin Gearty didn't file "paperwork" on time with the court. And if the papers were not filed today an arrest warrant would be issued for my son. (How is that my son's responsibility?"
So we were in court per the letter and Attorney Justin Gearty WAS A NO SHOW!!! Even some of his other clients were present in court wondering where he was. Judge Klein was not happy to say the least. Also for a couple months still calling leaving messages when able with no return calls.

Regarding his comments. My son is not in jail because I posted his bail. Not once did Gearty explain any strategy regarding his case, ask for witnesses to speak with and not once even pretend to have my son's best interest in mind. My son went through his entire case in the dark. My son would have been better represented by the public defender office with them being overworked and understaffed. There has been no communication between Attorney Gearty and my son since my first review and still has not returned any messages! Gearty reputation in the Lebanon county court house is definitely not a good one this is including comments from 2 judges!
THERE DEFINITELY NEEDS TO BE A OPTION FOR ZERO STARS OR EVEN BETTER NEGATIVE ONES!!
Everything that is written on Attorney Gearty website is lies! No attention is given to clients needs, no updates on progress of case, and not one single time did Gearty ever even attempt to return a message. Again repeatedly a no show in court and even a no show for a client meeting and he could not even get a staff member to let my son know.

Tried to speak to someone to see if I have a case. The answer I got was “I don’t know. I’d have to research and we only do that for clients.” Now I do NOT claim to be a legal expert (which was the reason for my call in the first place) but usually when I speak to an attorney and explain the situation they usually say either “yes I can help you with that and this is what our fees are” or “no in my opinion you really don’t have a strong case but I can take a look and it will cost ‘X’ amount of dollars but at least they give you an idea of whether your case is worth their time and effort. I don’t know if mine is because he doesn’t know. This was just my experience with them over the phone. They might be the best lawyers in the county but I wouldn’t know because I’m not a client. (I don’t even know what their fees are because it was never offered as an option. My search for a lawyer that will listen and tell me if they will take my case continues!

*Note: that’s actually not what happened. The point of the call was to hire someone to look into further to see if I had a case. Again, nothing was offered. Otherwise I would know what your rates were. There was no above and beyond and I was not seeking free advice. I’m looking to pay someone to look into this for me. Upon reading the response I can tell that Mr. Gearty was not given ALL of the information and because my issue originated from another state my first question was if I could retain a lawyer here in Pennsylvania or did I need to get a lawyer in West Virginia. He didnt even answer that. The point of the call was to retain a lawyer to handle this not get advice. The questions I asked all had to do with whether or not they could take a case from another state. Saying it looks like I don't have a case is more of an answer than what I was told by who ever I spoke to but again it seems like he got about 20% of the information I gave which was just so they had a clearer understanding of what was going on in my situation. I never expected ANYTHING for free. The whole point of the call was to see how much I would need to get the ball rolling and it's actually insulting that they would insinuate otherwise. I reviewed them based on my phonecall. There is nothing personal as I don't even know them but as I stated that was never an option. I didn't mention how arrogant and rude he was on the phone or his condescending tone as the call went on and if Mr. Gearty was really concerned he could have called me personally instead of making it a response on a review. Honestly after reading his response I'm glad I did not retain such emotional and uncaring people. I think it is kind of childish but some people can not handle hearing the truth.

I thought he was just a bad lawyer but apparently he has major issues of his own so that explains a lot. Public records show that he has several HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars of judgments against him. I am not sure how he is still allowed to practice law at this point. I ma making a complaint to the Lancaster Bar Association because I really don't know how or why they don't know what is going on with this guy.

I'm not even sure Justin is active at this point. Doesn't have office personnel to answer phone, no longer work there. No returned voicemails or emails. Not one scheduled meeting, even knowing there was only one, or phone calls were never, or close to, on time - some didn't happen at all. There was always an excuse every time when I did talk to someone ("Justin is in court all day" For an entire week?) I don't buy it. They took about $1,700.00 and I ended up self representing myself. They caused a divorce to be drawn out over a year when it could have been completed in 2 months or less. File complaints through the BAR association. Don't know how he still has a 4 star rating - BE AWARE folks!!

There were "many many request" ? It wasn't many different request, it was many request to change the initial changes. You may frequently be in court, however you should frequent get back to your customer that are paying your bills. Not a professional way to run a business, the excuse of lost employees doesn't cut it either.

This law firm is the absolute worst. Justin Gearty is a real slimeball. Go to a respectable attorney. Anyone in the city is better than these pathetic excuses for human beings. Go back to the holes you crawled out of. Hopefully this lawyer will be held accountable.

Please stay clear of this problem and headache. Mr. Gearty is incompetent and completely lost my confidence in his ability to truly represent his
clients. Not only did he fail to show up for a scheduled meeting prior to my conference, but when he did finally show up, he was late to the custody conference. His appearance was embarrassing. He had a wrinkled suit, pants halfway down his butt, and a dirty, untucked shirt. He smelled as if he had just woken up with a hangover. He knew absolutely nothing about my case and did not represent me well at the conference because he did not know want I wanted and my game plan. When presented with these issues after the conference, he rolled his eyes and dismissed my concerns. Do yourself a favor and spend your time and money elsewhere.

Two-Faced criminals. Missy and Justin are a pair that you should avoid like the plague! Please go somewhere else! They stole $980 from me. Justin had no idea who I was or what my case involved when he showed up to the custody conference late. I gave his paralegal and secretary a $1,500 retainer. He represented me for 12 minutes. No call backs. Charged me a consultation fee when I never met with him? The money is one thing but what Justin did to my custody case, involving my three children, was steal valuable time and resources from our case. It is a truly unforgivable sin.

Update the $520 check that they said was going to be a partial refund just bounced. So Justin stole a full $1,500 from me. Well played Justin and Missy! I think I need to get to a lawyer!!!!! Lancaster bar association here I come.

I’ve call at least 5 times since December 6th until today, December 11th. Called today, just to be put on hold for over 10 minutes and then hung up on. I’ve explained that this is a huge time sensitive matter dealing with a custody case and have yet to even speak to an attorney to talk about anything. The receptionist is pretty decent however, she’s the one who put me on hold for over 10 minutes and hung up on me and then when I tried calling back I get their answering machine. I will update my review if any of this gets solved if not, it’ll stay the same or go to a one star.

I called the office today about getting a consultation. The receptionist said she would call me back. Its now 4:00pm I called at 9:30am.

I went to this office because i was getting taking for child support. I gave them $600 on paypal. The lawyer was on vacation didnt come to my hearing. I filed for spousal support. “They said” they wrote up an order. The court didnt receive one. I called and asked domestic reactions the other day. Luckily my ex dropped the child support. So i no longer need there services. When i asked them to show me some sort of proof for any work done i was ignored. They have not called me back in weeks. They took my money and did absolutely nothing. I will be contacting my bank for a refund. I HOWEVER WILL DELETE THIS NEGATIVE POST IF THE SITUATION GETS RESOLVED
