I hired Michael to get my 11 year old niece out of a bad situation. He called an emergency hearing and had her safe and sound by the next day! I would not hesitate to use him in the future to represent my family in a time of need. He has proven himself as a knowledgeable and respected attorney in the Columbus area.

I have worked with this law firm on several cases. They helped me with a personal case (defense) which led to a fair outcome as well as a friends case (he was a hot mess and Attorney Mike literally bailed him out of his troubles). They have given me legal advice which has saved me from many future headaches for business type information as well.
I am very happy with their service and would recommend to anyone, especially for defense.

My son got into a little hot water last summer. I called Mike after hours, who cleared his schedule the next day to come to Newark Ohio to my son's defense. Very professional and has a commanding presences in court.

I had a very similar experience to Mr. Semmens. I was innocent of the crimes I was accused of, and hired these guys to handle my defense, but it seems like all they were interested in was handling my money. Evidence that could have clearly demonstrated my innocence was ignored and not presented in court, and I was found guilty on charges of which I was innocent. The whole time, they were stringing me along, constantly stating how good our chances were of winning, which they should have been, seeing I was not guilty of anything. They had also mentioned they knew the prosecutor from their past, which made me wonder in retrospect if they had made some kind of deal to sacrifice me in favor of reaping some benefits on some other case. I sincerely hope that wasn't the case, but with corrupt judges in recent news in Ohio's legal system, I really wouldn't be surprised, just hurt, which is exactly what you will be if you retain these young, inexperienced, inadequate and unethical individuals. They have no idea of the negative emotional and financial impact they've dealt to me, my family, and my friends. You are literally better off defending yourself. Get someone else.

Keep Looking!! Plenty of Other Lawyers to Choose From!! Two people invaded my home, then charged me with assault after I repelled them. The only thing they had to do was prove they were in the home. Request to have people enter the home to take fingerprints, denied. Manner of assaults claimed were physically impossible, and never rebutted. Had access to prominent questions in minds of jury through written means, failed to address even 1 at closing. Theft of my iPhone from house during incident (proving they were in the home), and my personal injuries totaling over $2,300, not addressed. Prosecutor provided blatantly false information to sway jury during closing, never countered. Witnesses claimed can of mace used in home defense was double the actual size, and was used until empty, both of which could have been disproven by bringing forth the can itself, never done. Numerous other issues vital to defense never presented in court. Claims for compensation increased 4 fold, and they would not request the appropriate documentation to disprove their claims. Now, an innocent man with no prior criminal record has 3 misdemeanors on his permanent record, and is out somewhere in the neighborhood of $10,000, when all is said and done. I could not, in my wildest fantasies, imagine a worse set of defense lawyers, and I would never wish them on anybody. Keep looking, you have plenty of options to choose from without throwing away your money, your record, and your future on these guys.

I have hired Michael Lerner on several different occasions, and each time my legal goals were accomplished. Michael is an exceptionally competent and talented attorney that I would highly recommend to anyone. Michael is extremely effective and I will definitely contact him when future legal counsel is required in my business.
