I was  injured at  my job and  incurred a concussion. I was off for five weeks. When I returned I was on restrictions  gradually  making progress while doing therapy. Due to the nature  of my job I developed post concussion syndrome. Eventually I  started working 8 hours with some restrictions while progressing to completing my therapy. On my day off I got a call stating my current job could no longer accomadate . I was suprised  because I was not  informed that day and they waited until the next day for someone else to inform me. I was upset at first but tried not to get too down.  I  was recommended to this firm by someone I know. Doug Malek was fast and furious and was able to save my job. He is highly knowledgable an expert in his field.  I  wish there was a 10 plus on  the scale  because  he deserves it .  All the staff at the  firm is very kind, friendly and compassionate. Malik and Malik is a prestigious Law Firm. They believe in fighting for their clients and making sure that they get Justice for them. Then, I must say, for a father to run a law firm and have his son as lawyer's, by his side, is a blessing!(I thank you Mr. Ed Malek). And that's what Jim and Doug Malik have been to me, "A Blessing!"
I met Jim when he represented me in another case in the early 2000s. Jim's was all about business and I liked that. And the one thing that stood out, was "he wanted justice for Me,"and we got it. And what a blessing he was, as well then.
So when I got hurt in April of 2018 I thought that the injury would speak for itself. Meaning I got hurt at WORK, I thought it would be an open and shut case with workers comp, and I wouldn't need to call a lawyer, but low-and- behold it was anything but that.
I hadn't returned to work and it was now July. Worker's comp and my employer didn't believe that I was hurt, because of the first doctor's report...so I had to get a lawyer!
I knew for me there was only one person in mind and that was Jim Malick. Jim started the process around the end of July. And then Doug took over my case.
I had gotten into a new doctor. And first thing they requested was an MRI. Second, I got a correct diagnosis from them, and when the MRI came back it confirmed the diagnosis my new Doctor had stated.
Following procedure, Doug had to get the new conditions add to my case with worker's comp. It was a fight to get the new conditions allowed and by time that was done it was September 2018, 5 months from the date of my injury April. Doug fought for me, and his efforts paid off.
Well none of us foreseen that it would take a whole year to get me paid as well as get my surgery approved, because of my employer fighting my case. But, Doug stuck frimley to the facts that the paper chase spoke loud and clearly about! And with that, my employer couldn't overcome THEM FACTS. And in the end the FACTS and Dugs determination won my case, and I Thank God!
I would like to say that Doug stuck by me, he encouraged me, he fought for my quality of life that had been diminished, because I had gotten hurt at work while I was doing my job, to be restored. Yes, I was going to need surgery, but in the end ALL I wanted to do was get back to my good quality of life HEALED AND HEALTHY.
Much like Jim, Doug is a very warm-hearted kind-hearted man /attorney and he/they definitely have your best interest at heart. THESE MEN KNOW THEIR LAW AND THE AREN'T AFRAID TO STAND UP FOR "US THE PEOPLE" in representing me/client to the fullest.

I got injured at my warehouse job in 2011. I worked at this warehouse for 2 years loading catfood into boxes and placing them onto conveyor belts. For whatever reason, I was loading a heavy box of the catfood onto the belt and I felt a sharp pain in my lower back. I worked through the pain and finished out my shift. But after sleeping on it for a night, I just had throbbing pain. Went to urgent care and they diagnosed a back sprain. I now needed to get an attorney to represent me in court. I asked friends if they recommended anyone and they pointed out Malek & Malek.

I was familiar with the lawfirm because I could see the sign driving to work. Went into Ed Malek’s office, which was a bit of a mess. But Ed was really down to earth and really cooled off my anxiety about the whole process. Fast forward a few years, Ed and Doug helped me get the pt and surgery for my back. The wc system too me is pretty confusing, but Doug really helped me navigate the process and get compensation for my back. Would I rather not have been injured in the first place?
