Retained this firm to process a separation. This was a non contested separation without any disputes. Original estimation was approximately $5K which is an acceptable rate. After separation was completed, Bagley tagged on an additional $2K to my bill without my knowledge. $7k for simple separation case is unreasonable.

I finally became aware of the outstanding bill 4 months later, due to a letter with 2 weeks notice to pay or go to collections. I called to pay it as soon as I read the letter (10 days past notice. I travel for business 90% and rarely at this address} and was informed that it has already gone to collections and they cannot take my payment. They said I have to deal with the collection agency and this is out of their control.

They told me they tried to contact me numerous times. However, I never received any voicemails/emails/mail/letters. This is the first time I saw a copy of the invoice with $2K additional charges. This firm will relentlessly charge you for additional services to a simple separation agreement without notifying the customer.

I would expect a prestigious law firm to treat their customers as follows:

Send bills in the mail
Send more than one notification
Accept payments when offered
Be more customer oriented (very rude)
After standard retainer, communicate additional charges

All about money.....I built the case for them, they never shared docs or details with the other parties attorney. When asked for more money the last time after being 5k over their initial estimate of costs, I was forced to withdraw and was served Discovery requests from the other attorney.... Something they should've done with the money I was paying them. According to them they can charge for thinking about me case in the shower so I feel it's important to let people know this is not the most viable option unless your funds are endless and you want to do all the work. Now I'm in collections for them for 690 bucks after already paying in over 8k and getting zero results!! Steer clear!!!

Very expensive and no end results will not hire again...

This law firm was our first experience with a lawyer and it was horrible. Lauren G Shepherd was the attorney that my sister was hoping would help her. She had to pay a huge amount upfront before she would work with her. The whole process was a bitter chapter for my sister since it seemed that the lawyer cared very little about my sister. In a case were my sister had suffered domestic abuse by her husband for many years and where he even married her hiding that he was already married with someone in Mexico, my sister was thinking that it would be an easy process were she would come out as a winner, but everytime she would deal with Lauren it seemed that all things were against her, she would even come home crying sometimes because she felt that this lawyer just did not care. My sister even decided that she did not want to be her client before the case was closed, and even though the payment that my sister wasn't all used up, she never got a balance back. My sister decided to keep going on her divorce process by herself, moneyless and even afraid of looking for another lawyer.

I just wanted to take some time to bring to your attention my experience with Lauren Shepherd. With all the negativity in the world surrounding attorneys much less the topic of divorce it was refreshing and relieving meeting and working with Lauren. She is a a blanket of confidence and determined talent in an other wise brutal and cold world. Her listening skills and focus helped connect to my situation and expertly assist me in handling my separation and divorce. Lauren was efficient, direct and up front. She was strong when I was not and her experience greatly improved the final outcome.
