My entire experience with the handling of my case has far exceeded my expectations. Upon being significantly injured by a driver who ran a red light, my family and I had little experienced with the handling of bodily injury insurance claims. The confusion of being injured and not knowing what impacts the injuries would have on me and my family were very troubling. I was hit by a drunk driver and the 1st firm I called said it wasn't a big enough case for them to bother. 2nd one didn't even show up. The DA on the case didn't even know what was going on, and told me he only had 15 minutes to present it to the Judge. Clearly he wasn't going to be any help either. I was so discouraged and physically hurt from the accident I didn't know what to do. My car was totaled, I had broken bones, cuts and bruises, and was so injured I couldn't even stand up by myself, and I certainly couldn't work. It seemed like nobody cared, and that drunk driver was going to get away with what he had done. I finally called MADD, and they referred me to Lauren. I am SO GLAD THEY DID.

Don't be swayed by the positive reviews for Bachus and Schanker, LLC. They may provide good service to some clients, but you need to know that they collect reviews in person at the time of the settlement disbursement and they ask for client permission to publish these reviews. Clients who are not pleased will not take the time or may not feel comfortable completing that survey, and Bachus and Schanker would definitely not publish them. I had a small case. Maybe larger cases are handled better. My situation is consistent with other bad reviews that have been written and I should have listened to my intuition and given more weight to the bad reviews before I chose the firm to represent me. My intuition told me that choosing a firm that advertises on t.v. and buses may be a bad call. A good firm shouldn't need to do this, because they will have plenty of business from referrals.

I dealt with a demand letter that was prepared and not approved by an attorney. It was addressed to the wrong person and referenced injuries that were not mine. After being reassured by a partner that my case would be in good hands after this happened, my file was then MIA for several months until a different attorney called to tell me what happened and apologized. I was then reassured that the next person would handle my case with care and the service I received was less than acceptable. My emails would go unanswered for weeks, or never returned at all. The attorney made excuses, blamed my medical providers for missing information, and I had to do way too much follow up to be sure all my bills were paid and all of the information was collected to prepare an accurate settlement and get my case closed. Despite letting the firm know this several times, they made no attempt to make this better. I took the time to complete their survey and never received a follow up call or apology. I had to do way too much work on my own case, and I think they should have reduced the percentage they kept of my settlement. At the very least, an apology or follow up call would have been nice. I have shared my experience with the doctor who recommended the firm to me and I will be sure to share my opinion with every person I know who may be looking for a personal injury attorney. I am convinced that many other firms could do a much better job than Bachus and Schanker.

I was involved in an accident back in August of 2019. It was my first and hopefully last one. I didn't have any severe damage or maimed , However I was whip lashed and dislocated hip and shoulder. I spoke to a friend who referred me to a case manager Crystal Brezezinski. She send a Mr Cruz who told my accident information. He was able to advocate on my behalf since the insurance company for the at fault motorist was trying to write my car off as a total loss and just send me a check for X amount of dollars. Backus & Schanker was able to get me into a rental through Enterprise until I was able to find another vehicle. I was referred by a member at Church in the City to Therahand Physical Therapy in Aurora.
After an evaluation from a orthopedic surgeon consultation and further
Xrays it was determined that I continue with physical therapy for the next two years since surgery could be risky. Backus & Schanker is in contact with the legal representatives of the insurance company at fault to pay for all my past, current and future after care and emotional damage. My injuries are slowly recovering but it gives me peace of mind that I will be compensated for this almost severe injury or fatal accident. I always received a courteous response to all my emails, calls for follow up, also reaching out to Therahand to send all bills to their office. I can say that with the difficulty of finding the right legal team to represent you in the case of an accident. Backus & Schanker will step to the plate and hit out of the park. I have a friend who was involved in a accident 4 years ago and they have been getting the round around and they are in their late 70 with no end in sight when this other major law firm will close their case.
I hope this can help you decide and make the right choice.
