They won't do it for you. They are not a legal office. They don't get paid by customers. They are a non-profit...funded by people who make them better. Complaining about how shi%%y they are doesn't do anything. Donating money, volunteering, etc., actually does help make that critical difference in people's lives. . 1. I sued my landlord because she would not let me take my property off her land. 2. Judge said go across the street and talk to Community Legal to resolve it. 3. It was resolved in 3 hours by Erin. Both parties gave a donation totaling about $100. . So it works in the sense that a person can get free, or cheap, effective legal help. . Does it work well? No, in the sense that you may get offended because it's not like the lawyer's office you are used to. Staffed with untrained people. You have to help them help you. . Why? Because it is not funded by clients with money. It's funded by donations. . The legal help provided comes from lawyers who donate their time in bi-monthly workshops. It's one of the best set ups I have seen in the U.S. . They need money, office resources, volunteers.

I had the opportunity to work closely with this non-profit organization. And in the past, I had always have a good experience. Noel and the ladies that worked with her were very helpful. I was very disappointed to hear and learn that Noel is no longer there. Usually people in non-profit organizations move and the turn over can be very challenging. However, what is going on right now in that office is just incredibly unprofessional!! I called yesterday and the person who answered the phone ( she identified as Danielle ) was nothing but rude and plainly disrespectful. She was " A" wall and not willing to go out of her way to be helpful nor pleasant in any shape or form. So I thought that I would take my chances and go to their office on behalf of my client, and do the best that I could to get some answers for my client. Again I was treated very poorly by a young lady named Danielle. This poor soul looked tired, miserable and unhappy. Then proceed to tell me all of the ways that she was not going to be able to help me. I was frankly out of luck no matter what information I need it. Then she went on to tell me that she was not able give me a hint of when I would be able to get the information that I was requesting and she voluntarily told me that things were definitely different and that nothing was the way it was before ( in a way that she was implying that that was as good thing !!) and that the employees even where all new and practically , "there was a new sheriff in town" Then ... she went on to say that they are going to be moving and practically not soon enough, because " they" (whom ever they are) could not get anything done with all " those people" walking in. The whole experience was very unpleasant, unprofessional, unwelcoming and I could not believe that someone like her was working with the public!! Ms. Danielle has no social skills and clearly has a lacks work ethics. She should not be working with people, not even answering the phones! This is a non- profit and I certainly do not wish to donate any money to them nor encourage any one to do so, if this is going to go pay for her staying in that position of dealing with the public. There got to be someone else out there who can do a better job. If this young lady is so unhappy please do us all a favor and let her consider a career re-arrangement. I am married to a Deputy District attorney and I my self work for a non-profit organization that helps men and women to deal with Domestic Violence ,Sexual assault and trafficking for sex and labor. They certainly don't need to be putting up with more abuse and trauma from someone who is supposed to be helping them. HOW DISAPPOINTING!

DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME. ALl they do is do a google search for local lawyers....not about helping people at all. It was an all around disheartening experience. Where ever their funding is coming from ...it is money down the drain...
