We engaged in the procedure of opening a LLC Real Estate Company through Harvard Business Services. I am anxious to see it work.

Did exactly what we needed for an LLC.

Easy to deal with.

I used this company as the registered agent and purchased 2-year package. Four months later, I found out I should not register my company in Delaware and hence I no longer need Harvard Businesses Services as my agent. I asked them whether I can get partial refund: what I have paid minus the original 1 year price (since I acknowledged that they have been my agent for 4 months). They just say no refunds. That's it. There is nothing they can do.

Then I am thinking is there anything I can do from my side, I wrote this review.

After I wrote the first paragraph of the review, they refunded me $40 in the same business day after seeing this review posted here.

I understand every business wants to protect its reputation, and I would re-rate the company to 4 star. I hope they work with customers with a reasonable solution to begin with. Of course, at this point, I did not have the opportunity to judge other services they provided yet.

I am honestly EXTREMELY pleased with the services and service of Harvard Business Services. I have been employing their services for a year and I find them to be professional, informative, timely and extremely accommodating. I would recommend them with confidence and I plan on working with them again.

Excellent services for all!! my comments were taken seriously and I was humbled when the chairman himself wrote to me that he takes full responsibility for the tax filling delay that happened unintentionally. I just switched our registered agent to Harvard and I'm more than impressed. I first went for a competitor who appeared to be $4 cheaper, but then I stopped the sign-up process when I realized they had some ugly pre-checked "options" built into their sign-up form, which would cost me triple the price if I overlooked the checkbox. I'm very happy I finally made the right choice and came here. Harvard not only waived the state fees for switching the company, but also did the paperwork [all these were extras at the apparently cheaper competitor], plus Harvard guarantees the agent fee will never increase for the lifetime of the company. You can't beat this.

Avoid at all costs. They never responded to my emails, they just kept sending me letters. I kept sending emails and calling with no luck or answers. Eventually I had to file a year or two of backlog interest and fee's on my taxes because they also didn't explain that you have to close out an LLC in order to quit being taxed on it. Delaware in general is a big scam when it comes to LLC's (unless you are a big shell corporation). I would avoid Harvard Business Services and Delaware.

I originally was going to establish my company through them. However, I then wound up talking to a business lawyer for my state, who then helped me find that it was beneficial for me in pretty much every way to instead establish it in my state instead. I called HBS and, despite having already filed it (yet not having completed the order when I called), they were able to get it reversed and they sent me a refund rather quickly. This business is not only quick, but they're also honest.

Though I will continue to use HBS for my current LLC, I might not use them to form other LLCs. While their customer service is excellent, and professionalism I discovered a host of issues. If you know LLC formation, the needs of your LLC, and want the arrangement to be done professionally, it may be worth it to spend the money HBS offers. If you are new to the process, either call HBS first to find the right plan and options you'll need or go to a smaller company. A smaller company will not have the resources to answer your questions almost immediately, via phone or email, if you can wait, consider a smaller company with lower costs.

HBS is not an awful company, it seems designed for people with either a lot more money to put in to a very professional start-up package, or people relatively familiar with the process and want the professionalism HBS offers. I would use HBS in the future, when/if I have more money because I truly appreciate their professionalism and customer service but for my first LLC, and living on a budget, HBS wasn't the best for me.

In general, HBS helped get my company name, the EIN, seals, and other very basic documents. However, when I was deciding on the plan, I wanted several options which I did not find when I first researched each plan. The jargon used helped obfuscate options that were or were not available. Now I need to spend over 700$ more to get 2 options I wanted. I would have chosen the best plan (I got the 2nd best plan) if I understood what it had and what my plan lacked. Furthermore, I went back to the site to reevaluate what I did wrong and what the company may have not done to lead to my situation. Due to jargon (terminology not clear to a lay person), it was difficult to know which plan best suited me. I could have researched each unknown term but there were so many, that it would have been unreasonable to do that level of research.
I chose HBS for its reputation but if/when I have to create a new LLC, I don't know if Ill use HBS again. Firstly, their prices are higher than many other places which offer the same options. Secondly, some companies define business jargon, or avoid using it at all. Lastly, Im left with the feeling that Im stuck with them, at least for some years.

Here are three examples of options that were not made crystal clear for lay customers, completely false descriptions, and ways they prey on the lay customer.
a) Licensing a business in Delaware simply gives you a license in Delaware but if you are working from a different state, you need to register the business in that state. That option costs 429.00$ PER STATE.
b) Though you may technically use their address, and should if you aren't living in Delaware, until your business is registered in the state you actually do business. But don't expect them to forward your mail. Having 6 pieces of mail PER YEAR (except Dept of State documents, and possibly other government documents), costs 100$ (99.99$), which is egregiously high considering the cost and ease of forwarding/mailing mail to you. Having a "unlimited amount" of mail forwarded costs 300.00, bu the representative said "of course this is not completely unlimited." He did not know or could not say what the limit was but that is literally false advertising. When you pay the 300$ for unlimited mail forwarding it is NOT unlimited and worse yet, the amount of mail that breaches their limit is not disclosed to the customer.
c) The package descriptions sound very informative, though are not. One must read the details, which are not written in a language familiar to most people, and even 2 friends who have Delaware LLCs, found their descriptions of certain options obtuse and vague.

This is a very basic formation company .
Customer support is very fast and easy.
Lowest registered agent fee of 50$ got to love that.
No referrals or extras like referral to bankers.
No help filing a DBA basically they tell you to do it.
I have found other companies they go the extra mile.
like i said this one is very bare bones basic.
will not use them again.

They need to provide an annual franchise tax reporting service, just like CCH's Bizfilings does with their MARS service. Otherwise this is a decent annual registered agent service.

They lost a package sent to them from the IL Registered Agent Inc office (a partner company they work with in Illinois) to their office in Delaware, and they can't locate it. It had a cashier's check in there, and they claim to have sent it back to my client. I am not happy with HBS. Plus, no one answers the phones after 5 pm eastern. If they are going to be a national registered agent, they need to be able to not lose packages in the mail (like, use a tracking system people), and also have a little more expanded hours than 5 eastern. The entire country does not use eastern time zones. I will now be taking my business elsewhere for my clients.

Buyer beware.

I organized an LLC thru Harvard Business Services (HBS) in 2013, have used their registered agent services and their mail forwarding since that time. I have worked with other, similar services in the past - and was an affiliate for one of their competitors for a few years. HBS has provided straightforward billing and what I consider to be competitive fair prices for the various services they offer. I personally recommend Harvard Business Services without reservation.

Easy to create the LLC formation but it's annoying that they bombard you with these follow up bills! The registered agent fee is probably reasonable. I usually find the minimum expense in maintaining the LLC for reference to a business establishment but not to use all their services that you can simply do at a cost!

I am a new customer of HBS (just over 48 hours). I am creating a LLC in Michigan. There was a hiccup in getting my registered office address from the HBS Rep. When the issue was brought to the attention of HBS I received a phone call from a higher up Rep that not only corrected the issue but went above my expectation of what I was expecting HBS to do. Price is always a factor for any customer but the customer service is the biggest factor and HBS has proven to me that they want customer service to be the biggest factor as well.
