She answered all my questions (there were many), and provided a great deal of insight in helping me make a number of important decisions with respect to the planning documents. Rebecca is a wonderful lawyer. She was honest and professional. She ended a 5 year custody battle that I thought would never be over. She is realistic and won't tell you things just to satisfy you. She was always available to answer any questions and was very responsive. I wish I would have found her sooner.

Save your money and go anywhere else, Rebecca will rack up the billable hours and give you little to nothing in return. Rebecca was my attorney for over a year in the lead up to a custody and support matter that ended horrifically for me.

For the custody part she passed me along to an associate who couldn't answer the basic question of why I deserve to have custody of the children to the judge, which was clearly spelled out in my Petition and the Interrogatories.

For the support part Rebecca tried to ditch me as a client two weeks prior to the court date after having paid her close to $30k in the lead up to the trial, then on our day in court she left court room while I was sitting on the stand under examination from the opposing counsel. Rebecca biased the court on her way out claiming I had lied under oath to the judge, which I clearly had not, she didn't even give me the chance to explain my statement before she just up and left the courtroom.

The Judge did not offer a continuance, and in-fact made me represent myself for the rest of the trial. I had no idea where any of the evidence documents were, nor did I know how to defend myself, so in the end I ended up owing not just the full amount that my ex claimed plus interest I had to pay her attorneys fees on top of it. It was the worst possible outcome and any lawyer could have done a better job. You would be wise to steer clear of this charlatan who has no scruples and will charge you a fortune and take your money then leave you on the stand defenseless. In short Rebecca ruined my life and you would be wise to heed this warning and go elsewhere for legal counsel.

I do not recommend Rebecca for legal representation. She was extremely unresponsiveness (except when I informed her I was firing her!), was slow to file for me, misled me about what she could accomplish for my case in my favor, she actually filed my custody motions with incorrect wording that can be easily disputed, and she never actually showed up for me. Not once did Rebecca attend my hearings- she sent others in my place who either a) had such little experience she didn't know whether to sit or stand in front of the judge or b) actually showed up LATE, while I was standing in front of the judge and I had no idea who this woman was.
I am not sure if Rebecca is spreading herself too thin, a mediocre attorney, or just lazy.
I am filing a complaint with the Virginia Bar regarding her mishandling of my case. She was an embarrassment to me as my "attorney."

Highly disappointed, hired her based on good reviews on Avvo, My experience turned out to be like the few negative ones she had on there. She is very Unresponsive. She put the wrong info on the paperwork she typed up. I informed her of the error She sent it anyway without making corrections. After not hearing back from her from the emails and voice mails I left. I called the courts and found out my order was signed 5 weeks ago. Finally got ahold of her and she blamed the court clerk for not sending her a copy.

Our case is one of absolute heartache and really wished I knew to contact Rebecca Malone sooner. My son and his ex-wife live in Loudoun County VA and have a 7 year old daughter who share joint legal and physical custody. His ex-wife (and all her family don't know how to be anything but vindictive (even when it means hurting their daughter). She ran off with his daughter back in August 2016 and you would think Loudoun County would be able to serve their community by bringing her back here to answer to (yes parental kidnapping). He was in and out of court since she left but wouldn't locate her so my son, with help of a private investigator, found her in Texas. The fourth time in court with her new address, the court system still said he needs to work with bringing her back to Virginia. This is what finally led me to Malone Law in Reston VA (Rebecca Malone). He got papers stating he has full sole legal custody but the judge still said he needs to work it out and she is now only giving a continuance till August or she is closing his case. Not being able to get any answer about the legal paperwork through the court system, I finally said it is time to talk to a lawyer as he can't do anymore. Rebecca, very thankful to her, let us come see her for a consultation and without hesitation she explained everything about all the custody paperwork he was handed from the courts. Though she is not able to help us move our case along further, as it is now requiring him to figure out how to work the system in Texas, she still took the time to explain as much as she could about working court papers from Virginia to Texas. It doesn't make our case any easier, but it gave a better perspective of his paperwork and how I now wish I would have decided to contact her much earlier since his time is getting shorter before a last court appearance. His ex-wife hasn't come back up here since she left and our thinking was the courts should be doing something because she not only took his daughter but also has not answered to any court papers to come up here for court. I can only hope in trying to find a lawyer in Texas that will be as excellent as Rebecca. Even though he can't hire her for issue in Texas, I certainly wish he could because I most definitely would want her on my side in the courtroom. Thank you Rebecca for setting us straight on all the legal jargon with paperwork for custody. Too bad the courts work this way, because our family is being punished and pushed out of his daughter's life solely because the courts let people leave with kids to another state and then it is up to the parent left behind to go thru the system where the parent's lived and then also have to work thru the system in whatever state the ex went in hiding. This makes no sense to me, but maybe someday, someone out there will get a clue and be able to crack the system and have it so when an ex takes off and gets found, our legal residence where they were residing would have all the authority to bring them back and place charges on them. Maybe in doing so it would stop so many people taking off with children. It obviously is not working today, as there are so many kids getting pulled away for no reason from knowing the other side of their families, and do it without any consequences. Well, now he will see if we can work around Texas with the knowledge from Rebecca of the paperwork (and cross my fingers that I can find a lawyer as excellent as Rebecca) and hopefully after a year get to be with his daughter like it should be. Shame on our court systems for making it so difficult for wanting to be in his daughter's life. Thank you so much Rebecca for showing us the direction needed. It was a pleasure meeting you.
