If you are in need of a good attorney seek another one. My girlfriend used her in a custody case and when it came time for court she never showed up or sent a rookie lawyer in her place who knew nothing about the case. I strongly advised looking for a better attorney. She seemed nice at 1st but turned out to be total disappointment for my girlfriend.

To say the least..Please look beyond here, go some place else and DO NOT WASTE your money! I used her over a decade ago, and she did not give me any advice after my case went through the court. I literally had to call almost every day to get information or ask her questions that I felt as an attorney she would be asking me. Now I am faced with situations from when she suppossedly represented me, and everyone is asking me this quesgion..." did you have an attorney?"..Yes I did! " and this did not get taken care of back then?"..no!..then ingetbthe next question..who was your attorney? ..Cynthia Clausen. And it's like..who?? Hmmm, never heard of that one. I am hoping she has gotten better for all those who are pleased with her services. It was not the case for me. I am having to get an attorney to address things now that could have be taken care of back then if she had properly done her job.

So attentive at what she does, truly worked wonders for me! So thankful for all of the assistance she provided during this time of my life. Still checks in to this day to see how I'm doing. Thank you Cindy!

Hired this individual to adopt my grandson and got the screws put to me,gave her $1900 to get things going and could never get in contact with her,called several times to make contact but never got anywhere,went to her office many times but was always told she wasn't in and would call me,it's a scam to get your money,Don't go to her unless you take Vaseline with you,you will most likely get it put to you,if you try to sue for your money it will cost you much more than she got from you to get it back

I used Cindy as my attorney in personal custody situation, I could not have chosen a better attorney!! Cynde Claussen did nothing for me. She said she had filed my petition for divorce and I called the court house and she had not. It took her a few days to do so after I wanted my retainer back. She has lied to me all the way. She doesn't do anything unless you are on her seven days a week. I fired her and got another attorney, Believe me, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY OR TIME. GET ANOTHER LAWYER!

She was supposed to be my attorney for a cost case. Idk if she was court appointed or what. Probably why she was so terrible. She only had shown up to court a handful of times. I tried reaching her for months with no response. I did just fine with out her. May think about just going alone before looking like a idiot wondering where your attorney is.

If 0 stars was an option, I would use that option. The ONLY way I was ever able to get a hold of her was to go down to the office. EVERY time I called her receptionist would say "she is out of the office" or "she is in court". I attempted to use Cynthia for my custody case, paid her 500$. Never received an invoice, so when I called to let her know I was taking my business elsewhere, her receptionist was rude and hateful. It's been almost a month and a half and I STILL haven't heard from Cynthia about receiving an invoice OR my money back. Do yourself a favor, save your money and go to see another attorney!

If I could give her no stars I would. Never around, never calls back. Took my full payment and disappear!!! Always giving me the turn around. She is always at court! Really?

I've sent many family members to Ms. Clausen and she has done wonders for them. As a fellow attorney, it's nice to have someone you can trust with your family members when you can't represent them. She's incredibly knowledgeable and is a damn good attorney.

Never available to her paying clients. Never returns calls and then CANCELS on you without notice. I mean what kind of lawyer does that to a paid in full client!?!?! *This is an amendment after reading the other reviews. I cannot believe how many other ppl that she has treated this way. My husband had to leave work early in order to make the appt. We had scheduled with her for over 2 weeks. When we showed up, one of her "assistants" informed us Cynthia had an emergency and had to leave. Call me crazy here, but I'd think being an assistant to an attorney would be able to make a simple phone call and relay that message?! Even on short notice THAT would have been acceptable, but saying NOTHING until we walked in to find out really pissed us off. We cannot afford to miss work.... which is one reason we needed her in the 1st place. She was there to take the money, but now you cannot even get her ON THE PHONE to ask a simple question. I think ppl should report her to the state board and maybe she'd be more professional, on top of things or for Christ sakes...return a damn phone call!?
I agree with several other reviewers and go with another Attorney. I've used Mott Plummer in the past, and after this situation is handled by Cynthia we will go to his son, Michael Plummer. I've seen this man in action and he's very effective, efficient, professional and courteous. I think the reviewers that gave her 4 stars and great reviews, are family, employees and or friends. BE AWARE Ppl. If you're in dire, immediate need on something VERY IMPORTANT, save your time, MONEY & sanity and go someplace else. Damn, if I'd known then what I KNOW now. SMH.

I was in a very desperate situation and needed to find a lawyer asap, upon a search Cynthia's firm came up and I took a leap of faith. She helped me tremendously resolve my case, fought for me like a pit bull, straightforward and looked for my best interests. I was not the easiest client to work with, so I am proud of the respect she gave me and the patience and tenacity she exhibited. I am very thankful for her services and support.

Cindy never returned important calls. Her receptionist also never new what was going on nor where Cindy was. Very disappointed . After leaving her service, she over charged me and did not return my retainer in a timely manor nor enough!! No recommendation here.....

BAD IDEA!!! Please save yourself from a horrible experience. Cynthia Clausen doesn't return phone calls or communicate with her clients. Once the up-front retainer fee is collected, you won't hear from her again. I had to drive to her office and drop-in unexpectedly in order to get guidance on my case. When I told her I had been trying to reach her by phone for OVER A MONTH, she tried to make excuses and even blamed her receptionist. She didn't even bother showing up for my court date. She handed my case off to someone else in her office (not even sure if this person was even a lawyer). Because of her lack of communication, my car was repossessed (she ignored mail she had received from my credit union requesting a renegotiation of my car loan). The car was my only form of transportation and I have a small child with lots of doctor's appointments. I don't think she even deserves 1 star here but it was my lowest option.

My experience with this woman has not been a very great one, to say the least. My boyfriend has been trying to contact her for at least a month and a half, he has left many voice mails simply asking for a call back. Sad to say he has only spoken with her assistant, who has not been much help at all either. He has explained in these voice mails how he is not able to see his child until this mediation agreement is finalized. All he asks for is simply a date, a time frame, at which it might be finalized. Cynthia is always either at the court house, in a meeting, or out of town every single time he calls. Yesterday 10/28/15 was honestly ridiculous, he had called somewhere around 9:00am asking to speak with Cynthia (again). Her assistant then told him she was in a meeting, to call back in about 15 minutes. He agrees, and calls back 15 minutes later only to be told "I am so sorry, she just left for the court house! It just slipped my mind, call back around 3!". He agrees and calls the office FOR A THIRD TIME THAT DAY and reached voicemail. So he proceeds to leave yet another voicemail explaining his situation, again. Very unprofessional. We do understand that it can take months to finalize these kinds of cases, but I think a little information on when is no where near too much to ask.

Well I guess I will start from the beginning, in 2010 I contacted Cynthia's law firm for assistance and during the time she was on top of things and was very professional. In 2014 I attempted to refinance my house and found out that there was a lien against it from one of the creditors that were included in my bankruptcy. I once again contacted Cynthia's law firm to find out what can be done this was in April of 2014, in September 2014 I was advised that the records were just pulled by Cynthia's office and that the creditor should not have placed the lien on my house. In November 2014 I was told that I needed to supply a copy of the lien, which I was able to do in December 2014. Now I realize that things with the court take time, so I waited about a month before I contacted the law firm again and received no response from Cynthia, so I periodically called her office to get follow up on the status of removing the lien. Not till I got very irritated on the voice mail did I receive some sort of response, which I was advised that my case is being worked on and as soon as there was an update I would be advised. I called every week requesting an update and was told that I would receive a call back - that call, along with all of my other requests went unanswered. I called everyday for a week straight asking what the status of my case was and every time I called I was told "Cynthia is in court" or "she is with a client" or "Cynthia is out of town". To this day I have not received a call from Cynthia. I contacted Michael E Plummer & Associates one evening - it was around 7 pm and they answered the phone - which blew me away. I was advised that he would call me back still that night, which he did. It was around 9 when I talked to Michael, I explained my situation and he said that this was an easy fix. I supplied him with the court file and the copy of the lien. Michael contacted me the following day and advised that I should know something in about 30 days. Today is my 30 days and I am happy to say that the lien is currently being removed from my house and it should take no more than another 30 days. I will accept some of the responsibility for the length of time that I allowed to pass without any information on this issue - however I feel that Cynthia's lack of professionalism with such a small task says a lot about how she is practicing law. I can honestly say that I am very grateful to Micheal E Plummer & Associates for the respect, professionalism, and prompt attention to this matter that took over a year for Cynthia's law firm to play games with. I would have accepted a response from Cynthia saying that she is not interested in assisting with this case, at least she would have shown some respect, but unfortunately that is not Cynthia's style - you get what you pay for. I rate Michael E Plummer & Associates law firm a five star.
