HORRIBLE Experience run and don't look back!!!! After paying for 3 and 1/2 years on time never late. I got a letter today (the day after my birthday) saying they are dismissing my case. This is why, my Mom died almost a year after I filed for bankruptcy. So I went and spoke to Mr Koehler he said you won't have to pay anything you will get to keep your inheritence. He walks out of the office is gone for approximately 10 minutes he comes back and says you will have to pay $19,000. I said how did it change from 0 to $19,000. He began to yell at me as if I was scum. Never said I'm sorry for your loss or acted human in any way...Nice huh. My Mom died in April 2016 I filed in April 2015...My Moms house took over a year to sell and part of that time I was unemployed but I still made my plan payments. So how is it that the amount went from $0.00 to $19,000 then to $17,500 last year, now back up to $19,000. The whole time after my Mom died I've still been sending in my plan payments. Today I get a letter saying they are going to dismiss my case. Saying that I have failed to respond to Mr Koehlers numerous attempts to contact me. That is a complete and total lie. I have kept in contact and I have records to prove it. I asked for an amount to pay off my bankruptcy and Mr Koehler said "you don't trust the trustees calculations?" What kind of comment is that? I want to know where they came up with their amounts. Simple as that. No one in their right mind is going to just blindly send $19,000 to someone without first seeing what it is for. I have never been treated so bad in my life. This has been a horrible, emotionally draining experience. Not only did I lose my Mom during this horrible ordeal they want to squeeze every last penny I have. I am willing to pay what I owe but not any more than that. Note: Mr. Koehler was paid $4000.00 and he did not help me at all. He treated me horribly, yelled at me and hung up on me. I would tell any one thinking about filing bankruptcy to choose someone that will treat you with respect. Like any human being should be treated. An attorney that will say they are sorry for your loss, when you lose a parent and are devastated. An attorney that will speak to you on the same level not as if they are holy than thou. This letter I received is full of lies. I have kept in contact was always honest and definitely DID NOT try to commit any fraud. For that to be included is laughable I am the one that told them my Mom died.
This whole process has been an exhausting, emotional ride I would not want my worst enemy to experience. If you choose Mr Koehler that is your right, just remember that this happened to me. I am a good and honest person trying to do the right thing and I have been treated horribly. I hope and pray no one else goes thru what I have. I wish I had never filed to begin with. So very sad and angry...this has been a huge waste of time and energy. One good thing is if they dismiss my case I won't have to deal with Mr Koehler anymore. Why would he care he has his $4000.00 in full for not doing his job and I am being dismissed because they want $19,000.00 which is more than half my inheritance. Remember, I have never been late with my plan payments not once, even when I was unemployed....He must think a mean vicious letter full of lies is going to make me send him the money...Wow he is worse than the creditors anyday... Absolute nightmare!!

Worked with christyl at the Evansville office and she made my experience so easy I was worried this would be a stressful thing but it’s been very easy

The office here is great . I worked with crystal from start to finish she was really helpful and informative. I needed to stop a garnishment I had that done in about an hour.. emergency filing is the way to go..Koehler is the way to go when life gets too costly!

If you need to file bankruptcy, this is the place to go!! They take the time to work with you and answer all the questions you have. I had problems with the creditors taken stuff off my credit report and they called and for me and took care of! Anytime I had any questions about my account and payment Julie was so sweet and always asked if she could help with anything else! They are responsible priced a lot cheaper than other places!!

The staff at Koehler Law office was so polite and courteous. I didn’t know what I was going to do. I filed a bankruptcy through this law firm. Having never dealt with a lawyer, bankruptcy, or really any type of legal business, I wasn't sure what to expect. I never met face to face with anyone until the court date. Even though I had asked, I never had the process explained to me. I feel like some things were missed and now it is too late to change anything. I also feel like I should have filed a Chapter 7 instead of a Chapter 13, since I can't get a loan until the final payment of my bankruptcy. I feel like these are things that your lawyer should advise you on before you make any lasting decisions.

During the court appearance, I was asked if I had read and understood a form number (not the name of the form, but the form number) since I was nervous, I looked at my lawyer (hoping he would elaborate on which form they were referring) and was told "Don't look at me." !!!! What?!?! I feel like I could have went through the process myself and nothing would have changed.

Get a lawyer who cares about the individual and will meet with you to discuss all of your questions, instead of one who will just shuffle you through the process without any regard to your personal well being.

Yes, I would recommend your office to friends and family, you have given me peace of mind on my situation. Karla was very helpful, and very nice.

The last thing I want after finding out I am being sued for unpaid medical bills is a shady lawyer sending me unwanted mail offering help with bankruptcy. I bet this guy chases ambulances as well. It's not surprising that almost everyone that has left a 5 star review has only that one review. Seems like this office is forcing people to leave good reviews, probably before even doing their job. No thanks, if I need legal advice it wont be with this office.
