Mr. Bilbrey was appointed as GAL for my child during our custody case. I had my initial meeting with Mr. Bilbrey in April of 2018. Mr. Bilbrey then met with my son's father sometime after. During my meeting with Mr. Bilbrey he said he would be scheduling a meeting with my son, his teachers, and also his counselor. Our case was settled outside of court in July of 2018. At no point did Mr. Bilbrey meet with my son, his teachers, or counselor. After our case was closed I started reaching out to Mr. Bilbrey requesting an invoice for my records. Mr. Bilbrey finally responded two months later after several emails with an invoice. The invoice showed we were due a refund. Mr. Bilbrey requested our addresses so he could send the refund, which I provided to him. The figures on the invoice did not add up properly. I pointed this out to him and asked if he could explain. This was in October of 2018. I have reached out Mr. Bilbrey several times since October of 2018 and have not received a response from. I have also not received the refund that is owed to me. Mr. Bilbrey does not do a thorough job for his clients. Once the case is finalized he does not care to respond to his clients either. I would hope this review will deter any family law attorneys from recommending him as a GAL for any case.
