I used Jill at this office. She went six weeks without responding to a phone call or emails. Then charged me for emailing trying to contact her. Then we go to a pre trial hearing I express that during this I felt that we were walked on. She responded saying I insulted her representation of me. Then no response for 8 days and she then has her secretary message me saying they're withdrawaling from the case. Mind you while she wasn't responding to my communications she sent a bill with a letter and requested I pay an additional $1,000 on top of what I owe for future work needed. Terrible lawyer terrible office. They are unprofessional and all they did was waste my money. They did not do any good for me or my kids. Worst lawyer experience I've ever dealt with!

We hired this firm to assist us with an adoption in Missouri. They took our case with just under a month until the baby was due. We are very grateful for that. The problems were there from the beginning. We paid our retainer and were told that the hospital would be receiving the birth plan ASAP. We were told days later that they had the birth plan. The birth mother had spoken to the adoption specialist and I had as well. Her conversation with the specialist was told to me by the specialist and the birth mother, both told me similar but also different versions of their conversation. I let it go because we had no other options that close to the baby being due. This happened multiple times and the birth mom said if I were you I'd find another attorney. We could not do that as the baby was due soon. We pushed forward and made it to the day of the birth. We arrived at the hospital and were informed they were still getting things ready for us as they had JUST the afternoon before received the birth plan. We were upset but let it go. The birth mother ended up changing her mind before she was to sign her rights away. Which we 100% understand was a possibility and knew it could happen. We have no ill will towards her and her choice. I spoke with the adoption specialist that morning and she let us know and she told us that since the mother changed her mind that we would be getting a refund. The same day I contacted the specialist about the refund and she said it would be to us Friday or no later than that next Monday. That Monday I emailed her asking about the check. Her response was that they were still working on it and it should go out that week. At the end of that week I still had heard nothing. I emailed her again and her response was it would go out that next Monday and we would have a tracking number on Tuesday. Well Tuesday rolls around and nothing. Now my husband calls the firm and was informed that the specialist was out of the office. He called her on her cell phone and she was out sick and the check still had not been written. She had the nerve to ask my husband why we wanted our money back!!! And if we were planning to use that money for another adoption! This was insulting to us because we do not have to explain why we want OUR money back or what we intend to do with OUR money. Finally after she got back to the office she wrote the check and sent it overnight(at our request). We finally received our retainer, minus the at-risk portion 15 days later. No invoice, just a very inconsiderate letter and the check. We understand firms are busy. But when the check is hand written and comes with no invoice that supposedly they were working on to us this is very unprofessional and should not have taken over two weeks. We are thankful they took our case on such short notice and the small amount of work they did for us but we will not be using this firm when we decide to adopt again. Please do your research when hiring a firm to represent you. You should never have to fight this hard for a refund of your own money!!

The Morey family.
