These people are in Violation of the FDCPA. Not only did Maria & Amanda intentionally try to deceive me, while I called to inquire about a debt learned I had been sued. I was never served for the lawsuit. Debt was from 10 years ago. I was subject to abusive practices. Information was omitted until I asked to speak to a supervisor, only then was I told my files had been sent for garnishment. I was told this Law Office was an agent of the state, but again this is deceptive. According to the FDCPA a debt collector is an individual or entity whose primary business is the collection of debt on behave of third parties. Even my original creditor told me debt was sent to collections, yet I’m told this Law Office was an “agent of the state”. I have recorded all calls which depicts the ill intentions of this business. I contacted original creditor prior to conversation to confirm the original debt amount, yet was give intentional misrepresentations of the original debt by a Supervisor. I asked for civil judgment case numbers, but was only given the original traffic ticket case #. Not one time has this law office tried to find me to serve me. Not one time did the give me a chance to pay my debt. I had no idea I even owed the debt until I called the tax offset program & was given their contact information. Upon calling I was told my files had not been sent for offset but sent for garnishment, which was reflected on my next check I received 3 days later. Do yourself a favor and audio record all contact between this Law Office because they are definitely going to use unfair and deceptive practices! I am holding Butler & Associates to the full extent of the Law. You should do the same!

Paid off my debt in full and they didn’t send a release letter until the last minute. Haven’t given me the money I’m owed due to over payment.

Can they send me to jail if I refuse to pay? These cases are eighteen years old, and I've served time on them. I feel they're trying to bogart and finagle out of money.

I have been paying 600$ on old medical bills from 8 years ago I got a letter today saying they took 277$ out of my last check which was a over payment and would like to have permission to apply it to another bill they have in their office that is 1.987$ that has not been sent out for garnishment yet. This bill is 9 years old and I thought was paid off by insurance. I thought their was a statue of limitation on debt?

People that work i spoke to are absolutely not will trained in treating well the customers and they hung up on you. But tell them you are going to pay money in full and they change there attitude.

They are terrible, I call to set up payments after finally finding out they have been sending collection notices to an address I haven't lived at since before I went to prison then they tell me they can't accept payments of less then 240 when I was offering 150 to 200 a month. When I said that just isn't possible when I am supporting a family off my wages alone and can afford 40 to 50 a week at most they said they wouldn't accept that, refused to give me information on how to send them those payments. I gave them my updated address and phone number to contact me, after having left multiple messages with this information. Two weeks later my old address receives a letter of garnishment. Again sending legal mail to an address they know is wrong. They are refusing to allow me to pay and if garnishment takes effect I will be forced to break lease and file for all government assistance as I already qualify but have always made enough I didn't absolutely require it which I will when I lose 25% my wages. I will be to point where I will be looking at bankruptcy as I have no assets, not even a car, and no savings. These people are terrible and will refuse anything below what they want even a dollar less.

Tells me to create an account. Try to make one says i already have one. Call the office and they look up saying i dont. Typical for this rude place.

They are a fraudulent company. I called to find out about a debt that they tell me I have with a hospital. Then I call the hospital who tells me I have no debt and they did not ever send me to collections in the first place. They have garnished my pay illegally and I am hoping to find a lawyer to hold them accountable. They are scam artists who have been getting away with theft for far too long.

This place is ridiculous how can you have employees and they dont know how to do their job and if you decide to pay the debt in full they won't give the debtor all of it at once like they claim because they're freaking scam artist I paid $4200 cash and they only gave the debtor $4070 holding on to 130$ of my money for WHAT??? Now I have to wait for them to release the other $130 in a check to the County before I can get my dam License smdh!!!

Set up monthly payments for my 6 yr old daughter's doc bills. Went to make a payment online and the website kept screwing up. When I called they admitted they were having issues. I called again a month later because the website was still not letting me process a payment. No one answered and I left them a message. Called again to make a payment and they said since I'm late they already set up a garnishment! These people are a joke and I hope Karma comes back on them.

I was never served a court date just a notice of judgement that they could collect on fines from more than 6 years ago. I work in Kansas and live in Missouri so my tax withholdings were for Kansas. When it came time to get the withholding back from Kansas to pay Missouri I couldn't pay because they took the $2300 refund I was due. These guys clearly have Kansas legislators and their pocket book allowing them to do these dirty practices. If you live in Kansas and are unhappy with their practices I'd highly recommend speaking to your local representatives.

Scam artist. These people garnished my wages for a bill I had already paid 25 years ago. The original debt was $100 they added 12% interest over a 25 year period garnishing my wages at $2100.00. These people are absolute trash. I just got 2 more from them from 1996 equal to $700.00. I truly hate these people. I am going to devote my life to ruining this law firm.

Sends out blanket bills to anyone with the same name as the person they are looking for. I did about 10 minutes of research to find the person they are looking for and they will not send you anything stating they will no longer pursue. They pretend like they cannot but there is no law stating they cannot. Don't let them con you.

Great staff and very easy to work with

Force you to make outrageous payments and still expect you to afford the rest of your daily expenses. Charging us $1,000 to sue us in 5k of our existing debt. Not willing to work with you at all. Period. It's either pay them & starve to death. Or file for bankruptcy.

Cant explain how a debt of $3600 is now $6600. At first said there was interest. Then said there is not interest. Sending me notices although ive been making WEEKLY payments simply because i wont set a payment arrangment on all 4 cases. Id rather pay one of at a time. Plain and simple im done paying. The worst they can do to anyone is sue you and recieve garnishments from your check IF the statutes of limitations hasnt passed.

This "law firm" is nothing of the sort, and is instead a collection of bullies and extortionists using terror tactics to scare people into paying them interest. The office manager Ann is among the most rude, abrasive, unprofessional people I have ever had the misfortune to encounter in any setting.

Very rude and unprofessional would not give me the information that I needed.. paid the debt off in full and now I have to wait for my clearance letter would not say when, which is holding what I'm trying to do up.. letter should of been sent the day it was paid they had no problem taking the money that day but now I have to wait.. I never had any bad experiences with debt collectors until bulter and associates.. I hope I never have to deal with these unprofessional people again.. they need to be out of business

Basically a firm of bottom feeding collection lawyers and their grunt employees. Continually sending me letters on a 20 year old debt that they no longer can even legally collect on. Refuse to answer my calls because they don't like they way I address them. My advise would be to not send out letters asking a person to call you if you aren't willing to talk to them. Know your rights people. They only have so long to collect on a debt and we have no such thing as debtors prison in the USA. Don't let these sleezeball crony lawyers and their associates scare you.
