Shady. Hired a vocational expert that didn't produce a report that fit his desired approach. Then hired a forensic CPA to discredit his own vocational expert. Also tried to put minor children in harm's way against the advice of therapists. Don't like what the therapists are saying? Pull a legal maneuver and get new therapists. This enabled him to inject many more delays in the process - all the while running up costs. He failed at just about everything but made a fortune in the process. This guy is the reason so many regular people dislike lawyers.

John and his team helped me through a very stressful time. He treated me very fairly and was always upfront about everything. I had no idea what to expect, but having someone as experienced as he is was very calming. I would recommend anyone to use him. He is a very intelligent, up front, down to earth person. I will always be very grateful for everything that he has done to help me through this time.
This attorney is a con artist. He didn't do anything he said he would do, gave me bad advice costing me time with my child, back child support, I'm stuck in a horrible parenting plan, he put my baby in the hands of child abuser saying "unless he puts her in the hospital, there is nothing we can do," had me agree to a parenting plan drafted by the opposing council saying "You'll never do better with the judge," (had we gone to trial I could have had a better parenting plan), charged me for time not specified on the invoices. We had a pre trial prep meeting, and he spent the whole 3 hours talking about old cases, the plumbing in his building, and nothing about the actual trial. He charged me for two trials that he talked me out of, and I should have testified! He and his staff emailed me paperwork on other clients cases, had a social worker involved every step of the way, and I'm not sure for what purpose. Charged me over 23k, talked me out of defending myself and my child. There is nothing I can do about it. I asked him about several grave mistakes he made, in our case, and why he didn't follow through on the services he said he would provide, responding he had too much work, and wouldn't be able to spend the time on my case that was necessary. He should have told me this on the day of our consultation. I should have fired him when I started to feel uneasy. Also he has chosen to not display clients reviews on the Martindale-Hubbell review sight. At the time I did not know he was on the verge of retirement, was distracted, or I never would have hired him.

Choosing any attorney isn’t easy and your already emotional when trying to find one that fits your needs. I searched and went to three different ones before I found John Ciccolella and his staff. I felt very confident after meeting with him. The divorce took time and money, but John and his staff were there to help me and protect me and listen to what I wanted. The other party is sometimes the cause of having to spend more money and more time dragging things out. I feel like I built a relationship with John and the staff and was very pleased with the outcome. Thank you for everything!

John Ciccolella and his staff have been professional, honest and a calming force during a difficult and emotional time. His experience and no-nonsense approach has helped keep my costs in check and my expectations realistic. I know that I am in good hands with John and am grateful to have him on my team.

I HIGHLY recommend Ciccolella Family Law to navigate anyone through their divorce process. I had been with a firm for approximately 18 months before I was forced to seek other counsel. Many firms would not take my case on (many being the larger firms in Colorado Springs) because of one issue or another, and John and his staff were willing to take the case on and go up against a large Denver law office.
I am sure all divorces are complicated in different ways. Mine was a financial divorce with many different complex issues. I SAVED money using John. John has a CPA (Wendy) on staff, he also has a social worker (Linda), and a paralegal (Cheryl). Having Wendy the CPA involved was crucial, with her accounting background, we were able to more quickly get answers, solve problems, and logically talk with the independent financial accountant involved with my case. When I was with the previous firm I was paying my attorney to try and make sense of my situation, days and weeks back and forth with accounting offices, in the end costing me more money with the previous firm. It is beyond me, however, I do not know why more attorneys specializing in divorce do not employ a fulltime accountant to make the process easier.
Being a smaller law firm I received the service you would get out of a larger law firm, and a more personal experience. John's many years of experience, combined with his qualified staff make this a top-notch law firm to deal with the unfortunate experience of a divorce.

I went through a very nasty, long divorce that my ex and I fought each other on everything. John was able to predict every move from opposing counsel, my ex, and the court system. I knew what to expect every step of the way. He was very diligent in getting back to my emails and voicemails whenever I had questions and was always the counsel that was ahead of the game when it came to paperwork and meeting deadlines. In the custody battle, I am the primary custodial parent to our 3 year old after my ex tried moving him out of state with them, after a CFI was involved, and after multiple court dates. I would recommend John to anyone who is going through the same situation I did.

John and his team helped me through my child custody case. He and his staff walked me through every step of the process preparing me for what to expect as well as what I needed to do. They were professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. They responded in a timely manner to any questions and during an emergency situation, kept in touch and were available to basically hold my hand through the whole process. The case went in my favor, and I'm grateful for John Ciccolella and his team.

All divorce cases are complicated for the people involved and emotions run wild. Just like your doctor, if you follow his advise you will get better. When emotions run high people don't listen and don't follow the advise of their professional. Well, John knows his business and if you work with him you will experience the best results possible. John and his staff handled my divorce, and yes it was tough, but once I got on board the end result was excellent. If you need a good lawyer and willing to join in the plan then JOHN is your guy. He tries to resolve issues and not drag things out, which can be expensive. GW

I have had a very difficult case that has been drawn out over multiple cases and law firms, including a big name practice. A friend recommended a few attorneys including John Ciccolella. Even one of the free consultations I attended recommended John Ciccolella after hearing the complexities of the case. I have been quite satisfied with both John Ciccolella and his staff. They have gone out of their way to assist me in a difficult situation. I would strongly recommend John Ciccolella to anyone, especially those with tough child and family situations. Billing was straightforward and reasonable. It was obvious in the courts final ruling that John’s recommended approach and knowledge of the law was the deciding factor. Thank you John!

I went through a rough divorce. I was married for two years and my ex strung the divorce out for over a year. We had almost no marital property and no children together. During that time my ex pulled some stunts that are very difficult to handle. Without the wise counsel and guidance from John and his staff I don’t know how I’d have come out on the other end. John knows the system and he knows the judges. He guided me through every step, giving me sound advice and saving me a ton of money in the long run. I recommend him all the time without hesitation. As a side note, I have a friend who has worked in the legal system for years and when she found out I was using John, she gave me two thumbs up. Meaning, even lawyers in the field respect John. John isn’t cheap, but the adage “you get what you pay for” applies here. What happens in a divorce will impact you for years. Have the best in your corner!!
