Get a real lawyer

No one will call you back if you can get through to leave a message.

Great attorneys and can definitely help in court when you have no means to hire a lawyer they are always there. They won't completely get cases dropped but they will help to reduce a sentence.

Wish they would treat their clients as if they were the best lawyer around and you had money. Unfortunately it doesn't work out like that. When you're poor, you get the shaft. You are guilty and no chance of proving innocence.

A key part of our democracy is public legal defense. Unfortunately many politicians don't want poor people to have representation in court so the PDs are chronically overworked. Appreciate their value. As a social worker I've worked with 3 of their attorneys here in Carson City. They are smart, hard working and care about their clients.

Horrible. The public defender isnt there to help at all. The horror stories ive heard prior and what i have dealt with personally, if able do your best to find an attorney yourself. If unable affording one, represent yourself. You are your own best advocate. I always have the highest and upmost respect for people but having had dealt with their office for almost 3 years, I am now calling them the same as everyone else who has encountered their horrible representation as public pretenders. They aren't working for you, or on your side, but the courts etc; horrible defense.
