Making the decision to file bankruptcy is a very stressful situation. Lindsay Torgerson took most of the stress away by explaining very clearly what the steps were, what I was expected to do and what her follow-up would be. She basically held my hand the whole time, and made sure I filled out the necessary paperwork, sent her all the documentation she needed (which was voluminous!), and explained everything more than once. And most of my interaction with her was over the phone, reducing time away from work. Her knowledge and experience with bankruptcy law were excellent. Obviously I have nothing to compare my experience to as this is the first, and only, time I've filed for bankruptcy, but I believe Lindsey did a good job.
I called around to several different lawyers in the phone book and found Lindsey to be the most polite sounding on the phone. It was refreshing to find someone that sounded like they actually wanted to help us.
All and all it was a pleasure to work with Lindsey. She was EXTREMELY helpful walking us through all the head spinning paperwork, what we needed to do next and what to expect. She was also very good at calming my over active nerves when we went to court.
Hopefully you have a computer at home because pretty much everything is done via email, phone and fax. And you should still expect a huge stack of paperwork at the end of the ordeal. My husband is self employed and our stack was about 2 inches thick.
Bottom line, I would recommend Lindsey!! She was polite, professional and helpful.
Her Napa office was easy to find and conveniently located.
