I received a speeding ticket in SW VA during a road trip. I have had maybe 3 speeding tickets in my life but I have never used an attorney before so I was hesitant to use one now. I've always either prepaid them or gone to court and done the be earnest/respectful - hope for the best approach.

Attorney was proactive in returning my phone call (even after 5pm on a Friday night) and diligent in answering my many questions. He was professional and knowledgable - not only of the law but also the jurisdictions and judges with which he worked. I felt very comfortable and reassured.

My time commitment was about 30 minutes - the phone call / pics of ticket emailed to him / prepayment for his services.

Attorney Myers got the court outcome he planned and said he had hoped for. I add there was no guarantee that he would be successful and for your particular case there will also be no guarantee. The affect to me was a slightly (18%) higher fine vs prepayment of ticket/no court. Had I gone to court to represent myself I believe it would likely have been the same slightly higher fine (court costs) + possible insurance premium increase (in my research between 15-20% for who knows how long) + VA Driving Record impact + VA Driving Points Impact.

Financially - I have saved money when I consider insurance raises and travel costs to court. Personally - I saved over 10 hours of driving time and my workday. I didn't risk another ticket or an accident to travel so far for court. Super appreciative for all his efforts and my outcome.

If you are like me and have never hired an attorney or are considering it I would urge you that in my case it was worth every penny!
