Julian was very professional and helpful in representing me for a traffic ticket I received an hour outside of the Chesapeake area. I've recommended Julian to friends as it was an easy process and I was very pleased with how things turned out.

Mr. Bouchard represented me in a Civil case against an individual who made a fraudulent car sale to me. In short, I got ripped off in a Craiglist deal as the car was not in the condition promised. In probably 99% of the cases I would be out the money. With Mr. Bouchard's help, we took the case to court, won the case, and Mr. Bouchard was able to set up a payment plan through the court and I received 100% of the money I won. Mr. Bouchard was professional and very well connected which I believe may have helped broker a deal. I have recommended Mr. Bouchard to several friends and all have thanked me for the recommendation and positive results.

So, after a rear-end collision that my wife was involved in, I searched out several attorney's and settled on J Bouchard Law. There were several mitigating factors, the highest being personality I would say.
Mr. Bouchard seemed knowledgeable and confident and money was not at the top of the list with him, so it seemed.
The first order of business (service 1) was a continuance. This was a phone call, nothing more. I did have to chase Mr. Bouchard down to get this information and was up to the last moment in finding out that we did not have to go to court.
The second (service 2) order of business was an actual trip to court. Once there, my wife and I noted her name was not on the marquee board, and got very curious. However, no one explained anything so we sat in court. Mr. Bouchard did attend at this time and we all found out court had been re-scheduled. Mr. Bouchard did as I requested and asked that the charges be dismissed as we had taken the time to show up at the appointed time by the state, to no avail.
We received the next court date. We took off work again and went to court. (service 3) At the last moment, Mr. Bouchard called and told us (luckily my wife and I were sitting in the car awaiting a closer time to court time) that he was running late and that he had notified court but still, running late.
We sat there a bit (35 minutes) and finally, all the cases that were before the judge for that particular officer, were being nolle prosique, meaning, the state was dropping charges (no witnesses, no officer).
Now, we had been there fully 45 minutes to an hour, still, we were not there with the attorney. (he still had not arrived)
We found out from the judge and the ADA that they were not pursuing the case. okay!
We wandered out to the car, talked a bit and then called Mr. Bouchard. He said at that point he was pulling in. I am not sure if he was or not. Never saw him.
Long and short, his response was that if this came back up, he would continue his representation based on the fact thus far, had not been needed.
I contacted Mr. Bouchard today (June 28, 2017) and asked for a partial refund. His response? In short, he was paid for time and expertise and that had the case gone to court, he would have been there (I question that at this point based on previous demonstration of absence) and regardless of why, we should be happy that we won. I should not expect a refund. What I gather is this: You pay an attorney. You lose those monies regardless of outcome. I agree to a point. I agree that if you're in court, win/lose or draw, you've worked for your money.
That the state drops the charges and you don't have to work for your money....that's a little different.

Mr. Bouchard is an affable individual with an pretty decent personality. I cannot speak on his courtroom prowess as it was never utilized. I will say that apparently, he must be struggling financially as he is going to get his: win/lose/draw/ show up/ don't show up...

I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND, BASED ON MY EXPERIENCE WITH MR. BOUCHARD, TO CONSIDER UTILIZING A [MORE] PROFESSIONAL INDIVIDUAL THAT IS NOT QUITE SO MONEY DRIVEN. We're all in it to make a living, no argument. However....taking money for services never utilized is a little different. I won't say no services were utilized. He did grace us with a phone call (service 1) and a court appearance (service 2). The "professional" side was never tapped (service 3).

If you want someone to hang with that seems like he'd be fun in a bar scene or a party, I'd say he's your guy. THINK TWICE BEFORE EMPLOYING HIM AS YOUR ATTORNEY. Not expensive but I would have to classify as not professional either.

RESPONSE TO BOUCHARD'S RESPONSE:
THIS RESPONSE IS BASED ON FIRST HAND KNOWLEDGE OF A LESS THAN DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE WITH BOUCHARD LAW.
THE RESPONSE IS BASED ON FACT, NOT JUST WORDS ON THE PART OF THE CONSUMER.
INASMUCH AS BOUCHARD LAW DEALS IN FALSEHOODS, BE WEARY. BE VERY WEARY.

Need a defense attorney? I highly recommend Julian Bouchard in Chesapeake, VA. I needed to fight a traffic ticket that I was issued after a no witness MVA. The police officer believed the “other guy” & I got the summons which affected my insurance. Julian was able to poke holes in the other guy’s testimony & the judge dismissed the charges. It helps having prosecutorial experience when you are a defense attorney. He can focus on the real issues & discard the fluff. Nice guy, reasonably priced & he makes the law understandable. Most importantly he wins.

Mr Bouchard is highly recommended. He fights for justice when justice is due. When people try to take advantage of the courts and the court system and are just plain ignorant, he will give his ALL to fight for what is right. Mr. Bouchard does not beat around the bush, everything is black and white. He will not tolerate any disrespect or ignorance. He is one to have on your side without a doubt.

Today I witnessed a court case represented by mr Bouchard. I would like to start off by letting you all know that the case he was representing was an appeal of child support by a father. The case had been continued to today because mr Bouchard never showed up to the original trial. Also, court today started without mr Bouchard as he was over 30 minutes late. His client, a nervous wreck, was left to represent himself for that time. Upon mr Bouchards late arrival, the judge had to tell mr bouchard to check in because they had no record of mr bouchard ever having a case in that court building or with that specific client. While questioning the defendant, mr Bouchard mentioned several subpoenas he sent to multiple strip clubs requesting record of work history/income for the defendant, all which came back negative. Mr Bouchard then proceeded to repeatedly accuse the defendant of lying and magically concealing this information. Mr bouchard also demanded the defendant to read profanity aloud to the court room and after declining twice, the judge had to tell mr bouchard to stop. The DCSE representative was appalled by mr bouchards disrespect and let him know that it was completely unnecessary. Mr bouchard nor his client had any factual evidence of any of their arguments. They were ill prepared to say the least. After court, in an office where both parties received their paperwork, mr Bouchard began to raise his voice and point his finger at the defendant, telling her she needed to get out. He worked himself up to the point that he raced back into the court room and asked the bailiff to come address the situation. To which the bailiff saw no situation that needed to be addressed. Mr bouchard then stormed out of the office. I would not recommend mr bouchard as legal representation based on his lack of punctuation, respect, maturity, and evidence. If zero stars were an option that’s what I would have rated mr bouchard.

One of our children was a serious substance abuser. Upon learning of 3 shoplifting charges, we were referred to Mr. Bouchard. He walked us through the process with clarity and professionalism. Although time in jail was served, it could have been for a much longer period of time. He was kind enough to send us a check for the remainder of funds. We are very greatful for his expertise and have used him for other personal legalities as well. We would recommend him to those that want the highest of services.
