In general, I felt poorly represented by Mr. Reed in my recent divorce case. I would not be posting publicly about such a sensitive, personal issue if I didn't feel strongly about this. I've waited 3 months since the mediation was finalized to post this review to make sure it was done with a clear head and not from a place of anger.
Before you hire Mr. Reed, or honestly any attorney, it's probably a good idea to go online or buy a book and read and research the process. For example, there are nuances in the law concerning inherited money and property that can have a significant impact on the final settlement. I won't go into detail here, but suffice it to say that I was not made aware of these until they became a central issue on the day of the mediation. Had I known about these nuances I would have been better prepared.
There were also what, in my judgement, are significant professional errors and omissions in my mediation agreement that I will eventually have to go back to court to have corrected. Some of these were blindly obvious in retrospect, but on a difficult, emotionally charged day I didn't catch.
Be aware, educate yourself, don't get pushed into signing a settlement agreement without time for detailed, dispassionate review.
