Carole is an exceptional attorney in every way, answering even the most complicated (to me) questions with clear, straightforward language. She always found the time to make sure I was comfortable with every component of our will. Recommend highly and without a single reservation!

My wife and I have been using Carole Spainhour as our estate lawyer for over 20 years. She and her staff have always been polite, courteous, competent, and professional. I have never felt the need to question the integrity of the firm, and have been very pleased with my experience.

Called twice to talk to Carol about my mother who recently passed. Never got to talk to her but however was contacted by a hateful and spiteful woman named Beth who not only hung up on me but was very disrespectful and rude. Heres What happened when I talked to Beth.
Me: "Yes hello my mother just passed and I was wondering if Mrs. Spainhour had any information regarding my mother?"
Beth: "Your mother resided in Boone Correct?"
Me:"Yes ma'am"
Beth"I can give you some recommendations for lawyers in Boone"
Me: Yeah... Okat.. Listen I understand Mrs. Spainhour moved her office to Ashville but.."
Beth: "Okay goodbye" hangs up on me.

Carole could be the best lawyer in the world and I would have no idea because the hateful piece of work Beth. Thanks for nothing Beth.

15 years ago, I was horrified to discover that my elderly widowed aunt was victim to ongoing financial exploitation. Worse, one of the people involved worked for a law firm that was about to prepare her will and estate plan. Through networking, I found Carole Spainhour and took my aunt to consult her. Carole's way with her was phenomenal, as my aunt could sometimes be difficult. In addition to the strong interpersonal skills, the legal work that Carole performed was excellent. When my aunt passed away years later, everything was resolved almost effortlessly. Carole’s initial fee structure and charges for minor revisions over the years was fair and well worth it. For her estate planning and for the legal work related to protection from exploitation, I recommend Carole Spainhour without reservation.

Attorney Carole Spainhour has served very well in guiding me through the legal process of arranging my affairs in the aftermath of my wife's recent death. I was drawn to her through the presentation she made on the legal aspects of dealing with dementia in a course offered by Memory Care while I was serving as caregiver for my wife who had Alzheimer's. She is an expert in elder law, and has been efficient and timely in completing the needed documents, and courteous and personable in explaining procedures. Her paralegal Beth has also helped expedite the process and treated me with friendliness and respect. I intend to continue using Carole as my attorney as further needs arise, and highly recommend her to future potential clients.

My husband and I recently had our wills updated. Carole did a great job explaining what was needed for each of us and how the process works. We had a couple of questions after visiting with Carole and Beth, Carole's paralegal, did a great job answering those questions too. When we received our wills, our packets contained a list of things we needed to do to complete the process and optional materials to make it easy to find information when its needed. It was a pleasure working with Carole and Beth and if we ever need to update again we will surely use her.

My husband and I have worked with Carole and and her paralegal Beth for over 5 years. Carole prepared all of our estate documents. We have full confidence in her work, judgment, knowledge, integrity, and her commitment to serving our best interests. It is a huge relief to have this work completed and to know that Carole is available to help us as needed in the future. We highly value our professional relationship with her and Beth and have recommended our friends to them.

I worked with Carole Spainhour on a complex trust to benefit selected family members and a charity. She was thoughtful, insightful, and carefully implemented the changes I recommended. I was very pleased with the final trust, will, and other documents she prepared, and I can recommend her to others without reservation.

We used Carole Spainhour to prepare a Famliy Trust and all the ancillary required documents. She spent considerable time and patience with us to understand our special needs and wishes and to tailor the documents to fit our needs. She was timely and responsive with answers to all our follow up questions. We found the expense to be reasonable considering the quality work that was performed. We couldn't have been more satisfied and would not hesitate to recommend her services to anyone.

I have been asked to update my review on this attorney. MS. Spainhour has handled my estate legal work for over 30 years. She is the most thorough and knowledgeable attorney I have ever dealt with. She just does a good job and knows exactly what she is doing.

My wife and I have been clients of Carole for at least 10 years. She did our original estate documents and then a major update for us this past June. She was very professional in helping put our wishes in place in what to me could have been a very complicated process. Would highly recommend her!!

Our family has used Carole for family law / elder law work for over twenty years. Over that time, she has proven herself to be much more than just an experienced lawyer. She has truly become a partner with our family in helping us navigate complex life circumstances (aging parents, trust and estate law, etc.) She combines outstanding legal knowledge with professionalism, sincere compassion, and active listening to make sure the strategies and plans she develops support our goals and desires. Her billing practices (billable hours and hourly rates) are more than reasonable. If you need the services she provides, you won’t regret giving her a call. I recommend her without hesitation!

My husband (an attorney) and I consulted with Carol about updating our wills and trusts. The specifics were as simple as you can imagine - when 1 spouse dies, all goes to the surviving spouse. When second spouse dies, all goes to the two children, to be divided equally.
Carol spoke to us for 1.5 hours, and told us her fee to update our wills and trusts would be $6,000. I was quite shocked and asked her about the fee. She said this is in the ball park of what local attorneys charge.
We declined to use her and went to an attorney in a very large, well-respected firm in town.
Same scenario - but his fee for the same service would be $2,000 - $3,000. I would not recommend her. Buyer beware.
