Jack Stewart is (hands down) the best lawyer in Western North Carolina!!! I have used Jack Stewart's services twice in the last seven, almost eight years. The first time was 2013, I was a woman who was looking to get a divorce from my husband. Having gone to one lawyer, who didn't tell me anything of what to expect, just took my money (which I demanded back) and would not even return my phone calls, I inquired to a group of friends on Facebook, as to who was the meanest divorce lawyer in Asheville, NC. Jack Stewart was mentioned by several women. The details of my divorce when I met Jack was that the (future) ex-husband (who had left me and my child for another woman), was going to make me sell our home, pitch me and his child out in the street, pay no child support, etc. When Jack Stewart got finished, I got the house, vehicles, and 2 1/2 times the usual amount for child support.

This last time I used Jack Stewart's services, it started this past May. My teenage son was brought up on charges of communicating a threat of mass violence on educational property, a class D felony. They failed to mention that he was assaulted in the classroom three times, and the teacher (first year on the job) did not intervene (the wonderful state of our high schools today), and the fact that the statement was made to and against the student doing the assaulting. Jack worked with the assistant district attorney, and his boss, the main district attorney for our district, and I pleased to say, the charges were dropped voluntarily, after 9 months (my son did not even have to stand before a judge, in order to get it dismissed). Jack will be doing the expunction, to have any reference to this "charge" removed from my son's (already non-existent) criminal record. Each time, I have consulted Jack, I have found him to be very knowledgeable, very patient (I have a tendency to get on my own nerves, when it comes to my son, haha, so I can imagine how it has been for his staff to deal with me) and worth every penny and more than he charges. Anyone who has referred to him or his practice in a derogatory matter clearly has never used his services. Those of us who have used him, gladly speak of his character, and knowledge about the law, you can't go wrong trusting this man, he will give you his best. I gladly say, that I trust Jack Stewart and his firm, with my family and my well-being, regarding the law, and you can trust him too.

Handled my issue in one phone call!

Mr. Stewart's quote (one of four) came in double the next highest quote. There was never any response to my follow up.

Out of state client, all handled over the phone. Filed within two days of payment, followed through on all he promised.

Mr. Stewart was hired to assist in a traffic ticket case. His secretary informed me that I would be paying 450 dollars, which I have paid numerous times to another attorney for providing the same service. After the case was settled, his secretary sent an invoice for nearly 800 dollars. Incensed, I attempted to reach him no less than ten times only to be finally told by his secretary that he was far too busy to countenance my grievance. Soon, a correspondence arrived at my house in which Stewart called me a "Piker" and began with "Maybe you don't know who you're dealing with". Soon thereafter Stewart sued me. Not once in the course of this romp through Mr. Stewart's obvious imbalance have I spoken with him directly. Frustrated and sickened by his opportunism, I called his secretary to settle the alleged debt only to be told that he now demanded 1800 dollars. Do not do business with this Attorney.

Jack more than met my expectations when he appeared for me in traffic court. Very pleased with the results. He is hard to get in touch with (you primarily communicate through his assistants) but if you really need to talk to him yourself and are persistent you will. If you ever get pulled in a speed trap and need some help, I highly recommend Jack!

AWFUL!
I hired Jack to help me with a child custody case, which seemed like a very simple thing to remedy.
His retainer was $4,000. I borrowed the money and paid him in full in turn he said he would file the proper paperwork in court the following Monday, what a relief I thought. Instead, he went on vacation and missed the deadline. He said he could fix it, but it would cost more money, which I paid. All in all, he accomplished nothing besides collecting $6,500 from me. I received absolutely nothing in exchange for his legal services...Nothing.
There are a bunch of great attorneys in Asheville, Jack just is NOT one of them.
I really wish that I could go back and do it over again.

Jack Stewart is the best lawyer God ever made. He truly was a blessing to my family and I and I idolize the man. The rest of you jokers must have not paid him in full. Don't get me wrong he isn't cheap, but he is the best money can by. Love ya Jack.

I agree with other reviewers. I didn't enjoy his service at all. Many years ago, I got a speeding ticket in Buncombe County, NC, and asked him to appear in the court. I was a college student and lived out of state back then. Only thing he could change was the court date. A couple of months later, I appeared in the court on the "new-scheduled" court date and pleaded guilty. He charged me $500 for this. In addition, I had to communicate through the secretary for all questions and answers. I think that there are many other good lawyers out there who can serve your legal cases better than he does.

Jack was hired to get my child support droped. After mediatian my ex wife and i agreed to stop child support, Jack took the paperwork to the judge to be sign, He charged me $2,000.00 to do this. 6 month later they are still taking child support out of my check at work Jack never finished the job. My wife and i had to send the paperwork to the state child support agency to get it droped because they were herasing my place of business which was very emberassing because i had told the HR person that my child support had been droped, I had been deployed in the National Guard and was going back to my Cilvilian job when this accured. I only paid Jack $1,000.00 for half the work because he only did half the work and my wife and i did the other half. Jack took me to small claims court and won because our Judicial system is so corrupt, you could see the magistrate face he knew i won the case i had all the document to prove that he did not finish the job. When Jack entered the court room and they called each other by their first name i knew i was not going to win. I ended upt paying Jack the rest of the money. I think Jack Stewart is a Licienced Crook that can intemidate people because he knows the Law and we dont. I WILL NEVER USE HIM AGAIN AND I RECOMMEND YOU DO NOT.USE HIM EITHER
