I cannot emphasis enough the need to run from this law firm. I had this attorney (Malam) retained for 5 months concerning an obviously open and shut case. Dealing with this law office was an absolute nightmare. In five months, he NEVER voluntarily called to update me on my case. I spoke to him once for less than 5 minutes after his secretary called demanding more money and I refused to pay it until I could personally speak to him. His secretary continually said he would call to update, but it never happened. I was left completely in the dark throughout the entire time. I would have court scheduled and on a Monday and the Thursday before I would be fighting though to try to figure out if we were having court or if the case had been dismissed/rescheduled. This happened on 3 seperate occasions. The final time, I called to find out what was planned for court the following day (because, of course, they didn't proactively keep me updated). I was told it had been dismissed, but I was so leery due to his lack of professionalism, that I called the courts myself; who knew nothing about it being dimissed at that point. His secretary is rude, and they, in general, have an attitude that you (their client) are inconvincing them for wanting to just have a general idea of the status of your case once a month or so. I was an absolute fool for not just walking away from money I had "invested" and firing him. I hired him to take the stress of not knowing how to navigate the court systems off myself, but realistically he/his office caused me more grief and stress than I would have had just representing myself in court.
