We needed someone to look at a contract - he got us right in - gave us excellent advice and charged us a very fair price. He was a really nice man who made my husband and I feel very comfortable. I would highly recommend him!

This is in concern to Fenton Ramey i assume is Georges Father. Fenton went to high school with my father and was his lawyer. My father would have been 84 this year. We needed a simple probate with no issues or concerns only to start the process. Fenton stated it would be $3800 and i agreed. That did not happen. After a couple of months received a bill for $1900. I assumed this was part of the $3800 and paid immediately. Received a second bill later for $1480. When i received a bill for a 3 minute phone call for $87 i had concerns. When i emailed and asked what was left to complete after three months along with my concerns for the charges to date since receiving a bill in the mail for the phone call. We were down to only $320 owed. Again I never got a reply to any email with any concerns.
Frustrated i emailed again with billing concerns, time lines, lack of email response. I only would receive mailed only billing. I work all day on my computer and email allows reference to refer back to as a refresher. NEVER Happened.
I paid the $1480 bill and once Fenton received the check he called several times until i finally answered. Fenton stated thanks for the payment and since you are upset fired himself and wanted to give me phone numbers for other lawyers in Yukon. When i tried to respond with the questions i had he hung up.
As a friend to my mother and father for over 50 years I would have expected to be treated fairly and honestly, and up front with charges.
I did send a final email. Stating i am not a lawyer, i have no idea what you need to do, I am trying to handle everything to protect my nieces since they had just lost their mother and asked that you finish this for us and never received a response. I guess at the end of the day its always about money. We will find a lawyer that is fair and honest and understands email is how we communicate these days. Fenton if you are getting upset, quitting instead of finishing what you started at a charge you cant remember, its time to retire.
